I haven t eaten there yet but i definitely will next time i go. Last night we found the place not knowing it previously. Stayed couple of hours just for drinks and didn t want to leave! It was soooooo nice! The weather obviously helped as it was a warm summer evening, the whole front of the shop was opened which added to a very cool ambiance. I looove the decor, the music, definitely the music, the drinks and the service.. Need more places like this in London!!!
The place to visit, taste the specialties and spend a good evening despite the bottle of Chablis at 80 euros ... Super refuge ...
Fantastic but hame the prosecco is always too warm
I love this place, I keep coming. Food is fantastic, the place is amazing but the prosecco is never cold :-( That didn't stop us drinking 2 bottles :-) Lot's of ice and wait 10 minutes
Our major criticism was on the below par quality of service considering the price charged. We went on Saturday for lunch. The restaurant was not crazily busy as there were a few tables free. However we had to wait a very long time for each course to arrive, about 20 minutes between starter and main, and another 15 minutes for the dessert. One of the waiters seemed to be very confused as to where to send our main course because we saw him coming out with our main, walking around the restaurant and then returning to the kitchen with the same dish. We had to call the waiter serving our table to chase the food back. When our waiter returned, not to mention there were no apologies, he openly expressed how unpleasantly his working experience was by shouting at us saying he had had enough working there and he would quit soon. We did not speak to the supervisor/manager at the time because we were with friends. However we were surprised how unprofessional the staff were and wondered how such a restaurant could obtain an average score of above 4!
Slow service and clueless. Could the waiters get some training please.
Great location for cocktails and tapas with an intimate ambience. A bit expensive
Japanese restaurant, grill and sushi bar fusing traditional clean lines with a grungy Tokyo style.
Service is very good, atmosphere sets a really nice vibe for socializing and dining but the music could be a bit too loud sometimes. It could help to tune the vjme down a little but so it would match the classier vibe of the setting rather than closing into the feeling of trying to yell in each other's ear in a nightclub. But lovely food and environment overall!
The food was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant looks very cool. The only let down was the slow service.
The sushi selection is amazing! Vegetable tempura was also delicious. Desserts were so different from the usual but so nice at the same time. Beware! It will empty your wallet but worth going for the experience and tasty food.
A great selection of different foods and flavours. Fantastic.
Bento box was nice enough slightly different from traditional bento and the dessert was really tastey.
So try hard to be cool but service or genuine character is non existent
Amazing service...they had the best smile while serving us and made my birthday dinner filled with happiness
Great food, amazing options for lunch.
Great staff!
Overpriced for what it is. I didn t rate the sushi. Not many positives I can say about the food if I m being honest. The only positives I can say is that the venue decor was amazing. Great place to take a date.... prepare to spend the dollar!
It is a dish that I do not understand at all whether it is a Peru and Japan fusion. It is not necessarily affirming to say that it is bad or not, but it is a dish that is not well understood. Because it was also a weekend, the store was busy but I closed when I missed BGM.
Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful experience. The service by the staff was excellent, the food and the cocktails were delicious. Thank you for the great experience.
Fantastic restaurant. Great vibes and the scallops.. wow
Nice Food and atmosphere. Service is a bit too fast
Nice cocktails, great food, tables a bit too close to each other though. Pity they do not serve the same menu outside
We started our evening with a selection of the house cocktails, two of which were served in intriguing little bottles to be poured over a glass of ice. Very fun! Later into the meal we ordered some wine, a beautiful tempranillo from Rioja, which complimented the food fabulously.
Every dish was a delight, the asado de tira (beef) in particular was so tender that it literally fell apart and was beautifully marinated. The fried chicken and the pork belly were my other two favourites of what we had. Every dish was perfectly paired with sauces where appropriate, and the timing and grouping of the dishes was well thought out. Massive compliments to the chefs.
The service was excellent, we were served by Miguel, who was fun, professional, and gave excellent suggestions. His table management was impeccable, and he gave us clean plates when appropriate for the change in dishes.
It was my first time trying sushi and ceviche, and I couldn't imagine a better place to do so. Even the most particular in our group enjoyed it. The ceviche had a citrus flavour of course, and was served at the start of the meal, so was a wonderfully fresh appetiser. The tuna sushi was served at the end of the meal, and was a delicious introduction sushi for everyone that had never tried it before.
Finally the dessert, the magical chocolate ball, recommend by Miguel. It was beautifully presented, and paired perfectly with a coffee tequila. An excellent ending to a perfect night. We left the restaurant full, and happy. I would give more stars if it were possible, and I will definitely be back!
Overall average experience, but good food. We were seated at 22:15 and didn't get attended to until 22:40. The music was way too loud - I couldn't hear my friend talk! The food was good. Our favourite was the tiger prawns. The desserts were amazing, specifically the green tea mochi which was out of this world! The manager gave us our desserts on the house, to apologise for the long wait at the beginning - and for those reasons I'd give it a 4 star rating.
Loved the cocktails and the food. Artfully competent cocktails provided a balanced taste spectrum and imaginative presentation. Favorites - Moshi #3 and Pisco Pornstar. We followed those with one of the tasting menus and were delighted time and again with the presentation and combination of flavors and textures. The menu features Nikkei cuisine - a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cultures. Favorites included the beef tataki and the black cod. Added benefit was the Halloween date - all staff and many guests were in costume, adding a wonderfully bizarre twist to the experience. Deducted one star because the service was rather rude at the end in order to turn the table over. It wasn't necessary and we weren't lingering. They started to push before we were even presented with the dessert from our tasting menu. Bad form.
a bit overpriced but a nice place to go to over the weekend
Food was really nice! Amazing flavours. I would reccomend any of the sushi! Staff were really friendly and attentive , however, the price is quite high but this is to be expected in central london.
Never tried Peruvian food, but phenomenal menu! Definitely recommending the sushi bar upstairs for the better atmosphere x
Great place! Really cool interior, friendly staff, and good food. We had the deluxe tasting menu which was A LOT of food but all very tasty.
Highly recommended! I go there almost every time I'm in London, wonderful food, interesting flavours and combinations. A bit pricey, but definitely worth it! Book in advance, but even If you have to wait, enjoy a drink at the bar downstairs.
Great vibe ... great service... great food. Had a great evening it was good fun ... until we got the bill which was a bit painful but worth it!
Best Sushi in London. Love the ambiance and the cocktails are superb!
Great restaurant. Very good food. Trendy. Nice place. Good music. Great drinks.
Having travelled to Japan countless times, I generally loathe any type of Japanese fusion. However I can safely say that Chotto Matte absolutely nailed it, with some amazing and brilliant flavour combinations, cannot recommend highly enough.
Also the name is brilliant. Chotto matte in Japanese being "please wait a moment", and matte in south America being a style/form or tea. (I may have done a disservice to matte there)
Very tasty food if on the pricey side. Great for taking clients to, plenty of larger tables and a decent wine selection
Really good cocktails and good value albeit expensive set menus
Expensive, amazing food. The only reason this gets a 4 instead of 5 is due to noise levels and over crowding.
Great atmosphere. Sat outside and beer is not that pricy. They also give you tasty snacks with your II plus orders for drinks.
Amazing experience. Food was something that literally made me experience new tastes. One of the waiters was extremely friendly and offered lots of info about Japanese cuisine and culture. Even if pricey it is definitely worth, as it is a first class experience.
Food, Atmosphere and Service were all spot on! I've not eaten so much in long time.
one of the best restaurants i had. service is mot the best. food is amazing!!!
Food was great! but sadly sat under a speaker and couldn't hear ourselves- and told it gets louder in the evenings, and then the fire alarm went off!
Amazing food and great drinks. Had a great time here... Except for the service. It's slow, the waitress took plates away before we'd finished etc.
Great cocktails and atmosphere. Definitely order the "she's so smoking"
Consistently great. Our pick for when new friends are in town before heading out in Soho.
Delicious, food, great vibe and the music is banging x
Interesting Japanese - Peruvian fusion that's well executed. The only downside is it is trying way too hard to be trendy - loud music and a little on the expensive side.
Great food! A bit too bougie but will definitely come again.
Delicious inventive food. Even better if someone else is paying.
Terrible service. I used to go quite often but yesterday I went with a couple friends and the man at the reception was really rude and made us wait for our table 30 minutes. Our waitress was really rude too, kept saying she couldn't bring More
Amazing! I ordered from deliveroo and tried a variety of dishes my favourites were the black cod, Asado di Tira (braised beef) and octopus. I could tell they used high quality ingredients and the flavour combinations were to die for!!! They served generous portions and would definitely recommend.
I visit the place twice: once it was amazing and once really bad. Food is interesting and good. Service can be good and bad.
