The Fairmont is a landmark property in San Francisco and lives up to its reputation as a beautiful, well maintained facility with incredibly good service by the staff.
A wonderful hotel in Nob Hill area. Historic building, which can mean that some parts of the hotel are looking their age. Friendly staff. Excellent concierge.
I had Afternoon Tea at Laurel Court Restaurant at the Fairmont. The tea, croissants, tea sandwiches and deserts were all delicious. The service was excellent and the atmosphere beautiful. I love coming to Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont because it is such a treat. I will definitely be back!
The Fairmont is a classy old hotel. Love the lobby and the location atop Nob Hill. Rooms of all varieties and price ranges (well, from not cheap to really pricey). You get what you pay for.
I do think it is time to close the Tiki room though. It is getting stale.
Everything that you would expect in terms of decor from a large and luxurious hotel.
I stayed for three days and each morning that I came down to breakfast the queue to get into the dining room was sufficiently long to put me off which was disappointing. All the guy on the desk at the entrance would say when I asked how long it would take to be seated was, you need to join the back of the queue, which was actually rather rude.
My bedroom was very well appointed and had a great view. Unfortunately I could hear the noise of the lift which was disturbing.
Tried to get into the Tonga room for a birthday and after waiting an hour, we left the line. People kept cutting behind us and groups of people would go through the "VIP line" without the general line moving. Tonga room is a tourist trap but the upstairs bar lounge is a much better environment.
Excellent house in the style of a classic grand hotel.
The rooms in the tower are very clairaudient.
The life size gingerbreab house is a must visit during Christmas. Enjoyed it.
Arguably the best hotel in San Francisco. Obama stays here frequently. Their giant gingerbread house is awesome when it's constructed before Christmas.
Staying at this hotel created one of the best memories of my life. Grand and cozy.
Good size and well appointed rooms. I prefer other parts of town as more accessible to go out and explore without having to climb lots of hills :)
stay'd one night 12/15-16th for corp. xmas party.Parking???be prepared to shell out $61.00 dollars(inc.tax) per nite.
No robes in our room.
Elevators extremely slow...5-10 min.wait all the time.
Sunday brunch....completely under staffed. One (1) cook for the omelett bar...with only one waffle maker....the line was 10-15 minutes. (will say the cook was working as fast as he could...but was limited due to not enough burners(which were electric..wtf).
Mgmt completely void...there was no direction for the employees.
$30.00 per person for a poor buffet..and they tack on a 18% gratuity on top of it....for basically a 'self serve' buffet. Marriot/Hyatt make this hotel look loke amatures.
This hotel is over rated...you can do better for your money
Just wow. Is almost like being in a scene from the shining. Very grandiose. Was wonderful night for our first time in San Francisco. What made it even More memorable was that when we stayed the Italian president was also at the hotel. It felt like some form of Providence since we are both 4th generation Italian Americans.
Nice place but the bed want great for me. Too soft.
Had dinner in the tonga room. It was a great experience and the food was very good, with brilliant service. The cocktails were excellent.
Beautiful historic hotel with good conference rooms.
Really enjoyed staying here but the Tiki bar was lame.

Ole school hotel
.. very nice
For the price you pay it would be great to avoid a whole host of extra charges once you enter the place. Seriously how can the US be still so far behind the rest of the world on the most simplest of things? Was expecting to be wowed but ultimately disappointed. Pity ...
Amazing hotel. Great design and exceptional service.
Loved everything in the hotel except their business attitude... I haven't been charged for the internet from any hotel around the world in the past 5 years... No complementary water .. gorgeous backyard garden
Went to the bar at the Fairmont, amazing interior and decor. Great drinks, and the live band was amazing
We went to see gingerbread house. The hotel is amazing during holiday season.
Excellent service ! Treatment with Royalty !***** 5 star hotel
The rooms were fabulous. Expansive views of the city and amazing hospitality.
Fine classic with exemplary service and the Tonga bar.
Just loved the place got a corner room with 360 degree view of the San Fransisco landscape .. Tonga has great drinks and food. Best hotel in SFO for sure.
Great location and nice rooms as expected, but the service doesn t come close to measuring up with what I expected. Very disappointing.
On the plus side the gym is very nice.
Great place. Once walked into the lobby, and the smell is incredible. WiFi is not free. I guess when you stay here, you should be able to afford extra wifi charge. We got the standard room which is across from intercontinental hotel. I saw a tiny bit of the water from afar. We arrived earlier and they didn't have a room ready, if I want to get a room right away, it was an extra $100/ night. It was my birthday weekend, and my hub tried to get a better view room, but again it was an extra $100/night. We got neither. When we were in the room, we got a complimentary sparkling wine and cheese, I guessed because they didn't meet our requests.
Bed was awesome. Loud noise from outside and from the guest above/next to ours, old building I guess? This hotel allows pets. There are so many hotels in SF, I will try others next time.
Christmas trimmings. Great - gingerbread house excellent!!!
Seriously, you have to ask? It's like asking if "Exile On Main Street" is a good album. This place rocks!
Went to Tonga - a hidden gem inside the hotel, includes fun straw drinks and an indoor rain forest.
One of a kind hotel. Hosted several United States Presidents, foreign dignitaries, Hollywood professionals, famous people from around the globe. Marble every where, classy yet homey. Nothing can compare!
Fairmont is definitely a very fancy and luxurious hotel, Rooms were extremely clean, staff was really friendly, everything from the service part was nothing but perfect... but compared to the $60/night hotel I used before it had awful view (actually no view), the room was extremely dark, and here comes the fun part... in 2019 they still charge you for Internet! :D and what is even more fun! When you pay the $14/night for their 'Business' internet you get the surprise... it is only 0.2MB/s... hardly usable for anything but text/chat communication which is ridiculous in 2019 ........... Totally not worth it in my opinion
Great hotel. Stayed here for 3 nights in December 2019. Really enjoyed it, service was good, room had a great style and felt really clean hotel lobby is stunning and good bars. Location is also great.
Accommodating staff. Great room and view. Dining and catering were hit and miss. Bar carries excellent choices of distilled spirits.
A beautiful and historic place with a lot to see and do - great food and service
Clean, friendly staff. Staff goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is great. Views from room were wonderful. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Nob Hill area.
Was here for a conference. Beautiful decor but has few public restrooms and no water fountains. WiFi signal strength was weak, possibly due to the old construction materials.
The christmas decorations were nice, especially the facade by the restaurant
There s a reason this hotel is world renowned. The location and view are terrific at the top of Sacramento street. The only downside is you can t walk anywhere without going down a steep hill which means eventually you ll have to climb back up. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the interior is extravagant. Try to spend at least one night here if you can afford it.
Really wish to come for this Hospitality again, really helpful staff
Amazing hotel with a historic bent. Rooms are huge and service is superb. You will not be disappointed!
Great location, good service and really nice rooms.
Incredible as usual what more could you ask for from the Fairmount it is not a kind of glad Mark of San Francisco been around forever
Wonderfully clean room! The bed was very comfy. The amenities were perfect for our stay. The room was nice and quiet most of the time. The concierge and other staff were incredibly helpful with any questions we had. The dining was also excellent.
The Christmas gingerbread house is up. The tree and other Christmas decorations are yet to come. The hotel is always lovely at Christmas.
The lobby and general areas are very nice. The rooms are outdated. The bathroom door would not even close in mine. Check out is at 11am! I spend a lot of time in 5 star properties... And this has a long way to go.
Amazing rooms with a view, extremely clean, silent, gorgeous bathrooms!
Employees are fantastic. Food is great and the position is strategic.
I have to say that this is a wonderful Hotel. Beautifully place in San Francisco. It would be even better if it wasn't for the wind. The only thing I wish they had is I wish they had (in the bathroom) a fan that you can actually turn on manually by a switch.. everything else went beyond my expectation.
Very nice lobby and restaurant, I choose the soup & salad that was ok not great. Service was really nice and the desert was good.
They charge $ 15 for cover, even when you go to dinner. It's fine without being anything spectacular. There's live music and it's nice.
Service was OK ( the prices you have to pay) food was better then expected
Really nice hotel, has old bones and history. The hallways smell a little funny (it's old) but the rooms don't. Was on the phone with the operator and she transferred me as I was about to ask another question. Two mins later she called back to apologize and see what else I needed. That's top shelf service and reflective of the entire hotel. Great 5 star hotel.
Drinks and food in the Tonga Room are fantastic. Band plays after 8pm. Wonderful, will go again. If you are spending the night at the Fairmont, make a reservation at the Tonga Room. If you walk in, you may wait for walkin seating but it is worth it. Excellent.
The Fairmont is still a great place to go see at Christmas time and the staff is lovely. But it needs tighter management. Cleaner rooms, better logistics team for events, and better service in the restaurant. This hotel could be THE only place to go in the city but it feels like it's resting on its laurels. Come on, Fairmont, pick up the pace.
Good place to see Christmas decor, parking is a pain and food expensive
Awesome atmosphere. One of the best Tiki bars I've been to!
Great place to explore as it has a long history! Great service.
Had to park across the street, valet was too expensive. Also drinks were expensive at Tonga room, and the floor was so sticky I stepped out of my shoe! But the ballroom was gorgeous! Large and beautiful, and the Food was delish!! The bar in the ballroom was only cash though. Booooo....
Tonga Room is a little pricey, but a cool place to take out of towners.
The hotel is beautiful. They accommodated our large group extremely well. They have kind and considerate staff. This my chosen meeting place to visit friends, even if I'm not staying here. Hoping to return this awesome hotel soon.
Located at the top of a steep hill, so be prepared for a climb or take a Lyft. Enjoyed the Tonga room downstairs - great drinks and a fun ambience!
Grand common entry and spacious, clean rooms with a powder room for getting ready for a night on the town! The Fairmont's reputation of making one feel like a fancy VIP didn't disappoint!
I was able to take a brief tour through the Fairmont with the SF public library city guides tour of nob hill. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and I highly recommend spending some time exploring the grounds, especially the rooftop garden!
Very nice rooms...Upscale hotel with great bars and restaurants
This place is amazing, I stay here whenever I'm in San Francisco. Clean, quiet, the breakfast buffet is incredible! They even do a giant gingerbread house for the holiday season, it's beautiful!
Very nice inside and decorations for Christmas were beautiful.
