Usually spot on but our chips were disappointing today. Fast service, friendly smiley staff. My rating is generall/overall as it's normally amazing.

Much smaller portions than 2 months ago, savings visible. Funny taste chips. Not coming back again after years of eating here.

Friendly staff, very quick service of one of the best fish and chip meals I have had.
My friend was a little disappointed as she expected a home made steak pie but she enjoyed her meal

Flaky fish, gorgeous chips, just the right amount of salt. Perfect! Good Covid mitigations in place.

Traditional fish&chips. Clearly been here a while but benefits from being able to just step across the road and easy them on the beach.

Lovely food all around, the thai fish cake being a favourite!! Fairly priced, expect long reasonable queues at peak times, but very nice and worth the wait!

Great chip shop everything freshly cooked. This is the one to go to. Never disappoints

Great sea front restaurant and cafe. Eat inside or take away for the beach opposite or simply sit outside on their pavement tables. Plenty of local payable parking directly opposite. A must if your in Hayling.

Overpriced, with very small portion. Bad value for money

Small portions, high prices and rude staff how is this place still running the staff all look like there straight out of high school covered in spots and there the ones serving your food imagine the ones cooking it

Quality fish & chips by the sea! I have been going to Hayling Island since I could walk and have always used this chippy. Now at the age of 30 I am pleased to say I still use it and its excellent!

Great location with some very nice sea views. Friendly busy staff but ensure you are completely happy with your visit.

Their business model is two separate food outlets in one (but even that isn't immediately obvious to someone that doesn't know).
All too often business owners assume a new customer can read their minds - and understand what to do.
We'd seen people outside eating and when we went there we simply joined the queue - expecting to place our order and say we're at a table outside.
That is something we've done countless times - as have millions of others.
What it turned out to be was the queue for takeaway. We should have gone to the inside cafe - same food - but we'd have got plates and cutlery.
A sign saying "Takeaway Only" would be so easy for anyone realising their customers are not all regulars.

Not overly impressed had a rush on lunch time to me staff started to panic didn't seem to be any leadership, fish was overcooked chips was nothing to write home about, only went there coz the best one was closed (Seaview cafe)

My husband and I came down for fish and chips takeaway, was totally disappointed we both had cod and chips, chips where under cooked and soggy the fish had no flavour batter was soggy as well, fish had obviously been in the hot cupboard to long, it is the first time we have been here and we won't be coming back.

If I could of left a zero I would chips were cold and portion awful do not recommend

Really good service best chippy on Hayling Island have been going here years and the staff are amazing! Keep up the good work. Today I had a delivery in which one tiny thing was missing from our order but they were not hesitant in going back to get what they had missed off, even in the pouring rain. Very polite long may this chippy continue.

very disappointing last night at 5.30 on 21/02/18 haddock and chips was barely cooked, i have had some great fish and chips from there but last night a young girl was cooking and it was rubbish, get someone who knows how to fry

Really great chips and curry sauce. The overall experience was spoiled by the overflowing bin. Please get a large bin provided by you and don't rely on the council bin outside. I would then rate 5 out of 5.

We do love our fish & chips. & we do love Hayling Island.

Vegetarian Spring roll & chips; hot crispy and delicious. Everyone enjoyed their lunch - I would like to go back again.

Fish was really good, and a great choice. Slightly miserable chips. Pleasant staff. Slightly dingy.

Had take out. Medium fish n chips & a sausage for the dog. Fresh cooked, Good meal plenty enough. Yum. Priced fair. Staff lovely was asked if sausage was for a dog & was given that straight away so it could cool while we waited. Been befor , will go again.

Not very impressed. Service that day was poor. Evidently short staffed. Food also was not up to our previous visit. Perhaps just a bad day. Been before when we enjoyed our meal.

Two open chips, taken over the road an eaten on the beach, on a windy autumn Thursday. I love crispy chips, and usually do not manage to find my favourites, either because I have taken a while to get them home, or because they are not good chips. I was not disappointed with Coastguard Cafe chips, and the force of the waves helped.

Sorry be very use the cafe . But we do love there fish and chip from the shop

Curry sauce heaven. Lovely portions,good quality food,pleasant staff,excellent prices.

Food was good, it was brought across from the conjoined chip shop rather than the kitchen. "Restaurant" area felt extremely small and cramped. Staff were friendly and did not approach too many times.

Always like coming here as it's down on the front, lovely selection of food at good prices and good service too! Wi-Fi wasn't working when we went but not a main issue!
