Incredibly regal backdrop for any event. Stellar lobby, gold gilded conference rooms, super helpful staff.
Great location and wonderful views of San Francisco skyline from the property.
It was one of the best nights of sleep i have ever gotten.
Cannot visit SF without visiting this gorgeous landmark hotel
The hosts we're amazing and helpful. They have a Christmas tree and giant gingerbread house that you can walk through in the lobby during the holidays! We visited the Tonga room, definitely check it out!
Beautiful and famous hotel in the heart of San Fran. Staff was amazingly nice, thoughtful, and caring. Highly recommend.
Amazing hotel! It looks very elegant and classy. It has a very clean and well-maintained room, facilities and amenities. The staff were very nice and polite to us. They made sure that we had everything that we needed during out stay. The service was very good and fast. The food was good! I highly recommend!
We went to see the gingerbread house on display there. It was really cool, with windows, train, and you can walk through it.
Nice place. Expensive parking, expensive Wi-Fi, not even business center is free. Expect to pay more than for your room.
classic, elegant, and modern - in a beautiful location
Being born and raised in the City this place holds a place in my heart
It is always just as fabulous as I remember it years ago. An elegant classy hotel like no other.
Wedding there - amazing view, loved the garden. The food was not as incredible as the hotel but still good.
Historic Iconic San Francisco Hotel atop Nob Hill. A Must see and Visit when touring SF. Original Location where the 80's "Aaron Spelling' show "Hotel" was filmed. Starring(James Brolin and Connie Sellecca) was called on the show the St. Gregory Hotel. Must experience their World Famous "TIKI" Room with their famous Tropical Drinks where it Rains inside(A must visit).
No way JOSE! DO NOT go there with children. 160.00 for breakfast really? my girls had a bowl of cereal. Just awful the walls are made of paper and however opulent the lobby don't let it fool you the staff except for bellman Eldridge-Who was amazing! the rest of the staff especially in the restaurant was simply standoffish and rude. We have stayed in extravagant hotels and this one missed the boat big time . All show and nothing to hold on to. No one mentioned the restaurant "TONGA" room no one mentioned the cafe in the basement that serves lilly coffee. NOTHING was communicated! instead we were hushed away from the restaurant and from using the house car several times. How dare they behave in such a manner! Really save your money stay somewhere else. NOT GOOD
Had snacks and drinks at Tonga. All the drinks were amazing, especially their Singapore Sling.
The food left a lot to be desired. I had the fried rice, some of which seemed under done and there was only one very lonely piece of pineapple in the whole dish.
Atmosphere is great and very Tiki.
Beautiful building, lots to see very nice view from the conference room. Arrived between Happy hour and tea though which was a bummer.
Astonishingly beautiful common areas, and more than four floors of it. Similar to the grand hotels of Europe, steeped in San Francisco charm. Adequate, and remodeled rooms, especially the Tamalpais Suite (Room 1810), and 6000 square foot Penthouse Suite. The valet Department is adequate, but not extraordinary, and a few times even rude. The front desk staff, and concierge communicate with each other and give false information constantly in a case of, "the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing". Text messaging the hotel is a nice, and responsive touch. Housekeeping is not thorough, as my rooms needed vacuuming, and robes, but otherwise acceptable. Guests were a combination of domestic and foreign, and during the Thanksgiving holiday, a number of families.
We've always wanted to stay here, and found a great Sunday night price. The upgrade charge to a King View room was very reasonable. We didn't hang around in the hotel much, but our time there can't be complained about. Don't miss the Tonga Room downstairs . . . .
Iconic hotel exceeded expectations! From the curbside greeting by liveried bellmen, to the front desk staff, to the in room and hotel dining, we were impressed with professional quality of service. This storied hotel is a must for any visitor. Can't wait to go back,
Came here for a fundraising event on the top floor. Nice big room with great views of the city.
San Francisco icon and known for the Tonga Room. Now located in front of Tony Bennett Way.
Spectacular Christmas display in lobby, plus excellent customer service at reception and around the hotel. Room spacious and comfortable albeit with classic decor. When I called to complain about adjacent lift/elevator noise in tower 01 room (avoid if possible) I was immediately offered a room move which was done while I was out the next day
Went to the Fairmont for annual family fun. I live in SF and have been many times and stayed for weekend getaways. Went to sit in bar area to get a drink and were told if we weren't staying we would have to wait for a table. Hello it was EMPTY. Went to bar yo get a drink bartender was geumpy. Very sad the Fairmont has gone down in service.
Staying at your Hotel was very unforgettable! The food was very delicious and the place was also very cleaned and wide. I also admired the kindness of the staves and they were all very professional and friendly. I will surely be back in your hotel! I must strongly and highly recommend you to everyone!
The Fairmont is absolutely beautiful! Love going there. Had a great meal and lots of fun!
This wannabe 5* hotel has some way to go before callling itself a luxury hotel. The prices are horrendous for the quality and service you receive. Plus point is that it is in a good location.
Went there for breakfast buffet. No problems, high quality tasty food.
Went there for a work function, beautiful view from back conference room
A room with AN AMAZING view of the Bay and Alcatraz. Lobby of the hotel is truly impressive. Love all the history. Hotel is on the top of a hill so everything is a nice down hill walk and ride back :) Room is nicely appointed, nice shower, comfy bed, nothing really remarkable but the view really makes up for it! Worth every cent.
All I saw of the Fairmont was the lobby but it was an beautiful lobby.
Went to the Tonga Bar. Great drinks but a bit pricey. Worth it for the live music.
One of the coolest hotels I ve stayed at in SF. The Fairmont the historic look and feel while not coming off as being super dated. Not many hotels get this right, and they do. Both the bathroom and room itself were very spacious. I didn t interact with the staff enough to comment on the level of service but the girl that checked me in was nice. Sitting atop Nob Hill you get great views of both the city and bay whether you re in your room or on the street. Obviously it s not going to be the cheapest option, but you get what you pay for (and it s worth the money at the Fairmont).
Good hotel, great location, rooms could be bigger/modernized
Stayed here for 2 nights and it was an amazing experience. The staff are all so accommodating.
I went to the Tonga Room bar. There are strong drinks, but they are expensive.
The Tonga Room located inside the Fairmont is an amazing place for drinks. With their creative cocktail menu and decorations, there really isn't any other experience like it in the city. The restaurant surrounds a pool in which a live band performs in the middle of on certain occasions. Truly a night to remember!
Beautiful historic hotel. We only stayed one night but is was by all accounts a 5 Star place. The room service was excellent, comfortable beds and black out curtains, amazing view of the Bay and Coit tower from 10th floor, friendly and responsive staff. It's expensive but you certainly get what you pay for. I will definitely go back.
Great customer service, beautiful and historic hotel. Great views dependent upon room choice. Great location in the city. Room service is subpar, all around great experience.
Tonga Room is the best. Great Tiki atmosphere, food and cocktails.
Visited briefly to eat at the Tonga Room. The hotel itself is nice and in an amazing location.
The luster of yesterday has faded. Too expensive for too little. There are many fine hotels in San Francisco . Avoid the tattered old lady.
Nice place especially on Christmas where you can see a ginger house
Hands down the best hotel in all of the Bay area. There's a reason they call it the White House of the West!
The Fairmont is hands down the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed.
Wonderful Hotel overlooking the city. The staff and the hotel are amazing.
Outstanding and an upscale hotel. The restaurant is great, some of the best breakfasts I've had in my life. The service was excellent and the atmosphere beautiful. Definitely recommended if you're looking for that special luxury visit to SF.
We loved the hotel, the food was ok. Room service food wasn t really that great and I feel the breakfast could have been a bit better. Overall great service and hospitality! We had to order a fridge to keep our kids snacks and drinks in. The rooms were clean and spacious. I would prefer more storage to unpack my stuff but we made it work. The unit was full of snacks and a fully stocked mini fridge which wasn t very useful to us would have been nice to just have more storage. Didn t like the fact that there was so much garbage kept in the ice room.
That hotel is beautiful and full of history and when you walk in it s amazing! A great place to stay for someone without kids. Nothing hear by to grab a quick coffee or muffin. Can t just go for a walk, kids can t climb those hills alone.
The service at the restaurant was wonderful. The food quite good and the atomosphere had an air of laid back sophistication.
So far not a good experience, but I hope it will get better. Our walls are very thin and I could hear our neighbor vomiting all morning.
Great location, attentive service and very comfortable beds. Only disappointing aspect to our stay was a lack of water pressure in the showers (obviously a minor matter in the overall scheme of things). Would definitely return to this hotel.
Just checked in today & I really regret staying here! As soon as I got to my room I took my shoes off to relax & when I went in to use the bathroom I stepped in water that was leaking from the toilet... Absolutely disgusting. TOILET water! Ugh!!! After staying at the Fairmont in Monaco, I figured the Fairmont in SF would be a nice place to stay as well, but I am really wishing I d stayed at St. Regis instead!!
Old school Hotel with excellent service. Breakfast is very good
Went to the Tonga room for the first time and it was great. Band was good and drinks were delicious.
Beautiful historic hotel with all the amenities. Staff was friendly and beds are comfortable. Walking in the nearby neighborhood is quite a trek with steep inclines.. so you don't need to hit the gym.
Amazing, historic structure. The staff is great. This is truly 5 star hotel.
Amazing hotel.
Like from the 19 century
Had so much fun at the Fairmont San Francisco! Location was great!! Beautiful city views! Lobby is gorgeous (and it has nothing to do with the fact that have a room named after me lol!). Customer service was amazing! It was my husbands birthday and while we were at dinner they slipped a sweet treat into our room for him. Highly highly recommend! And if your travel dates are flexible, you can get a room for a really reasonable rate.
Room was great(!!!), but breakfast was insanely priced (100$) and very much not worth it. By the time they corrected the missing condiments and wrong sides, the main dishes were cold. Check-out staff (after a long time) gave me 1/2 off, which seems great until I thought well worst 50$ breakfast I've ever paid for. The room once again though was fabulous.
Old grandeur and possibly well overrated in terms of value for money. I personally prefer modern hotels but who enjoys slightly snobbish and dated environments will be well kept here
My favorite balcony in San Francisco! Wonderful upscale hotel run by a friendly staff.
This was our first stay at a Fairmont hotel and it by far exceeded expectations. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. Staff is friendly, rooms are nice and the amenities are just right. We even enjoyed the cocktail hour. We will definitely seek out Fairmont hotels for future trips!
Very clean and friendly staff. The views of the city are stunning.
