Chuy's original location go hungry great food and lots of it what else is there to say
Tacos are subpar, but the chimichangas are on point, it's super greasy which I love , I just can't stomach it for long.
The original and still the best. Chuy's is an Austin classic for a reason. Best local Aus-Mex around!
Great Mexican food in Austin Tx with several locations
Love the tortilla soup and of course the happy hour with margs and free chips and queso
Awesome Mexican cuisine...good options for vegetarian...delicious food ...prompt service
The foods good you definitely get a good portion for what you pay for, it s definitely Tex-mex very very light tex-mex I would have to say more tex than Mex. I would like it if it was a little bit more authentic Mexican the plates are a bit bland. But I ve had many good times.
Amazing Mexican food
V friendly staff
Good Tex-Mex, large portions, and the service is fast!
The cocktail waitress never came by our table. Had to deal with the crowd at the bar. Maybe that's why the bar was so busy.
It's very hyped here in Austin, it's good but it's not my first choice.
Quickly becomes crowded but the salsa bar is nice and the food is always good.
Everything I eat here is really good, they have very large portions. My fiance and I share the bean burrito most of the time. The chips are always fresh and delicious. They give you large sides and plenty of salsa and chips, even on to go orders. The atmosphere is funky and loud. It's pretty neat and they sell funny shirts. The wait staff is usually pretty good. My only complaint is that sometimes the salsa is too hot. It is almost inedible half of the time. But when it is not too hot, it is SO delicious. I also think it is more traditional than tex-mex. Highly recommend them.
Nice Texmex with good service..huge portions and cantina decor...great choice for a quick lunch in Austin
I love Chuy's happy hours!
Everything I have ever eaten at Chuy's has been amazing. The only reason I took off a star is because we went for lunch and our server was awful.
She kept disappearing. We didn't get our water until 10 minutes after we sat down and she didn't take our orders for at least 30 minutes of being there. I would have flagged her down if we could find her. She was never around!
Minus that mishap, food was amazing as always.
A really exceptional TexMex restaurant! Special lovely style. Great decorations. Friendly and fast service. Better fish tacos than anywhere else! Crisp batter, solid fish and tasty seasoning. It is crowded at the typical times. And you might have a wait about 30 minutes. But it is worth it. They can also handle bigger groups.
Best Tex Mex of my life. Quick service during a busy lunch, prefect food.
Closing at 9:00 lately which is early on a Saturday night
I'm embarrassed saying I like Chuy's... but I do. The queso is ok, not the bet but it's good to munch on. I feel the same about the margaritas... They're on the sweet side, but I can get down with one (or two).
But the veggie enchiladas with the boom boom sauce... is pretty darn good.
I've been to Chuy's off and on for several years. I always say the atmosphere is great and the food is okay. I do like that you're able to serve yourself chips and salsa while you wait. The drinks are pretty good and they have a good mix of Tex-Mex food.
The original!! Super busy, and the parking can be tight so be patient. Well worth the time here! Hatch green chilies, creamy jalapeno sauce, homemade chips YUM! Try the stuffed avocado, the chili rice, chicka chicka boom boom enchiladas, taco salad, and the comida deluxe. You can't go wrong with anything here. LONG LIVE CHUY'S!
You can always count on Chuy's to deliver a good time and good solid food. Take all your friends or take a day and have a margarita and don't miss their blue corn tortillas!
Soo good! Yummy and fast! Sitting is bit cramped but wasn't a big deal the lunch we went for.
Great food as always! Somewhat rude waiter, I guess we overstayed our welcome, big hungry unseated crowd outside!
Whenever I go to a restaurant, what captivates me is the attention, if the attention is good, the rest is secondary, but in this case both the attention and the food exceeded expectations.
Nice place, excellent food to an unbelievable price. Picturesque and nicely decorated.
Gets really crowded at peak times and the wait could be 40-50 minutes.
Good Food, great ambiance and great service. Sit at the bar for a full menu service.
The original is still the best. I love the fish tacos. Drove strait there from the airport.
This is the original Chuys. Huge place inside. Food is fairly standard but tasty and they will customize anything to your taste. Service is outstanding.
Definitely a must try Tex-Mex spot in Austin...the wait is well worth it. Had a Texas Margarita with salsa and chips- drink was good but salsa was even better. It had a great kick to it and the chips were very fresh. Ordered a chicken burrito- the burrito itself was very soft, the beans were seasoned and cooked to perfection with ample chicken in the burrito. The rice was seasoned well and cooked just right...overall great meal. I love the fact that they have so many sauce options with varying heat levels. Service was ok...they messed up our order but it was quickly fixed.
This is absolutely one of my favorite places in Austin! The chips and salsa alone rock!
Chuy's is a great spot for Tex-Mex in Austin. Can't beat the quality of the food and price.
Hard to beat for service, funky atmosphere, and solidly fresh Tex-Mex food. Great location, too.
Good place, good location, good food. Need I say more?
Server was really friendly and the food came out perfectly. Drinks were great too!
Great place for a happy hour. Relaxed atmosphere and nice margaritas. Can get a bit crowded though.
Ohh man this place is freaking good mexican martinis spicy they are the best
A mixed review. Service and people were very good. Food was average in my opinion.
Go to the Barton springs location, get the chile rellenos!
Good happy hour drinks and buffet! Everyone should try the ranch dip, you won't see ranch the same ever again!!!
Fast & consistent
Try the chicken chile rellenos topped with hatch green chile salsa
The food is ok but not my type. The price is friendly and food portion is really big.
Food is fine. It s Tex-Mex kinda whatever.
I just gotta throw out 10 stars to our server. If I owned a restaurant I would totally poach this guy. Freddy!! You are the best! You re killing it.
I really enjoy coming here with my family. This is my 11 yr old's favorite place to eat.
The food is great, the atmosphere is cool, and the parking is terrible. Still, it's some of the best Tex-Mex in Austin and I highly recommend it.
I was expecting more and to me it was average at best.
A lot of food!
It is good food. A lot of it.
Chips and salda are good. And they have a chips and salsa bar during happy hour with cheese, beans and beef.
It is usually packed here, but the wait is short if at all.
Your standard texmax gub from an Austin original.
Yum. Ranch salsa? Heck yes! It was delicious and the staff was great and funny
Food and service were good. Only bummer from our experience was the server didn't tell us a side of sauce was 3.50. Other than that delicious
Chuys is a great hot spot. Especially the original. All the food is good, but drinks are watered down. Great happy hour snack bar
The food was amazing. Jamie was our waitress and she has such an amazing smile and was so friendly. I will definitely be back for the great Customer Service and awesome food!!!
Chuy's always gives amazing customer service and the food is always fantastic!
This place rocks great atmosphere nice people large portions for food!
We love Chuy's. The Saturday special Hatch beef tacos are awesome! Great spot to begin or end your day.
All of the food, beverages, service, and ambience = FANTASTIC
Huge portions of Tex Mex enchiladas, tacos, etc., etc.
Was surprised to find this location thriving, now I know why. PS, margarita I hear are also good.
I've heard this was the place to come for Tex Mex -- so I came with high expectations and was sorely disappointed. The wait was long and confusing, we were standing there for close to 20 mins while other waiting customers were informed they could wait by the tables near the bar -- I've also seen those tables being given to the waiting customers. No one came to talk to us while we wait and they seemed very disorganized. After we got our table it took another 10mins for our server to greet and get our drinks order -- which came twice (one was by a different person , the other by our server). I guess our bad luck was because of having a less than attentive server -- we saw another server who was doing wonderfully and being super attentive -- it was another 10 minutes before the server took our order. The food was decent nothing spectacular, the only thing I liked was the chips -- we had so much of it because of the wait for the server / take order / food to arrive we were pretty much full. I won't miss this place for sure.
I'm from South Texas and Chuy's is delicious Tex-Mex food! The portions are huge and the food is amazing. I love the fact that you can choose from different sauces to drench your Enchiladas with. If you like Jalapenos, I'd recommend the Creamy Jalapeno Sauce.
The atmosphere is colorful and festive. I loved it. Wait staff was prompt and friendly. I will be coming back here for sure.
Wonderful margaritas and queso. Loved the hatch chili tacos as well! Even better was the quick and friendly service. Give Chuy's a visit.
