Great place to visit, with exciting architecture in an ever changing scene. Always something new to look at even if it's the same thing from a new perspective. The Cafe is also great with friendly staff. I still haven't explored the art centre fully but I know I'll be back, the sooner the better.

Great len lye exhibition which will stay with me for a while. Amazing sculptures were just mesmerising. Other exhibits on too of course, all good. The building is typical of a gallery, spacious and modern and easy to navigate. Staff were very helpful and friendly with us too. We really enjoyed our visit.

An enjoyable visit to this modern, interactive, and engaging gallery. The exhibitions are well designed and make the most of the space. The building itself well presented, large, bright, and interesting in itself.

Great range of art in a stunning building and the restaurant/cafe on site is pretty great as well. The whole build has a morden artistic feel which is really uplifting compared to some art gallery's. A must visit in Christchurch.

Nice building, but I didn t find the art on show as engaging as some other galeries I have been to. Some of it fits into my waste of time modernism. Did enjoy the deep dive into some of the paintings where a screen explains some of the questions about pieces of art.

In New Zealand, admission to museums and art galleries is almost free and I'm happy. The Christchurch Art Gallery and Art Gallery are spacious and very modern in design. On the first floor, a limited-time special exhibition is held. On the second floor, pictures and lifestyles of early European immigrants are permanently displayed, and the scale is said to be the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. In addition, we make full use of high-tech technology so that we can experience various things from adults to children. However, since it is a historically shallow country, I myself felt as though I had gathered exhibits from here and there.

A FREE museum run by the city council of Christchurch (donations of course always accepted). Very interesting galleries and an immaculate facility. There was one featured gallery that required paid admission, but the rest of the museum was free to the public. Just check in your large bags/backpacks at the counter and explore!

Too much of blank walls.

Too much of blank walls.
Too much art of the type one might expect to see in a kindergarten or primary school.
Desperately need to change the management here, to bring it up to the standard of the old McDougall art gallery.

Beautifully designed building which has a great coffee shop. Free entry to most exhibitions although seasonal events are charged. Secure underground parking and accessible galleries. An interesting place to spend a couple of hours.

Big gallery! It features different styles, techniques and a lot of information about the artists and their artworks. You can easily spend 3 hours inside if you read and watch everything carefully. There's loads of activities for the More
