I'm a regular to Chuy's and the food is always good.

I usually get the beef fajitas for one, which arrives on a sizzling cast iron plate. The beef on a bed of cooked onion and bell peppers. The guac, cheese, tomatoes and lettuce are topped with sour cream and it's a delicious combination.

The tortillas are freshly made on site and they are the best.

Whilst waiting we have a bowl of tortilla chips and the creamy jalapeno dip and salsa. Absolutely LOVE the creamy dip, is the best.

Washed down with Shiner Bock, I always leave a happy man.

We always come to Chuy's to have one of our favorite Fajitas in town! We really enjoy the atmosphere and the food. The chips and salsa are always a plus since they are usually free :) This location is always vibrant because it's very close to the heart of Downtown!

This is a classic Austin original restaurant. Have not been there in awhile. Last week went there and I had the tacos al carbon. Great taste and plenty of food. It probably is a better deal than the fajita plate which more expensive. Highly recommend.

Went here after ACL a few weeks ago. It was busy but the waitstaff were attentive and super friendly. AP, our server, was bubbly and happy to have a chat - even when they were so busy. The food was simple but tasty - had the fried fish and shrimp tacos. I would probably get grilled next time as the breading on the fish had dried it out a lot. Can't say no to free refills either.

We went here for dinner and loved the free chips and salsa. I had the chuychanga while my fiance had the fajitas. They both came out piping hot and tasted great. The prices weren't bad either!

This is a favorite of mine and my husband's, and we dont have one close to home. So when we were traveling and my kids wanted tex mex, I figured that would be a nice break from the usual fast food we'd eaten on the road and I wont lie, after a long day a margarita sounded great. We arrived at happy hour and I asked about drink specials. My waiter tried to talk me into a large but since I was driving with my kids I opted for a small, and he was not happy about that! Turns out the kids weren't as hungry as they claimed but rather than leave after my margarita, I told them we could share plates. I get being concerned about tips, and having a table of 3 people sharing 2 entrees but I am a generous tipper. But it was too late, his attitude toward us had already turned with my mistake of ordering the cheaper and smaller margarita, so we got nothing but eye rolls from then till we left. The food was hot and delicious as we expected.Other patrons seemed to be happy so I'm sure that location is fine, but our waiter was not very kind.

I always want to dislike Chuy's, I don't know, maybe because it doesn't feel all authentic like some of the other places. But their flour tortillas are homemade and consistently great, and they have the lightest, crispiest chips in town. Get the salsa, queso, and some tacos. And throw in a texas martini. You can thank me later.

I ordered a quesadilla and got...some kind of mini tacos...not cool man, not cool. It was a to go order and I was back at the office before I opened my bag. The food was decent though. I would go back.

Probably my favorite Tex-Mex, at least as far as you can distinguish one place from another for this style of food. Fun interior, well decorated especially for a chain restaurant. Good drink selection, and Sunday / happy hour prices are really good.

Okay, I'm not a big fan of Mexican food, much less Tex-Mex, but Chuy's is pretty darned okay in my book. "Why?" you ask. Tacos.

Holy venerated deities, Batman, Chuy's tacos are delicious. Sadly, you can't order them a la carte or just a plate piled with them--they're always a part of a combo. That said, though, the lite plate offers a taco, guacamole and queso. Pro tip: put that guac in the queso and dip your taco. Messy? Yes. Delicious? You would sell your grandmother for that stuff.

Oh, and as far as atmosphere goes, hope you like Elvis. You'll understand the minute you walk in the door.

Love. Love. Love. Their food. I have grown up with a lot of Mexican food and I usually shy away from mexican food places due to it not being authentic food, but I would 100% pick this restaurant to eat some mexican food.

Even though Chuy's is a chain, it's an ATX-grown chain. As such, it's alright in my book. Admittedly, I go primarily for their happy hour. Cheap(er) 'ritas, both frozen and rocks. If you're taking the frozen route, know that they're all pretty dang sweet.
Oh, best part about happy hour? All you can eat nachos!

Best Tex-Mex period. The food comes fast and the service is fun. Too many favorites to list but my top two are the Green Chili Steak Burrito and the Elvis Chicken Fried Steak.
Always get a side of Hatch Green Chili with your chips and a Mexican Martini to wet your whistle.

Amazing place. Awesome Nacho bar during happy hour and complimentary salsa bar anytime. Elvis-themed original Chuy's is epic Austin and a must-visit. All of the dishes are well-seasoned, especially the fajitas.

Definitely get the creamy jalapeno ranch sauce, which can be dipped, topped, or shipped with a straw.

Had the Friday special enchiladas and they were delicious. Service was very good and on point the whole experience. A much different experience than what I am used to for Tex-Mex. From what I had so far, I would highly recommend.

This was the first Chuy's location in town, and it's my sentimental favorite. The Tex-Mex food they serve is very good, and the atmosphere and decor is great. This is the place to bring your out of town friends when they come to Austin and want to try something local.
