More quantitative than qualitative ... the bed was one of the cheapest innerspring mattresses with a cheap topper. Very uncomfortable. The room had no closet and no toilet brush. Parking ridiculously expensive at 30 per day. Chic entrance area. But that was it.

Excellent hotel. The staff is super nice and nice. The atmosphere is zen we want to stay on the ground floor to enjoy the deco and music. There are even board games. You can easily reach the city center by bus 48 or 248 or the stop is located 5 minutes from the hotel. The hics: no towel dry (even though the towels are changed every day) in the bathroom and toilet brush. And no cloakroom at the spa.
Loud music in the lobby. It annoyed me but the rooms and hotel were nice. A younger crowd so prepare yourself. And the nearest grocery store is a few bus stops away. Can get to Central station easily by bus. Forget Uber or try their local car service.
This hotel has a casual, modern, fun vibe. The staff was very helpful and polite. The rooms are smallish but neat and clean with a sleek decor. My entire group was impressed with the lobby - main floor area. The first things I noticed were the large ropes hanging from the ceiling as an interesting room divider. There were a few bikes sitting about which I realized later were there for hotel guests. We also spent some time in the hanging chairs that were lined up in front of the windows that face the big ships on the water. There were some shot glasses on the tables which gave a young party feel, and many games scattered throughout the main floor. The lighting was funky hanging from the ceiling. There was free coffee in the morning and a very casually staged breakfast buffet that went for 9 Euro. Overall I recommend this.
Good room, but no early check in was availavke. The hotel is far from the inner city or Central station, so a bit inconvenient. They had a good breakfast.
Horrific experience and absolutely rubbish hotel. If you want to throw your well earned money down a dump this is a hotel you choose.
No phones in rooms and no service Toilets smell like sewers Towels stained and dirty Sauna doesn't work Swimming pool with no temperature control No easy access to property No local services Room looks out into garbage Rude front of staff Breakfast which could be compared to a 2 star low end airline charged only for a handy 20 No complaints resolution procedures No professionally of staff
Very modern and stylish hotel. Beds very comfortable and we had a great view of the harbor. The area is very new (or at least looks like it) and very quiet. The city center can be reached very quickly by bus (line 48) and even faster with line 248. The bus stop is 5 minutes from the hotel.
Best place I've stayed in Amsterdam so far. Where else ist it possible to open the curtains in the morning and to see vessels right in front of your huge window. Incredible!
The front desk was less then helpful there are no phones in the rooms and never messages given to us and they disregard do not distrub signs. when you check in they tell you they dont have a safe for a reason. Great staff, Very Disrespectful Manager! Took pictures in our room while we were at the bar
Interesting take on a Marriott hotel. Minimalistic Rooms. . staff was relatively new and inexperienced. Had problems with the lights in the room going on and off all night
Great lounges, gym, swimming pool, peaceful rooms, convinient public transport to Centraal, cheap breakfast only 10 ; but shower drain stank BAD, they could not fix it, but we managed well when we kept toilet door closed :) .
Loved this place. It was a bit far off of the central station, but it s very convenient to get to by bike/uber. Great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were great, but bathrooms could have been cleaner (i.e. maintain your bathrooms and their tiles better). They have great bikes for rent that cost 15 euros a day. 9/10
+ 200m to the bus stop +/- quiet location (15min by bus to the Central Station) + very nice employees + stunning ambience + clean room + great breakfast + Gym + delicious cocktails -No toilet brush in the whole hotel ?! -no cupboard / table in the double room -Stink from shower drain -Used glasses from the lobby were not cleared for 2 days -Disposable cups in the room by the kettle (cups would be better)
Very good value for money : -Full and well-equipped fitness room, which is rare -Clean indoor pool, towels available -Cosy bedroom with a beautiful view, walk-in shower -TV with screen sharing for smartphone -Free and efficient WIFI
The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the bus stop. There is a bus that takes you to the center every 15 minutes. The journey is 5 to 10 minutes.
What an awesome hotel. It's so great to be in a modern hotel that caters to travelers that want to mingle and meet people. The views are as awesome and the staff fin and engaging.
Room is really clean and designed in a nice way, I got some problems with the payment though because the hotel did not verify business credit cards automatically and since the credit card is owned by the company I work for I did not had access to it. Otherwise the hotel was really nice and overall the people working there were helping a lot.
Loved the chilled out vibe of the place. The interiors are done very tastefully and the music playing is always groovy and funky that uplifts your mood. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms were neat and clean but lacked many basic amenities like room service, phone to call the reception or other rooms, tea/ coffee kit, electric kettle, mini fridge. Overall experience was good.
Small room, no toilet brush, no closet and dirty; both the public sector and the private sector. Beds were made new every day, but not changed and the room wasn't vacuumed. You could hear the neighbors talking. No information material available. The hotel is located on the A * in the world, but it is still not possible to completely show the car to load luggage. The garage costs 30 euros per day, which, given the need for parking conditions, could almost be called a rip off. Hotel restaurant far too expensive for the young crowd, wrong food, but as a crowning alternative there is packaged microwave food in the lobby. The breakfast was bad, tea was empty, the places to eat were dirty, fruit juices still closed, we saved breakfast after the first day. There was nothing to be seen of a supposed bar and pub district. It only started after half an hour's walk through a new development area. Welcome cocktail ??! The pool is like a nicely decorated bathtub. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to experience anything from the parties in the hotel that were so well advertised. What one can positively mention is the beautiful view of the harbor. All in all a very good youth hostel, but not a hotel.
The staff was very welcoming, nice and helpful. The girls were upbeat and Chris was tour adviser. We loved the hotel ,the atmosphere and will highly recommend it. Keep it up TEAM MOXY!!! See you soon!
Just a block from a bus that will take you to the main AMS train station. Great vibe. Welcome drinks. Amazing views of the harbour. After a day exploring Amsterdam unwind in a high level corner room watching ships unload tons of cargo while you lay in bed. Excellent sound proofing inside and out.
Super nice hotel in terms of decor entirely with pleasant staff spent well into the night in the lobby with bar. Wonderful bed with surprising room. Beautiful Amsterdam !!!!
Great hotel. A but out of the way for someone looking for ease of movement into Amsterdam s DT scenes. Option to bike (borrow and return program here) is great for a college kid or hipster with a pack of American Spirits rolled under his sleeve. The challenge then becomes biking back after they burn it down. Rooms are small. You can get nickeled and dimed into paying premium hotel prices if you consider that nothing is included with the exception of a room, gym usage and the internet. No premium speed internet was odd.
All said, this is a good spot for someone looking to manage their expenses and not afraid to get a sweat before some fun.
UPDATE: Greatest gym that I have ever experienced while staying in a hotel (Platinum with Marriott & Gold withHilton). I also love the stray cat that likes to linger around the hotel. He s one of the funny little nuances of the experience. Having the checkin at the bar is also a fun concept. Though there are plenty of places to drink in Amsterdam, the option to pregame with friends was the best at our hotel.
Fantastic in every way! Hip and trendy! Fun people. Super location, in development, but this is what it will be all about. We slept very well in a nice clean room, good bed and good shower! Very nice view over the harbor and the breakfast was great in a cozy atmosphere. Nice, warm people who work there. In short, we will come back here!
The hotel is nice, but the bar downstairs needs new staff! Different bartenders two days in a row could not make even one cocktail from the menu. Also the first time we ordered from the menu they said there is no such cocktail and were surprised to see it on their own menu - the cocktail that we asked for was Moscow mule! None of the cocktails they tried to make were right...
I am not sure why this hotel is under Marriott. Being a member with 2 steps away from being a platinum client. This is the worst experience I had.
I have been always a satisfied customer since I have joined Marriott Bonvoy. Unfortunately, my stay at Moxy Amsterdam was a nightmare.
The staff was not professional, room was very dirty, the bathroom had a bad smell. The night shift team was not even Moxy Employees and have no clue what is the reason behind such a bad service as they were more surprised that I am.
This modern hotel looks and feels new, but poor housekeeping practices will soon be the demise of this hotel. Our room had trash in the waste basket when we arrived and there were food crumbs (sesame seeds) between the two single beds. Honestly, I'm not sure they can fit a vacuum between the beds. Also, the reception at the bar may be helpful for staff, but it was frustrating to check-in or get drinks because you're competing for staff at the bar/reception. Finally, this hotel is not near the city center; Uber costs between 11-15 to city center which is more economical than the bus if traveling with a family. People traveling alone should consider the bus near the hotel to Amsterdam Centraal train station.
Very cool new hotel in Amsterdam. Free cocktails on the arrival and many breakout spaces to chill out in and play games.
They have lots of ready prepared food you can pop in the micro if you're hungry on arrival at reasonable prices. The breakfasts are a very good deal, huge spread of food (toast, boiled eggs, salami, cheeses, fruit, yoghurts, cereals, jams, fresh juices, coffee and tea)...as much as you can fit on your tray.
In the rooms you have a record player and a selection of vinyls to play. There's a telly in there but you can't connect your phone as they say you can if you want to link Netflix. Not really necessary to have anyway, but I think eventually the service will work in this hotel branch.
Ideally located, being only a 15 minute bus ride away from the centre. The bus stop is a couple minutes walk from the hotel too, no need to use Uber at all!
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. They gave us recommendations of good resturants to visit in the city which were spot on! We will stay here next time we're in Amsterdam for sure!
Perfect blend of quality, spacious comfort and service. Ideally located in the trendy northern harbor district, a stone's throw from the central station. Do not hesitate!
HAD A GREAT STAY HERE, POOL CLEAN, SAUNA LOVELY, GREAT VIEWS - HAPPY CHILLED OUT STAFF - ADVISE TRAVEL PASS, BUS JOURNEY 20 MINS INTO CENTRAAL - 19 EUROS FOR 72 HOURS, COVERS BUS, TRAM & METRO
Very stylish Hotel in the wonderful city of Amsterdam, a very modern design, a swimming pool, gym, and spa are available in the hotel, the rooms are so clean and very modern, with a front of glass where you can take a look at the harbor and also for the city, also the staff are very helpful and lovely, the food is great, I love this place and I recommend it.
Great place. Friendly people, espically the receptionist from Romania, she was such a great lady and professional. However, the receptionist from Ghana was so RUDE, her name is naoimee or something similar.
It's been a while since we were here, but we just had to think about our lovely stay here. Super nice, courteous staff, great drinks at the open bar / reception. Very stylish - typical for moxies. We like that very much! You can spend a whole evening just playing board games, table football and good drinks if you arrive late and don't want to go back to the city (and of course have enough time for Amsterdam). Somewhat more remote location at the harbor with a great view (a lot has been built here, let's see how it will be next time you visit) and you can still get to the city quickly by bus. The parking fees are very high, which is a shame. However, this is common in Amsterdam, so the hotel only moves along. Breakfast very basic but okay and the staff keep up with the restocking. Later in the day you will be adequately supplied with all the cheese and great restorations from Amsterdam;)
Very fancy and new hotel in Amsterdam, part of the Marriott group. The concept is very similar to Citizen M, maybe a little bit less domotica style in the rooms, but the streaming on the TVs is great. You can easily connect your Netflix too it
The only downside for me was the price. I had the misfortune to stay there one night on UEFA match day and the prices went sky high.
The area is super nice in the middle of the fashion district. A bit out of the city, quiet and brand new.
The hotel is new and pretty, i love the design. It feels very cozy. Staff was friendly and nice as well. The only downside is the location. There is not much to do there, it's being built now. When I went there, the only bus running was shut down for the weekend, and they didn't bother to tell us. So we had to uber in and out everyday, which was not a nice surprise. One of the roads getting there was closed as well, and uber drivers had to find another way. I hope if this happens again, the hotel has a backup plan, like hiring a shuttle bus or at least send an email telling the customers this is happening and give alternatives. I would have not booked it if I knew I had to use uber/taxi twice a day.
Located at the end of a new pier that juts out into the main canal, MOXY is part of a new expansion area in the Houthavens neighborhood. The place is decorated like a hipster art collection (live-edge wood tables, cargo container walls, and pallet wood above the bar), but service is great and breakfast hits the spot. Rooms are all new and modern, with a spacious shower area that's big enough for two.
This hotel is pretty far out in the boonies but it's pretty chic. Very contemporary and chill loungey sorta vibes, facilities are great. The gym and the pool are really aesthetically pleasing, and there's a sauna too. The rooms however are very basic and small so it's one of those type of you know, party in front, bare-bones at the back sort of thing.
Also, customer service is lacking. Don't bother calling the hotel because literally nobody picks up. Also, I chatted them on the Marriott app and once again radio silence.
Very nice staff with a clean ambience and great decoration. The hotel is located on the harbor and has a beautiful view. I expected a little more with the room and the specially booked upgrade. Rooms are set up sparingly. I was missing a slightly larger table and one or the other more sensible placement of a socket (one side of the bed has a socket, the other doesn't). Room was not perfectly clean, stains on the nice looking glass shelf on the bed. Shower is very pleasantly large and very pleasant smelling shower gel and shampoo. It is hardly worth taking your own shampoos with you. The lighting in the room is generous with a pleasant atmosphere and light at late hours. The extremely comfortable bed should be highlighted. The air conditioning can be adjusted easily and comfortably.
Far away, very poorly trained workers, small rooms without closet, very expensive food and poor quality. They do not know how to treat a guest, the children they serve do not know how to work in a hotel.
Pretty cool hotel, mixed between a boutique and traditional. Tip: get a room with breakfast included - continental selection is decent and fresh. Absolutely amazing views if you get a room with harbor view. Friendliness of the staff can be improved, but I think it might be a "Dutch" thing ;) another huge plus is that the bar is open 24/7
The hotel is simply amazing! - The service is excellent Hygiene 10 out of 10 Very nice staff Very beautiful swimming pool Comfortable rooms with a great view of the sea The location of the hotel is a little far from the city center but there is a bus station near it
Nice Hotel to stay and easy to get around the city by Bus and Train station which is just 15minutes away from Bus station and Bus station is just 5 minutes walk from the hotel it s worth to stay in Moxy.
The location is very remote, not sure if there is a bus to arrive! We drove by ourselves and the result was so remote that we didn't provide free parking, and we paid 30 euros for the parking fee. In addition, the room did not even have a kettle.
The most beautiful and best hotel I and my girlfriend have ever been to. The pool, the sauna and the evening rest are exactly what you need after an exhausting trip through Amsterdam! The front desk was always friendly and helpful. A free drink was also included! Only when I rented bicycles was I a little disappointed. After driving 10km I found that my tire was flat. It is best to take a close look at the bike beforehand and not trust blindly like me. Otherwise everything was great! The room was clean and the bathroom very modern. We will definitely be back, value for money was practically the best in all of Amsterdam! Bus line to the city center every 15 minutes in front of the 300m in front of the door.
I loved everything about this hotel until the housekeeper tried to break down my door twice. She made my friend change his towel. He had no choice. I've never had this happen anywhere. I complained at the front desk, was given 2 drink token and promised nobody would go I my room, the remainder of my stay. Well, I guess the housekeeper didn't get the message or care about my DO NOT DISTURB because after I left she cleaned my room and stole my dead grandfathers watch from my bathroom. Great hotel but no safes and the house maid is insane.
Everything was great until the last day the cleaners stole my gold ring. Unfortunately, I could prove nothing more. So take good care of your valuables.
