Nice place number one for me. But please change toilets as it gets dirty after first go and cleaners struggle to clean its obvious! Let workers enjoy their work too!

Surprisingly good food ... good atmosphere in the middle of Soho
Too expensive for what it's worth. We went on a group of 6 people with a mixture of vegetarians and non vegetarians.
Starters were too small. Don't even bother ordering corn puffs, they are not good and a joke! Main courses did not taste that great.
Drinks were decent and restaurant ambience is nice.
Staff delivered wrong food to our tables twice and didn't bring one of our starters. They then complained to me why I didn't pay the full discretionary service charge!
Not going there again.
Excellent food, great service and lovely cocktails. Nice buzzy vibe
The fusion of Peruvian and Japanese works really well. A few different tasting menus available, as well as a la carte. Don't miss the Pisco Sour!
Definitely a restaurant for special occasions only since it's quite expensive. Interesting fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine. We had one of the set sharing menus. I liked it but quite a few of the dishes had a lime sour flavour so if you don't like that i would avoid it. Worth a try!
Chotto Matte provided a great atmosphere, quality service and amazing flavor profiles. I would highly encourage dropping in for either the chef's menu (available for dinner) or the weekend brunch, which provides a great value for money.
They serve fusion food here. If that's your thing you might enjoy the place and food. I decided not to eat here as I wasn't breve enough to have a fusion meal that night. Very well stocked bar and friendly staff. I did try the food on another occasion and was pleasantly surprised. I will definitely be back for more.
A truly great and inspiring fusion experience, went there for dinner and it had everything, food, atmosphere, staff etc
Okay so food here is amazing. three stars this visit because the service was really lacking. Arrived at nine with a tasting menu and didn't leave until midnight. Asked multiple times for desert (maybe from around 11:30) and staff kept saying it was coming but nothing was served until 12:00 when they started putting up the lights and closing up... Was one of those unpleasant moments when you are keeping all the staff there and you don't enjoy the dish which is awful given the cost of it all! It's weird because no such issues existed last time I came. I'd be hesitant to come again because bad service makes the experience less enjoyable. That said the food is delicious and I would recommend going once. The Rioja by the glass is also great.
Great food, a fusion of Japanese flavours and Peruvian dishes. Must try.
Lots of inventive Japanese and Peruvian inspired dishes. The crowd is quite hip and young adult skewing.
had the Saturday brunch menu, absolutely delicious and great service, also when taking into consideration that a long drink and half a bottle of wine are included, great value for money! recommend!!
Was here for a dinner with my family and definitely had a nice experience.
The food there tastes great, with odd fusion twists that spark your tastebuds.
Would recommend the Nikkei gyozas, beef cheek, octopus and also the black cod.
However I can t give five stars due to a few things.
Firstly, the waiters seemed extremely rushed and quite unprofessional in other aspects as well.
Also, the dirty toilets and the long, long wait in between dishes, which others have already mentioned.
Very good experience. My first time in this restaurant, the service was really fast, food was amazing and very unique. Fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisines working surprisingly good. I'm very enjoyed from an evening in this restaurant.
We took a cocktail at the bar before heading to the table and it was really good! The food at the restaurant is unique and tasty! Great ambience and perfect central location!
Overall I was really satisfied and good service too!!
Colorful and delicious food. It is highly recommended
A great Japanese/Peruvian fusion restaurant bringing the best of both worlds. I have to give a lot of credit to those chefs who make every dish taste superb. Grilled spicy octopus is a must-have; bento boxes are a great quick fix if you struggle to select from a wide choice of things; However, sampling the menu is what this place is about. I would recommend to come here on a Thurs - Sat nights as music/ambiance is more weekend like than for a more low key weekday dinner. Great spot to meet up with friends/bigger groups, nights out
One of the best places I've ever eaten. Service was great but the food was excellent. It can be slightly expensive especially for large parties but the range of flavors is well worth the cost.
Cool bar... and perhaps some of the snazziest toilets in all of Soho
Thanks both Bryan and Rali for your wonderful attention while such amazing dinner!
Not sure why the other reviews complain about the service. I thought the service was pretty damn quick considering it was packed on a Friday evening, took a bit longer towards the desserts but I mean it's not exactly hard to flag someone down. This is a buzzing joint in Soho! We had a fantastic time, try and sit at the bar - you can watch the octopus getting grilled. Great fun, I thought the food and the dessert platter were great too. We sort of just blundered in here by chance and were really impressed.
Not cheapest. But their theatre set meal is a great option. Super tasty. Pin point service. Maybe waiters were a little too keen to help at points but can't really criticize that too much. Great decor and atmosphere.
Ambiance is really cool. Sofisticated high end resturant. Good choice for vegetarians. Service staff was excellent. Best place to get a sushi if you are around soho. Highly recommended well pleased.
Interesting food and cocktails at Soho prices. You'll want around 3 dishes a head. Cocktail menu is hard to decipher and the drinks are quite small - but the pisco sour is great.
Funky toilets and great cocktails, probably worth a visit. Food wasn't for me but that's a personal thing and nothing against the business.
Perfect for dinner out with a group, the service is great and our waitress "Alexandra" was very nice and helpful!
A blow your mind sensation to your palate and your senses. Divine food, great music and fantastic service!
A mediocre place you can eat well but it is very expensive basically 100 per person I honestly do not like it very much since the waiters are in a hurry and they can even get you to throw a drink on you since they are in a hurry and they collide with each other
Chic modern decor. Great cocktails, good service and the sushi did not disappoint! Would visit again. Highly recommend!
Service charge for normal bar service is pretty rude. Can request to remove it, but when you're in a social situation this discussion with bar staff becomes awkward. Pretty dismissive response email by general manager when I questioned it.
The food was in general pretty nice, if a little small, and it was overpriced for what it was.
The Tasting menu with Black cod is good value for money at 65 pound pp. The amount of food was not only generous but tasty and never boring. Its great when you decide to go for a tasting menu and not one single dish is dull. Will come back. Ps: Brian did a really great job looking after us, so friendly and attentive.
Nice venue nice vibe , depending what your spending limit is depends on you? But it's ok for me and I enjoy it, good waitering
Good food! Great vibe! Try get a later reservation so you don't get rushed for the next sitting.
Great food and cocktails, but perhaps a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. The cool venue and crowd makes it worth a visit.
Amazing food, very helpful and attentive staff. Pricey, but you get what you pay for! I highly recommend the miso chicken, or the crispy duck tempura.
Really good fusion food. The decor was great and along with the atmosphere. Toilets were very clean. Only issue is that personally I am not a fan of restaurants with very dim lighting, was a little hard to read the menu.
Went for drinks, modern and nice inside but found the service a bit poor.
Loved this restaurant staff very helpful and friendly. Great vegetarian menu choices. Great atmosphere and ambience.
A mouthwatering experience that'll keep you coming back. Been a few times and they never disappoint. A certain pitstop if you're visiting London or simply a local. Be sure to reserve.
It does annoy me when a service charge is added when you're served at the bar. Otherwise a nice place.
Had a decent experience, my first time at this location.
The plus points are the music, the decor and the overall vibe of the place was excellent.
My personal favourite was the staff, they were welcoming, helpful and but most of all looked like they enjoyed working there.
I would back for that last point alone.
The gentleman on the door on Saturday night was especially courteous.
The only downside I can point out is that as we went for just drinks and no food on Saturday, myself and my group felt that the drinks were somewhat underwhelming and lacking value.
Apart from that I would say it was a good experience
Great Restaurant...highly recommend trying the Japanese/Peruvian cuisine!!
Great food, great service, great atmosphere - definitely going back again soon.
Fabulous food, good service, but terribly uncomfortable seats and ridiculously loud music for a restaurant
An experience to do. A very successful mix of Japanese and Brazilian. The restaurant is very trendy, the bathroom is a work of design.
Summary: A horrendous customer experience overall due to inadequately trained staff and poor restaurant management. Waiters were grossly inattentive and managers were not equipped to deal with the situations that arose.
I ended up walking over to restaurant across the road and received far more attentive service at a lower price.
If you would like to know what went wrong during our visit, please review the points raised below.
Part 1 lowlights:
1. My partner and I were seated on a rickety table and chair. I called the manager over who was unable to stabilise the table with a hand towel and moved us to a new table.
2. The manager moved us to a table in front of smokers without asking us if we were alright with it (we were not smokers...). This table and chair was also rickety, albeit less than before.
3. My partner was then handed a pair of chopsticks that were of unequal length because one chopstick was chipped.
I complained again about points 2 and 3, and we were moved to a table further into the restaurant. At this point, I considered walking out, however, the manager apologised profusely and said that he would make things right.
Part 2 lowlights:
1. Thirty minutes into the meal, after empty starter plates were removed, we sat at the table for 20 minutes waiting for our mains. A waiter agreed to look into where our mains were, but after 10 minutes, never returned. I called another waiter to ask to speak to the manager, and that waiter also never returned.
2. My partner and i ended up walking out. Prior to walking out, I looked for the manager myself. I said all of the above and he apologised profusely as well. According to the manager, the food we were meant to be served was not properly cooked and had to be recooked. He (Andrei) asked me to return again to give the restaurant another chance (third chance). I said probably not, and he kept insisting I come back.
Saturday night good vibe in the bar and the food in the restaurant was amazing
The staff are very attentive especially the restaurant mananger
Can't wait to book up again
Cos was good. Just wished they didn't mix all the bento into 2 boxes so that the hot food was cold was the cold food was warm.
Ve been there for an After dinner drink. Nice atmosphere and lot of choice.
Great atmosphere along with very delicious food. Customer service on point. A bit pricey but it's worth it and you will never regret going Chotto Matte. Would recommend it for couples, family and friends groups.
Great food, great drinks, lovely people working there too
Was here for a large team event, food was tasty and they offered options for the vegetarians that came with us as well.
The food - amazing, as always 5 stars, we ordered more even though we were stuffed (would recommend the octopus)
3 stars due to lack of following any guidance regarding the safety of diners in the current environment... Only a few people wearing facemasks when walking around the place, the tables upstairs are crammed as they were before (maybe worse), the backs of all of our chairs were touching with those around us - with the head of the diner behind me less than 50cm from mine. The tables in the middle between the bar and the outer benches should really have been removed - people constantly walked so close to our table that it was kicked 3-4 times during dinner. The waiters were overwhelmed with the amount of people there, the service suffered terribly.
While understanding the pressure the hospitality industry is under to survive, the lack of thought and disregard towards safety was shocking especially when estabments similarly priced have done a better job.
If you are at all concerned about social distancing / pandemic safety then I would consider an alternative. We will not be returning soon.
I truly enjoyed dinner here. Perfect place in Soho for great cocktails and good food. The baked salmon is a must. The rolls are fresh. The pisco sour is lovely and the yuzu martini a must !
Also service is ++++
The service was impeccable. Three of us had the sharing menu. Each course was explained well and tasted so unique and new. Worth every penny
Food was absolutely brilliant. Prices aren't cheap, that's for sure. But it was well worth it for a special occasion.
Waiters were very friendly; however, the tasting menu could have been explained a little bit more as the dishes were brought over.
The food was the only good thing. The service was a shame, we ordered a dish and asked plenty of time about it but we never got it, every time we got an excuse from the waitress. Music too loud. I would not suggest this place.
Lovely place for drinks with the girls. Haven't tried the food yet!
Everythin ON POINT! Bar Downstairs WOW! I'm sorry but I Don't remember the names of 2 guys who were makin coctails for us. They were AMAZING! Best mojitos I had in a long time and my friend LOVED his selection of coctails too!! After 4-5 rounds of drinks we went upstairs for a meal. Chef's special!! OMG! AMAZING 7 course meal ! Denis was our chef! RESPECT!
Delicious food and really friendly, attentive service
Great food, great cocktails and great atmosphere! It is a little pricey, so not for everyone.
Lovely service and tasty food, can be a bit pricey.
Loved it. Cool fusion of mainly Asian cuisine frequented by the new-beautiful people of Soho
Very disappointing and rude service which spoiled quite a good meal.
I can see this is a trend, but not for me. noisy, regular foods with zone1 plus price. after spending 50 per head we left still hungry...
We came here on a lunch break for cocktails while waiting for our table at Honest Burgers.
We were sat down promptly, and perused the menu with intrigue. The group ordered some martinis, and I ordered the 'Cherry Martinez':
Despite it being relatively quiet in the restaurant, we found our drinks order took quite a while to arrive - nearly 20 minutes in fact. So, even though the hostess was very pleasant, all in all I have to mark the place down because of the slow service.
We did appreciate the time in some way, as we had more time to take in the surroundings. We loved the rounded edges of the bar and stools, the giant 'light bulbs' and the overall ambience.
When the drinks did arrive, we pretty much had to drink them as quick as we can. Luckily there wasn't too much to drink in my case, and paying close to a tenner for it felt a bit steep. However it must be said that the Cherry Martinez was good! Fruity, tangy with a bit of a kick. I think the flavour combination worked very well.
We asked for the bill, and again there was a bit of a delay. We had to request the bill from several staff members before it arrived, and there was an issue with the card machine in that it wasn't connecting online (apparently they are aware of this issue). We had to wait for a replacement card machine.
Overall, I had an OK time at Chotto Matte. The drink was great, but due to its price and the slow albeit friendly staff (who also recommend Honest Burgers, by the way) let down the experience. I'd like to give it another visit to try the food when I am not in so much of a rush.
