Great place to visit with lots of different art works to enjoy

It's a nice place of interest worth looking at, the galleries could also change depending on what artist is displaying their artwork

Wonderfully accessible for those of us who experience a mobility Impairment! Galleries are big open spaces. I Love Te Puna o Waiwhetu !

Very nice representation of New Zealand indigenous art, free admission. Other modern art doesn't resonate so much but enjoyed it all the same.

We enjoyed the experience...not every thing to our taste. Was good to have use of wheel chair..thank you

It all depends on your interest in art. The museum itself is really beautiful, but the exhibits are short and relatively ordinary. Fortunately it's free.

Free admssion fee. If you are art enthusiast, u will love looking at the varieties of interesting and unique artworks of different themes in the gallery.

Excellent Art Gallery. Fi est art on display. Very modern building fine Architecture, not really my taste but magnificent in it's own way. Lots of glass magnificent stairs Gallery spaces top notch. Some magnificent Canterbury Art hangs there such as Bill Suttons work but it also covers a range of times with excellent examples. Give yourself plenty of time here.

The building is very nice. The exhibitions are average to less than average. Seems too few objects to fill the space available. I do not appreciate flaky modern "art" which, to me, is fake.

Please note that luggage will be stored at the counter. Admission is basically free, donation method.

Not an artsy person but there is something for everyone one here.

Visited the Jacquelyn Fay exhibition it was excellent.

We really enjoyed the dark exhibitions that are currently on display. Our 7 month old was very entertained. Plenty of variety and some really interesting and different things on display.

Good selection of contemporary art, arranged in good interesting selections. Good special displays too. Excellent venue. Highly recommended for an hour or two.

Definitely a place to visit while you are in Christchurch. Very friendly and helpful staff and interesting exhibitions. It is nice to see there Maori art too. They have something like interactive corners, where you can make art or play some board games. Bonus point - it is for free.

Imposing art gallery Interactive, with a lot of information. Good works of painting and photography. Architecturally a marvel.

An excellent collection. Lots of variety and interesting exhibitions put together by the curators.

I particularly enjoyed the "Bad Hair Day" exhibition which brought together different modern and classic works in very clever ways.

Enjoyed the art and craft works within the art centre

Had a free tour. Although i wouldn't consider myself an art enthusiast, the tour and explanations by the friendly volunteer made it really memoriable.

Brilliant exhibition of Gordon Walters work. Worth travelling from Wellington for.

Extensice art gallery lots to see great selection of New Zealand artists and lovely spacious galleries. The gallery tour was great too

So good to be able to walk around the Arts Centre spaces again. Fabulous job on the restoration too.

great funky art centre, and cafe inside, live music, cenral city, reasonable parking.

Good place too visit with family and friends. The problem is that there is not a restaurant inside but a lot of them in the surrounding. Free Wi-Fi and restrooms. Wheelchair access. It have an information desk with guide maps and you can live your bags or staff there so you dont have to carry all your day inside the building.

Loved it! Super varied, different art history periods. Mixture of classic art and contemporary art. The building is beautiful. I especially enjoyed the 1st floor constant exhibition with the various painters from New Zealand.

Such a beautiful building to walk around and I have always found the exhibitions to be beautifully executed. Very impressed.

Lovely venue right in the center of town, was there for the SPCA Fashion Show

A lot of curious things to see here. Especially the moving installations. Entrance is free.

Light-filled building with selection of modern New Zealand art

Beside the building itself which is amazing there is a superb collection of art work.Also some very modern art displays using light in various ways.

Nice gallery featuring lots of local artists. Decently small size shouldn't take you more than 90min to see the whole thing through. Some older paintings as well as modern art. Were treated to a surprise concert by the city concert band in the lobby while we were there. Parking is cheap and no ticket to enter:)

Good range of different art styles. Very well curated and well worth the 2-3 hours it takes to go through.

Contemporary art offering something for everybody. Staff fantastic - very professional. Love the film night every Monday at 7.30pm. :(

I'm not an art gallery fan and went because of an exhibition recommended to me but unfortunately that exhibition had ended, so for me it was an average experience.

Always an awesome experience. The ground floor has a large table with educational toys for kids, just in case they get bored. Photos in the galleries are usually fine so long as you don't infringe an artist's copyright, and the gallery itself is exceptional. Donations in the main foyer are invited, but don't worry if you don't have cash on you. There's an EFTPOS machine as well.

A dream and highlight for everyone interested in art and like almost all museums in NZ free of charge. Hi Germany ???!!!

Great atmosphere and exhibitions, and there are street performers interacting with the onlookers in the outer square.

I'm not usually one for art galleries but the different types of art on display was great and was really captivating
