A small octagonal shape catholic church overlooking the Galilee sea. A hill thought to be where Jesus gave the Sermon of the Mount or the eight blessing / beatitudes. I had a privilaged to attend a mass here under a tree canopy in latin language. The place is litarally swamp by pilgrimage or tourist everyday.

It s a very atmospheric place, but there are a lot of tourists, well, very direct, although you can t say that they interfere with each other, the church itself is small, there is no painting on the walls and the dome, but it doesn t lose it at all. All this splendor is located on Mount of Beatitudes, but this is not because a person experiences bliss there, during any entertainment or a special condition. For Christians, the place is noteworthy in that here, during the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus singled out, let s say, the categories of blessed people (believers, peacekeepers, poor in spirit, etc.). This is the central theme of the place. Around the Church there is a park and a gorgeous view of Capernaum and Kinneret. There is a guest house. Be careful, the park closes at 16:45, the entry of 10 shekels from a car, groups on buses according to their own rules.

Another of many wonderful places that we encountered on our journey through the holy Galilean area. The beauty, peace and tranquility of this place could not even be disturbed by a torrential passing thunderstorm during our short visit. My only wish is that our tour schedule allowed our bus to remain here longer. Much to see and take in spirituality!

Walk through the Beatitudes prayer garden. Listen to pilgrims quietly sing praise. A respectful place with good views of the Galilee and interesting acoustics (see Matt. 5-7). Not an archeological place, but a "traditional" location. Souvenir shop. Coffee kiosk. Local wines for purchase. Restrooms (need to pay to use, but very clean.)
