I enjoyed the live band but the dj whoever he was was terrible at mixing.

Good food and great entertainment. Tastefully decorated and very comfortable environment. The owner is very down to earth and welcoming.

Poor service, the waitress not take order till I call her, almost 10 min now waiting.she still walking around no reason, we only few people here, somebody really need mange this place!

I give it 3 stars because the service was not good. I dont know if the lady was overwhelmed or new but it took forever to get our orders. Then when got our food, she did give us utensils. I literally had my food in front of me for 5 minutes before I got my fork and knife but no napkins. Thank God the food was good.

I went on a Friday it wasn't too crowded (maybe because it's winter) good music it was African and reggae music mostly. The drinks were good but over priced for shots that you don't get a lot of liquor.

The restaurant has a new theme night on Wednesdays!!!! It's salsa and bachata dancing!!! I had their jerk chicken legs and rice and beans. The legs of pollo were muy grande! They had great flavor and were not too spicy. There is a long bar and ample space for sitting when you need to rest from busting a move! The dance floor is ok for dancing, it's not wood but I was also not dancing in dance shoes. Fortunately I was comfortable being led into 2 spins, yay for that skill! Overall the location is great, parking is easy, they have awesome DJ Renzo and they had good food.

Food is just ok. For what you get the price is a little high.

The fried chicken and spring rolls were delicious! We especially enjoyed when the DJ came on mixing early 2000 hip-hop, reggae, reggeaton and today's hip-hop songs. We are definitely going to be back!

I made reservations at Mix for a family dinner on New Year's Eve. The place was very noisy and service was extremely slow. The type face on the menu was so tiny it was nearly impossible to read. My husband ordered Peruvian ceviche, and was told after the server went to place the order that they no longer served it. Why was it on the menu, then? My stepson ordered a French dip sandwich. They told us they had sold out (this was at 7:15 in the evening). The server didn't come back to the table to take his re-order for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, the noise kept getting louder and louder as more people arrived, so loud we could barely hear each other talk. My granddaughter had fried chicken that she said tasted like fish, causing her to question whether they fried the fish and chicken in the same oil. My husband's mussels and my burger were okay, but not particularly memorable. Calamari appetizer was pretty good, but the hummus had way too much cumin in it. Definitely will not be going back.

The food is delicious, the service is wonderful and the ambiance is perfect!

This was actually my second time coming here, but the first time I did not eat since I came for a show. Last night I went and OMG! Everything was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised. This is the kind of menu that is small but I feel like I have to go back just so that I can try other dishes. I was torn between this and the Suya, but we see what I ended up trying. The server was really nice and he actually made the recommendation. The drinks were good as well. Nice music. A lot of couples were up dancing and just an all-around great time and vibe.

Great happy hour food menu. The sliders and cheese steak egg rolls are very good. The beer menu leaves a bit to be desired, but it's ok if you like the usual beers like Sam Adams, yuengling, and blue moon.

No drink menu and no beers on draft. This is a bar right? I can t comment on the food because I didn t eat. Almost all the beers weren t even cold enough for them to serve so my friend had to buy beer she didn t like. This is not a bar it s more like someone s collection of half drank liquor in some guys man cave. Very random selection. There are a lot of bars around the area....I d try a different bar if I were you.

The food here is ok, but what keeps bringing me back are the drink specials. Thursday is HH all day, and they also started Ladies Night on Thursday, where you can drink all you want off the HH menu for $10!

The food was pretty good! I got the Moroccan lamb dish. The drinks were tasty as well. It's a nice restaurant. I enjoyed the music as well (Thursday nights). Good service.

I go to this restaurant quite often! This is the best place to grab a bite. I visit this place many times. The cooking is just great, the staff members are professional and the prices are reasonable. I like eating in this spot to have a tasty supper.

So this is kinda 2 different places, by day it's just kinda like a nice bar, but late nights the tables move to the edges and some dancing goes on, it is really fun and the prices make it doable, the management really cares about customers and it is a very good location, worth stopping by

DJ Cory Cranks was great, made it worth the drive out!!!

I first came here for a party. I was impressed by the scenery. I fell in love with the food and I have been coming back regularly since!

I am not sure if they just opened or under new management but they didn't have good service at all. Price or the bottle changed twice, then they gave us a baby bottle of henny. Crowd was young as well.

Cool modern bar that plays hiphop & afrobeat. Also owned by an African so I had to check it out. Parking is a challenge since it's in downtown silver spring.

Drinks, food are a bit too pricey for the portions you are served, $8 for an order of burned potstoes, not that upscale.!
The live band Saturday nights is awesome and worth visiting this place for that reason alone.

Atmosphere was chill. Didn't drink. Food was pretty decent. But please work on the shrimp... tasted way too fishy. Bathe them suckers in lemon before cooking.

New nite spot in downtown Silver Spring, the afro Caribbean cuisine is very tasty although the buffet ran out pretty quickly. MOST of the bartenders are pretty friendly. Good change of pace for Silver Spring.

Prices for drinks are overpriced and they are not even well made.

Great food! The nightlife is mixed and full of fun. Up and coming nightclub. Get your foot in the door now.

The atmosphere was quite professional; was truly a place of choice for friends and family to meet and have fun; I mean real fun; have a few drinks; enjoy the popular ethnic music for the right/familiar audience without stress or interference. I had a very bad experience the first time I went there, but today I met the owner of the place, and he made sure to properly address the issue that arose the last time. Great guy, great customer service. If you like suya, their suya is the best in the area! Make sure to ask for Juste if the servers mess with you.

I really try hard to see the good in places but I have a difficult time seeing the upside to Mix. If it weren't for this being the only viable bar/restaurant in Silver Spring with multiple TVs showing sports, they would have nothing going for them. The service is absolutely awful and has been consistently so each time I have been there. On more than one occasion, the draft beer has been "broken" during visits. Though the draft beer prices are pretty good when the taps are working. Another issue I have with this place is the noise. There are typically people being loud and yelling and the staff seems to be uninterested in keeping it under control. My last time in, there was a group of six people being really loud and obnoxious, screaming obscenities and generally being disruptive. One of the two bartenders spent most of her time visiting and carrying on with this group rather than tending to the small number of customers at the bar. I later learned the person at the center of this loud group is one of the managers at Mix who was enjoying his time off with his friends. For me, all of this points to mismanagement and ineptitude.

The 3-stars only belongs to the food.
I went there a while ago and the waiters took so long to deliver the food, the music was unnecessarily loud and I understand it was a bar but it wasn t even clubbing hours. The bathroom I used had 1 ply toilet paper, very disturbing. Anyways, I ordered for a Moroccan lamb and also a Caesar chicken salad which was very delicious so kudos to the kitchen.

Nice place but drinks were not strong for the price.

I will never step into this place again. Bartender wouldn't give me change to pay my server, beers were flat and lacked taste. Server was sweet and did what she could, but subpar drinks and food. Avoid!

Their African Suya and other items on the menu are awesome and tasty. Definitely worth visiting. Great atmosphere, polite and friendly staff. Affordable services. Nice place to relax or hang out with friends. They adhere to CDC guidelines for social distancing. Very neat.

One of my fav Silver Spring spots. Food is always good, great service and the music is awesome.
