Chuy s is a nationwide chain now, but at its heart it is a quintessential Austin experience. For me, at least, and especially at the old downtown location. Every Sunday, my wife and I attend church near this location. Every Sunday we intend More

Shiner-soaked beef Fajitas? Now you're speaking my language. A free nacho bar during Happy Hour? It's like we're best friends! Hilarious decor... Can I live here? This place is Tex-Mex heaven.

Free chips and salsa while you are waiting with hd cable tv is great.

Great tex-mex, fantastic location near Zilker Park, fun sanitized silverware in a wax paper bag for each guest. The queso is good, the portion size is texas-sized so definitely think about splitting something because it will make for a cheap dinner.

Great ambiance and decor, including old (old!) hub caps. Cramped space though and can make even the most outgoing person feel a little claustrophobic.

I went her on the weekend and the place was pretty busy. Had a shirt wait time but the staff was courteous and accommodative. Service was quick and the food was awesome! Everything was decently priced and the portion size is good. I have a small appetite and a $9 priced Taco s with cooked beans and rice was too much for me.

Would definitely visit the place again and try out their cocktails and other dishes! All round these guys deserve a 5 star.

Delicious giant portions of everything, fantastic homemade sauces, yummy margaritas. Possibly the best Tex Mex I've had! Ashley was one of the sweetest, most attentive waitress I've ever had and was practically reading my mind with what I wanted before I asked. If I was staying in Texas longer I'd come here regularly!

Ordered to go everything came out on time and was correct except for the fact that my chicken was very overdone and really not any good called and spoke to Roger and let him know what happened he was very quick to remedy the situation and made sure that I was entirely satisfied and even went beyond what he had to do to make sure all was well I've always loved the food here and have never received poor service picking up or ordering to go

The food was moderately priced, but mediocre. However, there is a lot to be said for the service. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and made up at least in part for the bland food.

Our server, Alan, gave us top notch service! He was very nice, prompt, personable, and he didn't rush us into ordering. The food was amazing, but the waiter made it even better. He's a sight for sore eyes, that man. A real gem. Give Alan a raise. #employeeoftheyear

Got to love Chuy's! Try the chile rellenos--very different than the ones made with poblanos--or the Hatch Green Chile Burrito. Man, is it ever tasty! I worked at Chuy's Dallas a long time ago, and of ALL of the restaurants I've worked in, this kitchen was by far the cleanest! The service at this one can be slow, but that's because they are usually packed! Grab your beverage of choice and just enjoy the decor and the feel of the place!

this is the first place i went to eat when i moved to tx. I have been a fan every since. servers seem to be on top of it and everything I have ever eaten I enjoyed. The only part I don't love is that is that it is always busy...but I see why.

Very good Tex Mex! Love the options available with the different sauces. Not too bad with prices, expect about $9-12 per entree. My only complaint is that I'm not crazy about their chips. The salsa and the white sauce was good but the chips are really flimsy, not great for dipping in my opinion. But overall good experience.

As an out of towner, this place was hyped up as a must eat. It wasn't bad, more like above average 4/5. The salsa bar was nice, but this particular restaurant has almost no parking and even less waiting room. At least Zilker is close enough to walk off the food

The original location and south Austin staple serves remarkable Tex Mex in a unique setting. If it's your first time in Austin, I highly recommend stopping in to see the place that started it all. It's perfectly located near Zilker, the spring, and the trail making it the ideal spot after (or before) a day outside. It's appeal is lost on no one so be prepared to wait. Parking is tough and can prohibit a visit. Personal favorite: chicka chicka boom boom enchiladas.

The service here was awesome! This place has a lot of visitors. Downtown is right down the road. Parking is scarce at night, so if eating for dinner get there earlier. The Tex-Mex food hit the spot, but no way I could finish all of my food. More

The Barton Springs location is always packed but the staff handles it well. You may wait awhile to be seated but the food always comes out fast and it's definitely worth the little extra time! The Boom Boom sauce is super hot and super super delicious!!!!
