Went to the Tonga Room. Great atmosphere, awesome tiki bar. Drinks were pricey but very large and boozey. Definitely a place to visit when in San Francisco. Heads up, you're charged a $15 automatically , per person, if you're seated at a table when the entertainment begins.

Beautiful establishment. Festive with a huge Xmas tree and gingerbread house. I attended a work holiday party in the Gold Room. We had so much fun. The drinks were good. But my favorite was the shrimp and cocktail sauce. The shrimp were huge and had so much flavor. I also had their local fish ceviche which was heaven.

A lovely hotel across from Union Square. A nice central location for the city. The rooms are well sized and appointed and pretty quiet. Nice breakfast cart in the morning for coffee and pastries.

Near pretty much everything in San Francisco. The remodeled rooms have great views, comfortable beds, and nice bathrooms with modern walk-in showers (which are a surprising rarity in the area).

What can't already be said?! Devine place for any occasion. As a Bay Area Wedding Photographer, I've photographed weddings here on several occasions. Their service, hospitality and backdrops for photography are unparalleled. The Grand Ballroom is insanely pretty.

They have upped their game! This was my second visit here over the last three years and have to say they have improved their service - and to a high degree, too. Laurel Court food and service was improved and now to a high standard. They now have a great pianist more often that ads great atmosphere. Cleanliness of rooms was better. The place is gorgeous - a riot of gold leaf and Corinthian columns. Doorman was great - special kudos to the youngish, black, tallish guy who was super helpful and polite. Thank you for a great stay - we are coming back!

Such a beautiful hotel with a rich history. The food is quite good and the drinks are well poured. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. A great place to stay or just to stop on and have a drink or bite to eat.

Gorgeous. Absolutely breathtaking to be inside.

Gorgeous. Absolutely breathtaking to be inside.

The gingerbread house is over two stories high, one of the biggest I have ever seen! The amount of detail and work put into this house! The service was also in point, with the staff always asking if we needed help or directions.

If you're looking to get into the Christmas spirit, come on in! If you're feeling extra fancy, there's a full bar and a mini champagne bottle to help you feel bubbly and jolly

Strangely they had my reservation booked under a misspelled version of my name with the wrong middle initial. I'm not convinced that I didn't stay in someone else's room. Also there was a $13.95 charge for internet. I found that surprising.

Though I didn't stay at the Fairmont, the facilities were impeccable. The Tonga Room was clean and very swanky. Hopefully with more planning I will be having dinner there instead of just drinks.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff -- I stayed 3 days in the hotel while attending a tech conference that was held in the hotel. I received a room upgrade -- fantastic view with Alcatraz in view. Lots of great places to eat near by, but be warned that if you walk, it's quite the hike back to the hotel which sits at the top of Nob Hill. Even a 3 or 4 block walk down the hills turns into a sweat-inducing climbing workout on the return trip.

Anyone can have a lovely, elegant wedding set up and designed specially and neatly only by iDesign events. It is up to you to decide the style, color, and taste of your event decor/planning. IDesign is located in the Bay Area, as well as Sacramento, California only and will travel for anything in your favor. Have a nice day and happy planning ! ( I personally love this business. )
This location is luckily the best place for any event in the bay area, in San Francisco. Good chance they will make it the most epic event and time of your life !

Really nice hotel. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well. My only complaint is that the refrigerator was so stocked full of drinks (automatically charged to your room if you remove them) that I couldn't keep my leftovers from dinner in it.

Reliving memory of our first wedding anniversary at the Fairmont...Never forget our dinner in the Tonga Room..excellent memory as we now look to our 62nd anniversary on October 10th. Wish we were there, but the memory is worth saving.

Didn't stay at the hotel, but enjoyed the interiors and the rooftop garden - beautiful views from there! It's a historic landmark and a chique place for events, worth stopping by if you are around as a tourist.

Went to the tonga room. It's a bit cheesy, but a fun experience if you go into it with the right expectations. If you enjoy tiki bars, this is worth doing once! A little on the pricey side, but you're paying for the iconic experience.

Stayed in the 2nd floor suite room 282. This suite was very large. One closet by the entrance. A second very large walk in closet by the very small bathroom. Typical size for the age of the building. Furnished very nicely. Bed felt good. Pillows could be better. One complaint was the room is located near the 50plus flags outside the front of the building. When the wind blows. The metal attachments make alot of noise. Front desk was nice enough to move us to another suite on the 3rd floor. Room 382. This was right on top of our previous room. So the flags could still be heard. But less so for some reason. We were closer to the flags then before. Overall. Very beautiful hotel. All the staff are very nice. And worth the stay
