I had Afternoon Tea at Laurel Court Restaurant at the Fairmont. The tea, croissants, tea sandwiches and deserts were all delicious. The service was excellent and the atmosphere beautiful. I love coming to Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont because it is such a treat. I will definitely be back!

The Fairmont is a classy old hotel. Love the lobby and the location atop Nob Hill. Rooms of all varieties and price ranges (well, from not cheap to really pricey). You get what you pay for.

I do think it is time to close the Tiki room though. It is getting stale.

Everything that you would expect in terms of decor from a large and luxurious hotel.

I stayed for three days and each morning that I came down to breakfast the queue to get into the dining room was sufficiently long to put me off which was disappointing. All the guy on the desk at the entrance would say when I asked how long it would take to be seated was, you need to join the back of the queue, which was actually rather rude.

My bedroom was very well appointed and had a great view. Unfortunately I could hear the noise of the lift which was disturbing.

Tried to get into the Tonga room for a birthday and after waiting an hour, we left the line. People kept cutting behind us and groups of people would go through the "VIP line" without the general line moving. Tonga room is a tourist trap but the upstairs bar lounge is a much better environment.

stay'd one night 12/15-16th for corp. xmas party.Parking???be prepared to shell out $61.00 dollars(inc.tax) per nite.
No robes in our room.
Elevators extremely slow...5-10 min.wait all the time.
Sunday brunch....completely under staffed. One (1) cook for the omelett bar...with only one waffle maker....the line was 10-15 minutes. (will say the cook was working as fast as he could...but was limited due to not enough burners(which were electric..wtf).
Mgmt completely void...there was no direction for the employees.
$30.00 per person for a poor buffet..and they tack on a 18% gratuity on top of it....for basically a 'self serve' buffet. Marriot/Hyatt make this hotel look loke amatures.
This hotel is over rated...you can do better for your money

Just wow. Is almost like being in a scene from the shining. Very grandiose. Was wonderful night for our first time in San Francisco. What made it even More memorable was that when we stayed the Italian president was also at the hotel. It felt like some form of Providence since we are both 4th generation Italian Americans.

For the price you pay it would be great to avoid a whole host of extra charges once you enter the place. Seriously how can the US be still so far behind the rest of the world on the most simplest of things? Was expecting to be wowed but ultimately disappointed. Pity ...

Great place. Once walked into the lobby, and the smell is incredible. WiFi is not free. I guess when you stay here, you should be able to afford extra wifi charge. We got the standard room which is across from intercontinental hotel. I saw a tiny bit of the water from afar. We arrived earlier and they didn't have a room ready, if I want to get a room right away, it was an extra $100/ night. It was my birthday weekend, and my hub tried to get a better view room, but again it was an extra $100/night. We got neither. When we were in the room, we got a complimentary sparkling wine and cheese, I guessed because they didn't meet our requests.
Bed was awesome. Loud noise from outside and from the guest above/next to ours, old building I guess? This hotel allows pets. There are so many hotels in SF, I will try others next time.

One of a kind hotel. Hosted several United States Presidents, foreign dignitaries, Hollywood professionals, famous people from around the globe. Marble every where, classy yet homey. Nothing can compare!

Fairmont is definitely a very fancy and luxurious hotel, Rooms were extremely clean, staff was really friendly, everything from the service part was nothing but perfect... but compared to the $60/night hotel I used before it had awful view (actually no view), the room was extremely dark, and here comes the fun part... in 2019 they still charge you for Internet! :D and what is even more fun! When you pay the $14/night for their 'Business' internet you get the surprise... it is only 0.2MB/s... hardly usable for anything but text/chat communication which is ridiculous in 2019 ........... Totally not worth it in my opinion

There s a reason this hotel is world renowned. The location and view are terrific at the top of Sacramento street. The only downside is you can t walk anywhere without going down a steep hill which means eventually you ll have to climb back up. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the interior is extravagant. Try to spend at least one night here if you can afford it.

Wonderfully clean room! The bed was very comfy. The amenities were perfect for our stay. The room was nice and quiet most of the time. The concierge and other staff were incredibly helpful with any questions we had. The dining was also excellent.

The lobby and general areas are very nice. The rooms are outdated. The bathroom door would not even close in mine. Check out is at 11am! I spend a lot of time in 5 star properties... And this has a long way to go.

I have to say that this is a wonderful Hotel. Beautifully place in San Francisco. It would be even better if it wasn't for the wind. The only thing I wish they had is I wish they had (in the bathroom) a fan that you can actually turn on manually by a switch.. everything else went beyond my expectation.

Really nice hotel, has old bones and history. The hallways smell a little funny (it's old) but the rooms don't. Was on the phone with the operator and she transferred me as I was about to ask another question. Two mins later she called back to apologize and see what else I needed. That's top shelf service and reflective of the entire hotel. Great 5 star hotel.

Drinks and food in the Tonga Room are fantastic. Band plays after 8pm. Wonderful, will go again. If you are spending the night at the Fairmont, make a reservation at the Tonga Room. If you walk in, you may wait for walkin seating but it is worth it. Excellent.

The Fairmont is still a great place to go see at Christmas time and the staff is lovely. But it needs tighter management. Cleaner rooms, better logistics team for events, and better service in the restaurant. This hotel could be THE only place to go in the city but it feels like it's resting on its laurels. Come on, Fairmont, pick up the pace.

I was able to take a brief tour through the Fairmont with the SF public library city guides tour of nob hill. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and I highly recommend spending some time exploring the grounds, especially the rooftop garden!

This place is amazing, I stay here whenever I'm in San Francisco. Clean, quiet, the breakfast buffet is incredible! They even do a giant gingerbread house for the holiday season, it's beautiful!
