Beautiful location. We had dinner and drinks at the Tonga Room, which has a great atmosphere and a really fun vibe. The drinks were outstanding, but the food was just ok (especially for for the price). Unfortunately they don't take reservations for parties of less than ten, so we had a long wait for a table. Also, there is a cover charge for the live music (wish starts at 8pm) if you are in the restaurant while it's playing. So you can show up at 7pm and still get stuck with the charge, which is per person, not party. So that was a little frustrating. Overall though, it was a really fun experience in a beautiful hotel.

The rooms are luxurious and comfortable, having been fully refurbished. Beds were large and comfortable which was a plus. Standard amenities provided, with free gym and wifi.

However, service needs to be stepped up. Stayed for 4 nights and on two nights, the staff took away the mugs but didn t give us clean ones back. When requested for them, they didn t come on the first call on both occasions (after waiting half an hour).

We had an appointment to view the Crown room for an upcoming company event. The space was absolutely gorgeous and the views were amazing! The service was great and very accommodating. I'm looking forward to working with the staff to make this a memorable event.

Pros: Great ambiance. Super friendly attentive staff. STRONG cocktails. Good Music Loved how they allow seating if you have half your party. Food is really good Cons: As much as I appreciated the strong drinks they didnt taste good. Extra pineapple juice would do the trick. Tasted like a high school party hard liquor punch. I would have loved to raved about delicious tiki drinks, but can't. +$15/person to stay for dinner after happy hour. They said it's for the band. We were gonna get charged +$3.50 per person if we ate the birthday cupcakes we brought to our surprise birthday party there. :( We had to eat it in the lobby. Overall fun place. Would come again.

Wonderful old school historic hotel feels more like an East Coast Ritz Carlton than the modernized actual Ritz a few blocks away. Special attractions include a multi-story gingerbread house and 60 ft Christmas tree with champagne lounge for the winter holidays. Caters more to tourist trade than anything else.

I was excited to stay at The Fairmont this visit to The City. I have stayed at The Fairmont Heritage Place Ghirardelli Square. The 1 bedroom suite was absolutely exquisite. The service was perfect on all levels. Couldn t have asked for a more amazing stay at Fairmont Heritage
I arrived at the Fairmont on Nob Hill around 2230. Valet and the Bellman were right there to provide assistance. I asked the Bellman if I need to call him once I got in my room. He said no we will handle it all. I will be right up. I check in without any issues. I get to my room waited 30 minutes no luggage. I called down to the front desk. It was the same person that checked me in. She said you were to give me your claim ticket the Bellman gave you. Not is a pleasant voice. I told her I asked the Bellman if I needed to call once I was in my room. He told me no, it would be right up. Most hotels I check into it is a seamless process.
The grounds are beautiful and very clean. My room was spotless with a view of Alcatraz, Coit Tower and all the bay. Bed is very comfortable with nice linens. I ordered room service late on evening. I ordered lobster macaroni and cheese. It had absolutely no flavor at all, it was such a disappointment.
I sleep in so my no service was on my door. I don t require my room to be cleaned daily. The third day of my stay I left the room around 1300 took the sign off my door and spoke to the women cleaning another room. Asked them to please clean my room that I would be out for several hours. I arrived back to the Fairmont at 0130. There was a large SUV sitting in the valet area. I pulled up next to them.Gathered my belongings and started to get out of my car. They were Sketchy at best. I didn t feel safe, no valet arrived after waiting 10 minutes. Not one Fairmont employee in sight. I didn t feel safe getting out. The people in their car was smoking a pipe they passed around. After 15 minutes I ran in there was no one at the front desk. There was a janitor end of lobby. Then a man came out to the front desk. He didn t apologize he took my keys and said they would get it parked.
On departure it took 35 minutes for Valet to bring my car. They parked it on the street. The bellman suggested I go back in to the lobby to stay warm. He was very kind. He got my car packed up so quickly after the long wait. A gentleman standing next to me was upset for the long wait. He told me the Fairmont uses subcontractors to valet there guest cars. The contractors are responsible for Fairmont, Intercontinental Mark Hopkins and one more in the area. After midnight there is one valet so he is not out front. He is used to deliver request from guest. Traveling single safety in very important. Four Season San Francisco always has 2 security posted at front door at all time.
It was wonderful to wake up and see all the lovely Christmas decorations that were placed during the night. It is absolutely stunning for Christmas.

One of three classic old school regal San Francisco hotel on top of Nob Hill. Been to many public functions here throughout the years. Recently went to the Tonga Room with some out of town guests and had a great time in a Tiki Polynesian homage to by gone era with large, shareable strong rum punch bowl with 4 straws. The live dance band played on top of a movable barge with rain and lightning playing in the background.

There are good and bad things about this place. Pretty fancy lobby and very polite, helpful stuff. However, $14 for a day of pretty average WiFi? Cleaning ladies stopped replacing bathrobes after the day one.

Location: this place is situated on the top of the hill, which makes it kinda hard to reach by walking.

I've been to better hotels in SF that cost less or same. With way better location and views.

Very nice place, I really like going here. Lots of history and impressive architecture. The Fairmont has hosted my Kiwanis Club for over 98 years and has always taken care of us. I highly recommend this Fairmont and the fairmont in San Jose

The Fairmont ruined my wedding. I booked four days but they failed to bring me my luggage from the car until 2 hours after I arrived. They lost my wedding shoes. I had to get married in flipflops. I booked a room with two beds, they only gave me one bed, I had to request a pullout bed for my sister. I cried and cried. I checked out of the Fairmont after the first horribe day and stayed at a motel on Lombard Street. I do not like to think about my wedding day, it brings me to tears.

The Fairmont San Francisco is a beautiful, luxury hotel with an attentive, courteous staff and beautiful decor.

The rooms are lusciously appointed with high thread-count bed linens and a generous assortment of bathroom amenities.

WiFi is fast with no dropouts.

From the moment you pull up under the Porte Cochere to be greeted by the valet and bellman, you enter another age, one of elegance and civility unhurried by the swirl of modern life. This is exactly what I expected - and more.

The Gingerbread House is remarkable, and the atmosphere and piano music was lovely. Location is slightly removed from Union Square, but if driving, very accessible; if walking, prepare for an epic hike.

My husband and I had a fabulous one night stay at this beautiful hotel. I was overwhelmed by the friendly hospitality starting with Sarah at the front desk. Our room was immaculate, everyone we encountered had a smile on their face and a helpful suggestion when asked. We will definitely come back when we make it back to San Francisco.

Stop in and look up at the high ornate ceilings and surroundings. Find the outdoor patio for fantastic views of financial district or down Powell for bay views. Check out the ballroom where Tony Bennett got his start.

We had a great stay at the Fairmont! The lobby was filled with Christmas trees and the gingerbread house was just amazing. Of course we indulged in the wonderful Moet champagne and the wine tasting. What an incredible place to embrace the spirit of Christmas! Of course we could ve done without the smell of marijuana in the lobby (especially with all the young kids running around!) but thankfully that dissipated after awhile Sign of the times I guess. Love the Fairmont!!!

This Beautiful hotel has great views of the peninsula and went all out this year decorating for Christmas. There was a huge tree in the foyer and a two story life sized ginger bread house. They even had an area set aside for children to write letters to Santa.

Took way to long to get drinks, having one bartender serving the whole floor is ridiculous. We sat after waiting 25 minutes at the bar and then waited another 30 for our drinks. Asked for water and one glass had spit and God knows what on the rim, the second one had cherry at the bottom, and the third had chunks of indistinguishable God knows what. FFS waiting sucks but having disgusting glasses you serve customers is worse.

Went to the Tonga room for drinks. The drinks are actually not bad AFTER you let the ice melt for about a half hour. Otherwise it's too sweet, way too sweet. There's not enough table space for every group to get drinks and the acoustics are terrible, but it's a tiki bar so those are the least of your concerns I suppose.

Nice hotel, but WAY too expensive. I had a discounted rate because I was attending a conference. Non-conference price was $850 a night for a regular room. I paid $320ish with my conference discount.

One of my favorite hotels! The Fairmont has a great location overlooking the bay, a great lobby, and decent rooms. The Tonga room is a fun bar in the basement. Only complaint - the Fairmont has a terrible gym.

A lovely grand old hotel on Nob Hill, this hotel is across the street from the Mark Hopkins Hotel and Huntington Park. The hotel has an elegant old San Francisco feel with an impeccable and friendly staff willing to make your stay special. My room was nice but I would have preferred a bathroom with a tub. I also was surprised that there was not a radio in the room as I love to play classical music quietly when I'm in my room. My only option was to pay $9.95 for music (don't think so) on the television or play through my smartphone (which I don't like to do because it powers down my battery too fast). The staff offered me the use of an iPod dock but it wasn't compatible with my older iPod. The Tonga room is fun and yes, very cheesy, but the drinks are reasonable and good and the inside rain effect is fun. I walked every where with no problem but, if you're not used to hills or out of shape, select a hotel below Nob Hill.

The best hotel in San francisco
