Although it is a very high end hotel, it is good for kids and families. The views of the city are phenomenal! During the holidays the decorating is wonderful with a life sized gingerbread house!

Awesome hotel with super clean nice sized rooms. Hotel staff is very hospitable. Spectacular view from rooftop patio/garden. Breathtaking views of the bay and city from the rooms in the tower

Always go for a martini when I am in town. Have not been in many years. Was sad to see the original bar off lobby was gone. This claims to be the birthplace of the martini! How could you? Secondly and more disappointing, the top floor rotating bar is closed and only open for events. This was the best view in the city. We used to go just before sunset and watch the entire bay are light up. It was incredible. No more. They have redone a large portion of the lobby into a great place for cocktails but it can get crowded. The bartenders were not the fastest either so the wait can be long. Time to move on. This is definitely a case of change for the worse. So sad.

Service was amazing with everything they provided for the event. Also, the food and drinks were deliciously made. The room was nicely decorated with very attentive customer service. I strongly recommend this place for a fun evening.

BEAUTIFUL hotel! Our Versailles Suite was jaw dropping, although the pull out sofa needed a new mattress BAD. Being from clear across the country I was pretty surprised by the price tag attached the the valet...and not having any other option, but that was my own lack of knowledge. Hated that Tonga is closed on Monday and Tuesday :-(

We stayed here for one night. Nice place. Bed was hard and the pillows were hard. Customer service is awesome though. Wish there was a fridge and microwave in to room but I know it's not that kind of place. Stayed there because we wanted to go to the Tonga room restaurant. Great place.
Overall very cool stay

I was at the Fairmont for a conference and it was a fantastic space, well laid out, easy to get around and with enough amenities in terms of shops, bar to keep me happy.

I did not stay at the Fairmont so it would be unfair of me to comment on the rooms.

Upgraded my room to King bed and with Bay View - room no. 652 - Fantastic room. Walk-in Closet, Nice Sheet and Amazing Big Old Window. Highly Recommended! The only cons: no free wifi in room but I was alright with that.

I met up with some friends and we had dinner and drinks while watching Warriors game. It has a very nice decor and the food was very good. Especially the burger. The beer was at San Francisco prices. My only qualm was the that there was a slight smell of stale beer in the bar area.

So much history in this landmark hotel. And for music aficionados this is the hotel where Tony Bennett sang his signature song "I Left My Heart In San Francisco" at the infamous Venetian Room.

This was my 13th visit to the Fairmont SF and we spend a week here every Thanksgiving. It was a fabulous visit, thanks in large part because of Pricilla Waksmunski and her helpful and friendly customer service. Here's a tip that most experienced guests know about - don't miss the French onion soup and the popovers. They are world class!

I was booked at the Fairmont on business and given an inside room. It wasn't large or particularly extravagant, but it did the job beautifully. Given how small the room was they made good use of the space. Providing a queen size bed, desk, mini bar, and walk in closet but still not feeling cramped makes this space kinda unique. It's certainly and obviously an older historic building but its been updated and modernized in a number of areas so that it still feels fresh. The bed was comfortable and I had no issue sleeping. Suffered no noise issues and the blinds blacked out practically all light from outside at night. Service from all the staff I encountered was courteous and took care to make sure things were going well with my stay. Yet still one complaint I have is that my room didn't have any privacy curtains even though the rod and rail for them was hanging. And having asked on multiple occasions to have curtains hung, the issue was not rectified. This small issue did little to tarnish the overall experience. The location was perfect. Located right atop nob hill and at the intersection of Powell and California makes it super easy to catch either of the cable car lines. For those who worry about cleanliness, the room was spotless every time I came back. The bathroom was completely refreshed and if it weren't for my items in the room, it looked as if I had just checked in. One really neat feature the hotel has in the rooms are that the TVs feature Chromecast devices so you can cast netflix from your phone. The problem is you have to download this app on your phone to make it work. Plus my TV would keep going back to tv channels while I was watching my show. It was annoying but it worked sometimes.
Overall I did enjoy my stay and absolutely would return. Hopefully though next time I do get a room with a working TV and some curtains.

From the outside the hotel looks very appealing, but the rooms are old and very small. But what bothered us most was the arrogant and unfriendly staff, who never even managed to greet us.

Service so far has been exceptional, rooms are very nice, spacious, and comfortable. We dined at the Laurel Court restaurant last night as well, the food was very good. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

Nicole and diving. $76 for parking each night. $15 dollars for wifi each day. The bed felt like it had a water proof sheet on it. Mini fridge can't be used for personal items because it's crammed with the hotels overpriced snacks. I thought luxury hotels had robes in the bathroom but apparently not. Pillows were excrement Lumpy. I booked this room on hot wire for $175 and is usually a $450 a night room, still felt like I over paid.
