Ahhhh! What an amazing taste. I am big fan of Chuy's, I visit Chuy's very frequently. Must try that treas leaches dessert cake, I am sure you won't regret.
An Austin classic! Great Tex Mex and a great atmosphere!
After a long day where we spent most of our time at Barton Spring we got really hungry. On our way out, we saw Chuy's! They have a very friendly staff and a great selection of texmex food. Great place to go on a hot sunny day! They have AC, which others around them don't have.
Best Tex-Mex ever! Goes up there with Maudie's Millagro in Tex-Mex levels! The chips and dips are the best in the world, staff is awesome and they have awesome T-Shirts!
Chuy's does Tex-Mex like no other!
Had the chicken fajita plate for 1 ($15) and it was very filling. Came out hot and quickly)
Service and food was good but the noise level was too much. I literally couldn't hear myself think. And that place it too small for all those people that were there eating. I probably won't go back.
Chuy's is practically it's own food genre. It's Austin Tex-Mex. They do so many things so well. Rellenos are one of my favorites. The flan and tres leches are about as good as I've ever had.
Chuy's has some of the best fish tacos around. Try them grilled and on corn tortillas for a healthier option. This location is by far the most iconic of any I've been to because if the vibe and deco.
Chuys is my favorite place to eat! its an austin favorite and i have never met anyone who didnt like anything that was on the menu. anytime family or friends are in town i take them there. BEST PLACE EVER!!
By far the fastest Chuy's I've been to, staff took a little while to figure out where to seat our mid-sized party. But the food was fast and the chips and drinks stayed full.
We loved Chuy s! Visited Austin with my wife and my dad told me we had to go to Chuy s. After hitting several other local restaurants like Kirby Lane, Salt Lick and Stubbs, we came here and loved it. Excellent service and food, good price for everything. Get the Jalepeno cream sauce to go with your chips, it s amazing. Macho burrito pictured. The drinks were great too. Parking is good too, we parked here and walked to Zilker and then around ladybird trail and they don t tow. Overall great experience and hope to return.
As born & bred Austinite, this is a staple in our infant babies diets. We start them young on that delicious green ranch sauce, so that they grow up to become Longhorn Football players & kick football butt.
Delicious! Unique! Kooky! Oh, did I mention Delicious!!
Great service.. great food. What else could you want
I'm an out of towner, but both times I've been to Austin I ate here and both times it was the highlight of the trip. It's a festive and lively atmosphere, everything is delicious, portions are big, prices are reasonable, service is good, and their free nacho bar is awesome. What more can you ask for?
I ve been eating at Chuys for over 20 years. This is the original location so the food is that much better. I you are looking for Tex-Mex this is the best there is.
Vegetarians, listen up, the Chile relleno is the best option! Also, in terms of "atmosphere" this venue beats all the others in ATX.
Food is decent tex mex. Very limited beer selection. Service is friendly and prompt. Parking is terrible. Don't bother to go on a weekend if you're not willing to wait. Definitely a slice of old school Austin. Try walking from Zilker for a lower stress experience.
If you live Hatch Green Chile this is your place. Great food, good margaritas and a fun atmosphere.
Fun, casual Elvis-themed Tex-Mex restaurant. Chips, salsa and queso are delicious. A bit loud, and parking for this location is not super easy to find, but it's an Austin staple for good reason.
went there today for first time and the food is great and its was crowded that show this place is wonderful place to eat at austin. we will love to go there next time :)
Love love love the margaritas! And the food, of course!
My first time at Chuy's was great! The atmosphere was very family friendly and the food was delicious
One of my favorite restaurants in town, get the boom boom or something with hatch green chili's. Also a great happy hour.
Great time as always! Food was excellent! Service was outstanding!
This is my favorite Chuy's location in Austin due to its location and unique decor. Gets busy during weekend hours.
Such a great happy hour! Free queso, beef, beans and salsa from 4-7pm. Love this place!
Definitely the best Tex-Mex in Austin Texas. Chuy's also has some of the best service in town. Don't forget to try one of their Margaritas, I prefer frozen with a Hornitos floater :-)
Guacamole was served on top of shredded lettuce! Pina colada was sour, shrimp tacos were just nasty, manager tried to make things better but I will not be retiring to this location, N Lamar way better
Good food it's Tex-Mex. Good flavor all around...good service, rough parking at peak times but fun overall.
I lived in Austin many years ago and then in Houston up until about 4 years ago. This is one of the places I look forward to the most when I make trips back to Texas. Always quality food. The service is usually pretty good. And I always leave feeling full and happy. Can't wait until my next trip to Texas! P.S. don't forget to ask for the creamy jalapeno sauce.
Great food! Great service! Our server was always aware if we needed refills and was very quick to get our food out. Happy customer here!!
Ive grown up going to chuys and have always liked this location over the others. This chuys is their MAIN location not saying the other chuys are any worse I just like this location, just a personal preference, I love the food there and the customer service is always great. it can get a bit crowded somedays.
Chuy's is always a great place to get lunch dinner or supper
Its just a really laid back place, kind of chaotic at times, but perfect if you're just looking for a chill austin place with the family or friends.
Great little place on the corner of barton springs near zilker park. I usually sit at the bar and the bartenders are all super friendly and service is fast. Most everything on their menu is great. They have really good salsas to accompany More
3 cookers preparing food without mask. Even without pandemic it is Nasty.
So popular, that there is usually a wait. They have a self serve chip and salsa. Too bad they don't serve the regular menu at the bar because we skipped the wait and ordered appetizers for lunch instead.
Please like review if it has been helpful to you.
Crowded and loud, but typically Austin. The chips were excellent. The herradura margarita was superb. Was not too happy with enchilada sauce but everything else was great.
It is the worst restaurant in Austin. The attention is VERY BAD, the unprofessional staff, do not respect the client, nor your time. I do not recommend it, nor would I return to this place. All his staff the rude and badly staked. They should improve the service since our time and our money is worth a lot.
My first TexMex in TX and i don't rrgret it a second. Amazing happy hour drinks, too.
The flavors and spices are multi-dimensional for a very pleasing dining experience!
This place was awesome! The food was great the service was great. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great. I loved this food and experience while visiting Austin. Prior to this we had a few bad experiences so I m glad this place exists.
Nice friendly staff looking for a large meal to replace lost calories for walking 4miles n swimming at barton springs. Not disappointed.
Vintage Austin at its best. This original Chuy's location is a definite must for any traveler or even locals.
Local staple with great chips and salsa and EXCELLENT wait staff. Fair warning: the salsa is hot and the margaritas aren't messing around. If you're in Austin and are looking for some local history, grab a Bird or a bike and make your way over. They don't take reservations... But don't let the long wait intimidate you. We had a large party and we're able to find room at the bar tables to wait and plenty of chips, salsa, and some kind of ranch dip to keep us occupied during our wait.
Never really liked anything here. Much better options around.
Love this Chuy's. One of my favorite restaurants for chili rellenos. Service was great.
I love Chuy's. All the locations. The food is always good. I'm ADDICTED to the jalapeno ranch dressing. Eat it on chips and everything else.
It was really busy because of the events this weekend, but we still were served fairly quickly, and the employees were still amicable. The margarita on the rocks that I had was average.
Must visit place in Austin...best Mexican food...loved the freshly made chips...it was delicious
Really good fajitas. Large but manageable portions. Steak came out sizzling. Awesome
