Chill atmosphere. Quiet, electric. Had a 6oz cappaccino and it was delicious! My chip card wouldn't work so she manually put my card number in. Thanks for that!

Always excellent coffee and service. Drip coffee, cold press, pour-over, espresso drinks are all expertly made and delicious. They also have good tea selection, and some baked goods and paninis available. The atmosphere is great, and there's lots of seating with their lower level seating area. Highly recommend.
The bootstrap blue collar might be the best brew I've ever had! Great food, great service, and will come from North Dakota just to come here!
Great coffee. Cozy place. Check out the basement lounge.
Nice meeting spaces downstairs, otherwise fairly typical coffee shop in a convenient location.
If it was only about the food and place, this would be a 5-star review. Problem: they charge a default 20% tip online and for pickup, with no option to customize.
Great atmosphere! Great place to go for good coffee as well as tea and scones!
Cozy interior -- you can pick to sit by the window or go to the basement for more of a lounge vibe. No free refills on your drip coffee!
There is no place like home for coffee, unless you go to Claddagh Coffee Shop in Saint Paul! The amazing coffee and home baked bakery goods are hard to beat! So happy to have this amazing jewel so close by!
I savored their short cappuccino the first time I visited. It had a unique blend and was distinctly aromatic. The cold weather outside seemed to only increase my craving for a second gulp. This time I had a large cup and relished the experience. The indoors are cosy and you would often spot customers working their way through a nice sip of their unique teas, coffees and snacks. I would love to visit the shop a few more times whilst I'm at St Paul.
Good coffee. Ok breakfast sliders. The needed some more flavor...even some salt and pepper would help. Fast checkout, but very slow getting sandwiches (10 minutes). It wasn't busy, either. I'll be sure to pop in for coffee or espresso, but will skip ordering any take-away.
Wonderful local coffee shop and an EXCELLENT atmosphere. Very nice lower level too.
Great cozy vibes and chill and nice folks working there. Pretty good tea too.
High quality coffee from great roasters. The pour over tasted great. The Baristas know coffee, which I always appreciate. Nice atmosphere.
Hands down the best coffee shop in the Twin Cities. The whole upper level is flooded in light during the day and even the basement level manages to be extremely cozy despite the lack of windows. They have a wide variety of creative latte flavors and also carry the best tea (from a local company in Wisconsin!). Now I just wish another Claddagh would open in Minneapolis/West Metro so I could go more often!
The aesthetic, coffee, and wi-fi connection are all absolutely impeccable.
With a Highland/Celtic allure, the brick walls and parquet floors create a much more inviting and exotic coffee-going experience. The staff are great at all they do.
The wi-fi is definitely worth paying the extra 10% for coffee as I do a great amount of work online and derive much media from it, so it is a welcome change that, at Claddagh Coffee, I am able to download more in one hour than I ever could at any Dunn Bros in one week. And it is three blocks closer to my home.
Great coffee, and great atmosphere. Went to this coffee shop to relax and read a book.
Very neat place. Great coffee. Excellent service. Gave the perfect recommendation.
Amazing coffee! The breakfast sliders are delicious as well. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was comfortable. I definitely recommend this coffee shop if you need a coffe, are meeting a friend, or just need to get work done somewhere.
This is my favorite coffee shop in downtown Saint Paul for a few reasons:
- It's really big, It has two levels (bathroom on each), a 'patio' (a couple tables outside for nice weather), and a couple comfy couches.
- Lunch, Not your standard, 'bagels and pastries' place per say. They serve actual meals, which is nice when you are looking for a quick bite for lunch or a light dinner.
- Good vibes, This is the best part- the clientele is eclectic. During my last visit I saw a variant of age ranges from kids to seniors. All walks of life.
Highly recommend for
Beware: It can get busy and loud so be prepared to use your headphones.
I have enjoyed Claddagh for the past 3 years. Once I move back to St Paul, I will definitely make this a regular spot again!
Quaint, friendly and Best of all..Quality coffee/Espresso drinks with interesting flavor combos
A warm, inviting coffee house with lovely places to chat with friends, read by yourself or catch some sun. Signature drinks and food (e.g. The Claddagh Espresso drink and Irish Crumb Cake) make this a signature coffee house. And if you love Dogwood and pour over coffee, Claddagh has you covered.
Beautiful place, love working in the basement. Parking is okay. Closes earlier than may be desired for some but overall great place.
Great food and coffee. Interior is mostly dark and woody, a perfect place to escape to in solitude or to impress a friend.
Great coffee, service, and vibe. The space always feels a bit cramped though.
Comfy, welcoming place with good coffee, great homemade breakfasts, lunches and snacks, a laid-back atmosphere and an eclectic clientele. Try their Irish oats (oatmeal) on a cold morning. And their panini sandwiches. My only complaint is that they don't stay open evenings. Other than that, they're perfect.
Had the Chai Tea Latte, very good! Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
This morning, August 2, 2020, we made a take out order online. When we went to pick it up, the staff let us know the scones they had were day-old. They apologized and offered us the scones and gave us a refund because they weren't what they advertised. We gladly accepted and brought them home. We heated up the scones and applied the generous lemon curd and clotted cream and there was absolutely nothing wrong with them. What this review is meant to do is highlight two thing: 1- let everyone know the scones are incredibly delectable; 2 - that their offer of the refund wasn't necessary but just speaks to their top notch customer centric ideals. Take some time, make and order, and enjoy their wonderful goods and wonderful service ethos. By the way, the Dropkick Murphy - it's not shipping up to Boston but man is it a weird yet tasty drink. Slainte!
My favorite coffee shop! The staff is exceptional and the coffee is SUPERB. All of the signature drinks are worth trying.
Interesting, Irish-themed coffee shop on West 7th (not the dodgy end). If you're into this sort of thing, the Pot o Gold is a delightful, subtly sweet latte offering (one of many) containing turmeric and ginger.
Best coffee I've ever had, bought some to take home. Warm scone with lemon curd and cream was amazing too. Sandwiches looked good, will be back to try them.
Claddagh Coffe is a really nice place. The staff are really friendly as well. I asked to be recommended a beverage and was gladly obliged. I was served a "salty dog", one of many signature drinks that they offer, and it was great! I got a lot of studying done before they closed up shop at 4pm.I had a great time!
Staff is always friendly, delicious specialty coffee drinks & I love the breakfast slider sandwiches & their granola with yogurt. Good for bringing a laptop to get some work done, quiet reading, quick meetings, reading the paper, or playing board games downstairs.
What can I say? Oatmeal fudge bar, good coffee, and the nicest staff ever.
It's quaint and cozy but for how cold and despicable the winters are in Minnesota I'm rather disappointed this historic place does not have a roaring fire place of some kind!!!
I was really looking forward to trying out a new coffee shop this morning; my roommate and I decided to try this one because of their wide variety of specialty drinks. I got the O Benny Boy which is supposed to taste like coconut, banana, and chocolate. Instead, it just tastes like coffee and steamed milk. :( I m really hoping that this is just a COVID error because I was really excited to taste this creative drink. Better luck next time!
Great relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, amazing food and even better coffee/espresso! Among the top places to get a fantastic cup of coffee in St. Paul.
It s charming, neighborhood gem, kind staff, plenty of seating options, fabulous pastries and food options. It makes West 7th what it is.
Cute shop, coffee wasn't bad but wasn't my favorite
We love this place! Homemade syrups and creative lattes keep us coming back!
Perhaps the best chai around, has a legit spice blend. Their dirty chai is my personal favorite. Great, atmosphere as well, pretty relaxing
This is our second visit here and both times we're amazing. The atmosphere is really chill and the coffe is top notch as well. I really liked that they make their own syrups and such for the coffees. This time I ordered a chai tea latte as my comparison drink for other places, and the best one up to now in my opinion was Fireroast Cafe, but now it's Claddagg, which surprised me. The wild rice soup at Fireroast is still wins in my opinion, but we both agreed the coffee is best here, if only by a bit. Great job, guys!
Really slow service. Also, although hot chocolate was available, it wasn't on the menu.
This place has a great atmosphere and wonderful coffee.
Crowded for Sunday brunch, but with the bonus of very fine coffee, hot food, and the right volume of Irish folk music. I brought my dog with, and everything went well. We'll be back.
Coffee drinks are delicious, the staff is friendly and super chill, and the overall atmosphere is comfy. Perfect for meeting with a friend or working on work.
Great tasting coffee! Best I've ever had so far and I do visit many coffee shops
One of my favorite coffee shops here in the Twin Cities!!
Get the Pour Over method for you coffee choice, it's amazing. Great Staff too. Ambiance is awesome.
Best coffee barista ever, and what's cool about it is the could draw anything on your coffee.
My favorite is the St. Paddy's
Espresso, dark chocolate, coconut cream, steamed milk delicious
Buzzing cafe with friendly staff and seating up/downstairs. Claddagh uses and sells Dogwood Coffee ( a local roaster) The latte was perfect. The chocolate, dried cherry scone was as good as my Mom's...shhh, don't tell her! The scone was served with raspberry preserve and clotted cream. I will be back to enjoy the food, drink, and atmosphere again! Wonderful experience!
The cold press was okay. The breakfast sandwich I had was amazing though.
Best coffee and scones on the planet. Great ambiance as well.
Great drinks, great food, and great service! You walk in and feel like you've stepped into a pub in Europe! There are plenty of food and drink options including gluten free options!
Great visit, as always! I was there over the noon hour so the main floor was busier than usual but I like this place because of the basement seating options. They have couches and tables with more gentle lighting down the stairs. Great selection of coffees, quickly made and friendly service.
Homey & Irish. Brick & wood very nice, quaint, happy coffee shop!
Amazing atmosphere, coffee was delicious and the staff were super friendly. Will be back soon to enjoy more coffee and music.
Weird but good selections of coffe and drinks. Good place to relax and hang out.
Fine coffee, tasty bites, and love how she pays it forward to the community.
As it tis a bit of a Coffee Monger the atmosphere is welcoming. The coffee is grand and the staff is superb! Lovely gathering place down the stairs for small group's.
Wonderful place to get coffee with local art for sale.
Simply fantastic!!! Great coffee and wonderful people.
Great place to get some work done in a cozy atmosphere.
One of the best in Twin Cities. Customer service was excellent.
Great coffee and service. A relaxing way to spend my Sunday afternoon
One of the best latte's I've had -- the black and tan (cinnamon, honey, espresso) was excellent. The cinnamon chocolate scone was also really good. Just enough cinnamon and chocolate junks to make it flavorful without being too sweet. Very cozy, all brick interior with a sort of tucked-away feel, this was definitely an excellent stop.
Comfy atmosphere, unique Irish coffee drinks, plenty of seating. Overall great vibes
Excellent coffee, creative specialty drinks, and an excellent atmosphere for working.
Charming old building, friendly staff, delicious coffee
My favorite coffee shop of all time. Love the Dropkick Murphy-- it seems weird but it is definitely worth a try!
The coffee was probably the best coffee I ve ever had. Great experience.
Great coffee and very friendly staff. I felt like home.
Love the atmosphere...wish they would bring you your drink if they tell you they are out of something and need to make it. Wouldn't mind if I was by myself, but to wait fifteen minutes with a friend standing there wasn't the greatest.
Very annoyed. Arrived at 4:25pm and the shop was already closed, despite the closing time being listed as 5pm, the open sign still lit and two employees working inside. Just lost a potential customer.
I'd have to say any coffee house that isn't a Starbucks or Caribou or a Dunkin or any of the conglomerate corporate companies is better in my book. Being an Irish coffee house just makes it all the better. God blessed are the Irish, death to the English, and pog mo thoin.
