Great atmosphere, fun environment, but a bit crowd...
Great atmosphere, fun environment, but a bit crowded since it's Christmas time. The lobby was really amazing!

Beautiful view of the city. Luxurious hotel. Fantastic 2-story Gingerbread House during Christmas Holiday.
Great steam room after a hill walk from mosone convention central.
The Tonga room was crowed, so we went to the upstairs bar for drinks and apps before a show at the Masonic. The drinks were perfectly mixed, and the cheese plate has a good selection.
Luxury landmark lodging offering plush quarters, some with bay views, plus refined dining & a spa.
Beautiful hotel, very good food, friendly, dedicated service and Mr Wolf concierge , here since 1974!!
Attended the Fairmont for Afternoon tea. Had reserved a table for 6. Was accommodated despite my party being a little late and the service was prompt and helpful. Both the tea and sandwiches/scones were delicious.
Good food, fine wine, quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
What an amazing place to stay. This beautiful hotel was one of the highlights of our stay in San Francisco. As the first stop on our honeymoon we had high expectations and the staff blew us away with a wonderful room upgrade and a bottle of champagne when we arrived. An absolutely wonderful experience and we are so glad we made this a part of our trip.
Got a great deal on priceline for a pretty nice room. I don't think it's worth the normal price, though.
Very nice hotel. Attending a conference here, as well as staying for the duration. The room I got was on the 19th floor, and has quite a nice view. The bed is comfortable, and the room is quite large.
Visited the Tonga Room. Great drinks and good food.
Came in for the life-size gingerbread house, and was floored by the magnificent building and lobby that surrounded it. Was a joy to see and walk through!
Loved the ballroom and the food caterer for our event. Was classy and old fashioned . Would host an event there
Beautiful! Great location. Wish we stayed longer. Bummer when we arrived late, checked in but getting to our room took a while because the elevators weren t working and we were tired. Some staff, the store s clerk and in the main dining restaurant ... hostess may have been having an off day.
Went to the tonga room for an event. Food and drinks were fantastic. Ambience was killer and the service was lovely!
BEST PUBLIC TOILET IN SAN FRANCISCO!!! With sink and vanity in handicapped stalls... Rooftop Garden is beautiful with a good view of downtown... Rooftop garden is a great place for housewife that misbehave
I went to the Tonga Room in the lower levels of the hotel and it was such as beautiful place! I would advise to make reservations online to avoid 1-2 hour wait times.
Great place to people watch. Grab a drink at the bar!
Tremendous hotel in San Francisco, it's worth it to pay for the experience
Food is just ok, song selection by performers is just ok also. Dinner for two was $200.
Its human-scale gingerbread house is one of its kind.
Got dinner and drinks downstairs at the Tonga Room. Then came upstairs to have a drink in the beautiful bar / lounge are. Very comfortable, relaxing live piano music. Great way to end a busy day.
Spectacular themed bar, Tonga Room, is a great place to relax with an island drink. My personal favorite is the Tonga Kong.
Excellent decor. Of special note are the holiday decorations.
The location is nice and fancy. The bar is really, really cool.
Quite nice place for relaxing and superb outdoor view & surely one can come here and surely enjoy great luxury experience.
This place has not only one of best luxury hotel but also got years of history.
Really worth spending money to stay....
I visited the Fairmont Hotel in 2004, because it was the filming location for the TV Series "Hotel"(1983 - 1988). I was fascinated.
Great hotel. Slow elevators. Service is awesome. I would definitely stay again.
I went for the gym and it was very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.
As if you're walking back in time a beautiful and thoughtfully orchestrated building with a rich history. Had a wonderful time at a fundraiser here recently. The thoughtful and detail oriented architecture was definitely noticed by all. Modernism is a part of our time now, but there is something that is easily appreciated by all when it comes to thoughtfulness- even when it's architecture. Highly recommended for a nice reminder of creativity and beauty from a great period in time.
Beautiful room in the Tower. Majority of the staff are great however I got negative attitude from a couple of front desk staff which was disappointing. Im a Fairmont Premier member and the desk person wouldnt honour my free welcome drink. Loved the hotel otherwise.
Nice bar if you are looking for a place to take your parents...or their parents.
It was quite a ride, and what a rush I've never been so bewildered.
I went to the Tonga room for some drinks with friends. What a fun experience! Loved the look of the bar and the drinks were delish!
The Tonga tiki bar has a great atmosphere and live, floating band in the pool. I didn't get to try the food but it smelled yummy
The lobby is doctorated beautifully for Christmas with a giant Christmas tree and a life-sized gingerbread house.
Attended HashiConf here. Wonderful venue for an event. Next time I'd like to stay here as a hotel guest.
I only have good things to say about the beauty salon at the Fairmont.
I was there this past July for my best friend wedding and I was part of the wedding party. The ladies who were supposed to do our makeup and hair were over 2 hours late. I called the beauty salon and they were able to accommodation some of us to do our hair, I cannot imagine what we would have done without the beauty salon service. They save us big time. we were able to be on time and the best part to have a happy bride. THANK YOU!
Best rooms for the discriminating traveler and don't forget the Tiki bar downstairs
Visited the Tonga Room Tiki Bar. Great music and atmosphere. Drinks can be pricey but there's not too many places like it in SF.
We went to the Lobby Bar last night, because it is listed as open until 2AM, like a proper SF hotel bar. Instead, they closed the bar as we arrived, at 12:15. Waitress would not take an order. I spoke to a manager, and asked her what the hell? She should be embarrassed that she was closing early. No response. Do not rely on this place, go to the Big Four instead, like we did. It's across the street and elegant and fun.
Very nice hotel - friendly staff, spotless facility, and great location.
Tonga room = Mai Tai was good, very limited gluten free options
Incredible stay. I can t sleep in hotels, but I slept like a newborn here. Very quiet, lovely furnishings. For someone who travels 50% of the year for work this is a godsend.
Initially, the service from the valet was not great. However, the desk staff and bartenders were fantastic. The room was comfortable, as was the bed, and everything was spotlessly clean.
It's the Fairmont ... facilities, staff, the outside seating in the garden. It all speaks for itself
Came here for a professional event that was held in the Crown Room on the top floor. The venue was beautiful and lavish, and we really enjoyed it. The lobby was almost *too* lavish. The views from the giant windows out to the city were absolutely gorgeous, probably the highlight of my time there.
Beautiful place to stay that's rich in history. Great views and great service. Rooftop gardens are a nice getaway.
Beautiful hotel but we had issues. Unfortunately the staff didn't follow though on promises. Turned a room issue into a larger problem that shouldn't have happened.
Scenic location and I was surprised by the spaciousness of my room. Staff, their service, the food and drinks, and upkeep of the facility were the excellence I expect at a Fairmont. It's a bit of a hike from the nearest Bart stations. The California mandated shower heads are uselessly low flow. The Chromecast feature built in to the room's TV worked once in 5 tries, and the wifi was too slow to watch videos during peak evening hours.
