Its a garden with an octagon church. Its cold this time (February) about 15 degrees. Its an important part of the history in Israel. You can see here the memorial stone to give thanks to Philippines and Israel for rescuing and welcoming hundreds of thousands Vietnamese refugees.

During our round-trip we've visited this monastery. Its well build and maintained. Although not very interesting to visit in itself the location is very nice. You're able to look down the slope of the mountain towards the lake. I wouldn't visit this again, due to the fact it has to few interesting things to see.

The octagonal shape of the church suggests that this is a special historical place, for example, the House of Peter in Capernaum. Here the church marks the site of the Sermon on the Mount Jesus. The place itself, the garden, the church are very beautiful and worth a short visit, but in reality there is no reliable reason to believe that this happened here.

The Church of the Beatitudes is a Catholic church in Tabga, Galilee.

Jesus had left Nazareth and lived in Capernaum, on Lake Tiberias, where some of his relatives lived.

According to the tradition of Christians, Jesus would have made the Sermon on the Mount in that area.

Climbed to the mountain, his disciples and other people approached him and he began to teach them:
"Blessed are the poor in spirit because of them is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are those who are in tears, because they will be comforted.
........... "

In 1937/38, on a hill about 200 m above the lake surface, the current Sanctuary called the Beatitudes was built.
It is an octagonal church built with local black basalt, white Nazareth stone and Roman travertine; a building that rises in a pleasant place, surrounded by a rich vegetation and really infuses a lot of bliss.

The Mount of Beatitudes from Matthew 5. Here, according to tradition, Jesus has spoken the beatitudes. You can pray in the church. Unfortunately, many tourists are really noisy and they are regularly reminded of silence there. There are places everywhere where services are held in a small circle. It can be very busy. The nature, flowers, birds (small parrots) are also beautiful. We had to pay an entrance fee of 2.50 euros. The toilets are clean and cost 0.50 euros cents.

A great and devout place with a fantastic view of the Sea of Galilee. Admission is free and only a relatively cheap parking ticket can be solved. This spot may not be missing on any Israel tour!
