Food is quite good, however some of the dishes were a bit overseasoned, e.g. the pimientos the pardon. Waited quite a while for desert and then for the check as service didn't seem to be very attentive.

This is one of my favourite restaurants. Expensive but worth it. Always very busy and needs a booking. Food is exquisite. Best Sashimi in London and you have to try the broccoli - yes I did say broccoli!

We were there for an early dinner at 6pm. The music was so loud, we had to shout to hear each other. We asked twice for the music to be a little softer, but they put it up again within 5 minutes. What's the point of having to shout whilst having dinner? The food was very mediocre. The so called tempura was soggy and nothing to do with Japanese tempura. The aubergine was dry and under-cooked, again, nothing to do with the Nasu aubergine Japanese dish. The service was slow, we waited 45min for our first dish and we had to ask twice our waiter about our food. People arriving after us had almost finished eating, we hadn't even started. The waiter took away a plate where there was still food and didn't ask if we had finished (we hadn't indeed).
The only truly good dish were those with raw fish, both were excellent.
If you cherish true Japanese food, this is not the place. If you want nice cocktails and disco-style settings, this is for you :)

Really excellent food, fresh and full of different flavours. Only downside was that the restaurant is very large and as a result, loud and everyone is fairly packed together so hearing one another can be a slight pain but a buzzy atmosphere nonetheless.

Terrible service!

Terrible service!
We were sat really close to the couple next to us, given the menu after 10 minutes and ordered to leave at exactly 1h 30m when we hadn t even finished our wine. We had to go downstairs and stand their in a very crowdy bar to finish our two glasses of wine.

We won t come back again

A true food experience. Incredible tastes. Combined with great service and cool atmosphere. Friday night was packed w nice people and cool beats.
The pulpo, the beef and the spicy chicken - delicious! Of the desserts, the chocolate cake and the cream Catalana. A must in London!

Finding the place wasn't hard, just follow your google maps. When we arrived it was very loud with people drinking downstairs but they took us upstairs to our table where it was less loud and better atmosphere.

Our waitress was amazing- can not fault the service whatsoever. Portion sizes are good- not small at all. Order 7 plates and it was all amazing- after 5 plates we were already full.

Would definitely recommend this place!

Very pleasant place, cosy and with delicious food.
However, the service itself has definitely to be improved.

At first, when asked about the difference between two menus the explanation resumed to nine words - "one is premium and the another one is not" (well, based on the meal plan we could know it by ourselves).
We opted for the premium, which includes a set of 7 different dishes (overall, it's a good option). From the five different employees that attend us, only one took the care of explaining the dishes. For this type of cuisine, this is something indispensable.

Bottom line: It's a nice place, in particular for groups, but still has a long path to walk to rich a higher standard.
I hope it helps ;)

Mixed feelings, food was good not great and at their prices I expected better, I was served out of date beer, their manager Ohan was terrible in terms of management, didn't approach the table once event to apologize for expired product not welcoming not productive the lovely waitress ( Brazilian young lady) was very attentive, apologetic and eager to learn about wine (she was superb) I will not be back not because of a terrible experience (it wasn't too bad) but absolutely no interest from management in making you feel special in the current times I'd expect much more. That said I work in hospitality and just not worth the money many more restaurants in London doing much more for their guests! Sorry

Incredible Cuisine! Japanese and Peruvian fusion has always been one of my favorites, however after tasting the food at Chotto Matte I have officially decided that it is not only my favorite cuisine but also my favorite restaurant in London, if not in Europe. Food very well presented/ Excellent 5-star service/ Delicious, Tasty Food. Overall very impressed by this restaurant and would definitely recommend. Check out my Instagram Page @fafa.food where I posted some pictures of the food I had (story post). Amazing!

Amazing dinner. If you enjoy watching food prep, definitely grab a seat upstairs and check out the Robata grill while you dine on amazingly flavorful dishes. The sushi is exquisite. Also, the Lima old fashioned is a delicious fusion of rum with banana and chocolate - one of the best meals if had in years!! Enjoy!

Credit to the team at Chotto Matte. If previously, as reviewed by others, they suffered from indifferent service, they have cleaned up their act. We enjoyed warm, friendly and highly efficient service throughout our evening. Victor, our server for the evening, was excellent.

As a newcomer to Peruvian cuisine, I have nothing against which to benchmark Chotto Matte's offerings. However taken on their own, all 5 of us were impressed with all of our choices. The focus was on seafood - sashimis, ceviches, tartars, and the obligatory black cod as well as vegetables. The fish was very fresh and delicious. For the vegetarians in our party, the options were numerous, all of which were creative, well presented and very tasty.

Desserts were equally delightful.

I look forward to returning and to try more of the extensive menu.

So crowded, should book before. Nicely decorated with supper friendly staff, the only thing that was annoying is there was no AC! It was so hot. Spicy edmame, vegetable and tuna tacos are must!

Great food, Pity about the service. As a group of 4 ee had the tasting menu 2, but things were brought out in a very haphazard manner, multiple plates, one course never arriving. I expect a tasting menu to show the skills of the chef. Whilst the skills are certainly of a high quality, when 3 courses arrive simultaneously, is difficult to get the sense of a culinary journey.

Peruvian-Japanese fusion with INCREDIBLE flavours. The ceviche is fresh, the meat is tender and the sushi is some of the best in London. Great pisco sours and cocktails, and it's open late. Quite an expensive meal but worth every penny. Make sure to get the dessert platter.

nice

Second time here and it was just as fab! Atmosphere is great! Super buzzy and fun. Love the decor and lighting. We were there celebrating my birthday in a group of 7, food is delicious and great to share. The service was really good, we didn't feel rushed or pressured the staff joined in on our fun and kept all at the table happy. Will definitely be back!
Faves from the menu- padron peppers, classic tuna tostadita, nikkei sashimi, corn- sides, chicken dish from the robata section is super yum and so is the ebi tempura!
Can't wait to come back!

Nice atmosphere with the music and you can hear each other talk. The staff were very attentive and efficient. The food came quick. The seats are a bit uncomfortable as you feel too low for the table and quite laid back. A bit pricey but what you would expect.

The food was pricey, and the portions small. But it was well worth it! The food was tasty with very unique flavours. The only downside was they had cramped the restaurant way too much, to a point where waiters couldn't get around without bumping people.

Modern in this Japanese-Peruvian restaurant in the center of Soho. Irregular food with some interesting dishes and others just just like prawns. It was very good the sea bass ceviche and almost all the makis we ordered. All right. Pimp
