The best asado de tira that I've ever tried! Great ambient and the staff was very kind
Cocktails are are okay, whatever you do don't pay cash, you won't get your change.
Great cocktails and wonderful food. Highly recommend the octopus and seabass ceviche
An amazing food deserve an amazing service and Chotto Matte deliver both without doubt. I have been there twice the first time with my girlfriend and the second time with some friends. Both the visits have been absolutely stunning. Andrej, the restaurant manager was attentive and checked twice if everything was ok. The service from the waiters was professional and really appreciated. And finally the food. I must say without a doubt that all the dishes we ordered where cooked to perfection. The dressing was spot on. The flavours mind blowing. I'll be back .
Incredible food! The vegan tuna maki and their chicken miso are really good - I wish they had these 2 dishes on their takeout menu. I did not like the asparagus rolls much . They ve got a cute wall downstairs for pictures, etc. 4 star rating because my friend s food took literally an hour more than ours to arrive (both appetisers as well as mains). However, this was 2 days before tier 3 lockdown so its understandable!
Great food -we loved the sushi, and if you get to sit by the counter, you have the opportunity to watch the chefs on duty. Mainstream environment, it will please all tastes.
Incredible experience, best japanese restaurant in London
I had a wonderful time for my mother s birthday. The food was more than incredible (try the vegetarian sharing menu!) and the staff amazing. I couldn t recommend a better place in London for celebrating a special occasion! Thank you
Horrific service killed what would have been half-decent food. Every single interaction with staff was unpleasant. The food is nowhere near interesting enough to put up with the attitude.
Sparkling and enthusiastic vibe in the heart of Soho. The young and committed staff creates a unique dining experience. Keita's (the Sushi Head Chef) Japanese cuisine it's phenomenal!
Food is nice, but nothing amazing, little bit overpriced.
Favourite restaurant in London! Perfect for a date night, great vibe and amazing food
Delicious food but our anniversary dinner on Saturday night was let down by low tub seating (my husband had his knees up around his ears and being short, I needed a cushion behind me so I didn't have to perch to eat my food at the table). Also music really loud and pumping (a bit enthusiastic for eating dinner) and the lights are positioned to shine in diner's eyes instead of on table. With small changes to these things I'd give this place a hearty 5 stars.
Bustling atmosphere, delicious food, diligent service and easy to get to...what more do you want? Well worth a visit.
Not impressed. Although the octopus is nice there is lack of coordination of different dishes you order and a big confusion. For example mashed potatoes came together with desert. Although I love The Peruvian influence on Japanese cuisine there are better options especially for this price.
This simply is one of the best restaurants in London for a dinner date! The food, service, cocktails, wine list, ambiance is 10/10!
Lovely pretheatre meal with great service. For what you get it is great value for money
A delectable dining option, with much on the menu that looked appetizing! I frequently saw dishes being delivered to other tables that made me think "damn, I wish I ordered that!" Which, of course, means I'll have to go back!
Food was abysmal. Service was slow. Music too loud, couldn't hear anyone.
Had the veggie tasting menu, staff were very slow to bring out each course. Staff had also forgotten to bring out the last course but very prompt to hand the bill.
The only delight I took in my visit was hearing the tables next to us complain about the service and the food.
Please avoid at all costs, your wallet will certainly thank you :)
I was surprised how cramp the dining area got - Not very COVID friendly! With tables packed to the max, my partner's chair ended up back to back with another table's guest which made for very uncomfortable manouevres to the toilet and such.
In terms of food, we ordered 2 seabass ceviches, presumably 1 for each diner. However, we were not advised that they DO NOT serve 2 plates but rather a single (not-much-larger) portion on 1 plate. So my poor friend was left wondering where her starter had gone until it was too late and the single plate had already been polished off. This is rather unusual and if it is their practice, they need to specify on the menu it goes by portion or it could have been better communicated by the wait staff.
Late night drinks. Happy to serve us just drinks. Welcoming, polite staff. Good ambience.
Nice, buzzing place. Food was really good, best suited for sharing. Don't be afraid, pick a bunch of different random things and enjoy!
Great food, good location and very nice and friendly staff. Menu was a bit overwhelming at first, but once you think of it as tapas it's easy enough to get a good sharing selection. Unfortunately we were located in a corner next to a speaker and the music was way too loud. Hard to hear the person next to you and we all had to shout over the music. Made an otherwise great experience less so.
Incredible quality of food, every dish is really flavorful and beautifully presented. Amazing atmosphere and visuals somewhere for a nice dinner however with music and low lighting. It is also a pretty expensive so be prepared to pay a fair amout
Awesome atmosphere, awesome food, awesome cocktails. Great place!
This mix of Peruvian and Japanese food is unusual, but hugely enjoyable. There's an emphasis on seafood type dishes, including lobster and crabs.
There's also sushi, sashimi and steaks.
Great atmosphere, creative and unusual cocktails, food is amazing!
Not bad but certainly not spectacular. People and service are good and friendly, but the food experience is well behind places like Roka or Hakasan. Music was a bit too loud, but that could just be me getting older.
Service was mixed - one waitress was great the other was not very present but definitely very rude.. they suggested the sharing menu which ended up being a total screw up because we spent a fortune and had very little food and only one or More
The food and environment were excellent, some of the best sushi I have had. Great place to eat for a special occasion. Be wary that you need 3-4 dishes each though!
Great selection of dishes, interesting menu and really helpful and friendly staff.
Good overall experience. The food is tasty and the menu offers a good variety of choices. However, the music in the restaurant is a bit loud. We were a group of 10 and it is difficult to communicate with the people that are not sitting right next to you.
Had diner at Chotto Matte for a friend's hen do on Friday night. It was a very busy evening. We were sat at our table late and had our food order arrive to our table late as well. But the general manager Thomas personally apologised to our party and took care of us the whole way. The food was delicious and so well presented. I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves sea food and Asian food. The service might have been slow but i give this place and the GM 2 thumbs way up high!!!
Had one bad experience, over crowded and under staffed - but the customer service was exceptional and turned it around. Had a second meal here and it was great - food and wine were perfect. I prefer it for the bar downstairs rather than the restaurant as tables are too close together for me with no privacy, but nice spot.
The food here is pretty good but it is overpriced for what you get, even considering the West End location.
Such an amazing experience!
Had a selection of delicious meat and vegetarian dishes which we absolutely loved! The dessert platter was just the cherry on top!
Very bubbly vibe and lovely team! Thank you Alessia and Cristina for making this night out special!
We will definitely come back as soon as this will be possible!
Delicioso, one word says it all, still your palate needs to experience it
Lovely bar and food is great.
Outside area used to be much better. The best In soho in-fact with its great heating. Seems to change annually so hopefully it goes back to the seating where more people can fit on one table.
:-)
Some pretty amazing food here. It's going to cost you a pretty penny, but it will be worth it.
Really enjoyed a night out here with fantastic good, great service and fun atmosphere. Expensive as you would expect for a classy high end restaurant in this area, but it delivered!
Really reccoment this restaurant , the food was amazing and the desert was event better . there was a really great vibe there on Friday night around 8/9pm its a nice place to go if you want to dress up and have a nice dinner with cool music.
A instagrammable Asian fusion restaurant in the heart of Soho. The food is great and the menu extensive, with plenty of options to choose from, catering for everyone. The only reason I rate it 4 star and not 5 star is mostly for the More
Still good but the quality of the food has gone done hill over the past year
Very good. Mix between ping pong and nobu. I enjoyed it, but felt it was too pricey considering the small portions. We got the black cod, baby chicken with coriander and the lamb chops. All excellent.
I've had a vegetarian tasting menu and I quite like it. I accompanied it with some primitivo red wine. Portion we're pretty small. The place is nice and staff is nice too. I wouldn't go again for the tasting menu but I'd like to go again and try something different.
One of the more enjoyable Japanese fusion. Try the shrimp gyoza. Excellent service- there when you need then and otherwise not noticable. Knowledgeable staff about their food. Shout out to Ignacio our server. Smaller portions so order a few and share. Excellent Japanese scotches but Sake selection sadly lacking. Pricey but central London. Suggest reservations as it was quite crowded
Impressive food and concept. Menu executed well (beef main and prawn spring rolls). Although let down by a number of things I would like to highlight. Lack of cleanliness of toilet on a Thursday night. also we were sat very close to another table of two (about 1 feet distance) - one man decided to take off his shoes and socks next to me, cross his legs so his foot was pointed towards me and started rubbing his toes next to me while we were having our meal. Very unimpressed by this etiquette for place like this and tainted my experience although I turned away and tried to ignore it - I wonder if any of the waiters noticed, because i would have appreciated if someone told him to put his feet away. Kind and hardworking waiter Remus, however slow service given lack of staff to number of tables
We were quickly seated and order taken soon after. Food and drinks appeared quickly and were excellent quality, tasty and large portions.
Great food a bit pricey Peruvian Japanese mix works well.
Really nice food and nice atmosphere. We went to Chotto Matte before the theater since it is so close by. While the food was really good, three stars down because 1. we had called before hand to ask if it was possible to eat gluten free (due to allergy) and when we arrived the manager told us they could not guarantee any dish would be gluten free and that eating was at our risk. 2. we arrived 1 hour and 30 mins before we had to leave and they told us there was more than sufficient time to try the degustation menu. After several reminders that we were running out of time to the staff, I had to eat 3 dishes in 5 minutes.
This was compensated by the friendliness of the staff and the manager who offer to exclude our drinks from the bill.
So bottom-line: our overall experience was not great. I don't recommend it to anyone that needs to eat gluten free or without sufficient time. Otherwise a nice place with nice food.
Weekend service was bit slow, but overall nice place to chill for brunch
Food is really good, music a bit too loud and service could be improved
Trendy bar with delicious fusion cuisine. The cocktails are very recommandable as well.
Very cool and very tasty. Dishes to share a little Asian / Spanish mixture. Nice frame, nice service.
Really nice interesting fusion menu in the heart of london! They have round tables that can accommodate larger groups and can be good for socials! The bar is great and both drinks and food are all delicious. But a bit overpriced to be honest
It s never enough when I come here. We usually go every two weeks and start by ordering a pisco sour. Highly recommend it! Ceviche and sushi is amazing, as well as their desserts... every I ve tried in this restaurant is really yummy and tasty. My fav is beef tataki and the brownie with ice cream
Went on a Saturday night. Great vibe very busy, staff very helpful and friendly. Food and drinks were great. Fab menu. Japanese fusion and sushi plenty of choice. Great vibe will definitely visit again. Toilets worth a visit too
Had the most amazing meal and Katerina was excellent and made the night so enjoyable x
A high-class sushi restaurant is deliciously delicious
Great pre-theater deal, otherwise probably a bit overpriced, but great food
The food is very nice here but the value isn't there. At these prices you can get a meal in a Michelin star restaurant. We ordered the chef's tasting menu and we're told the chef would help us pick and come out half way to see what we wanted for the rest of the evening. A person came out at the start and asked us what we would like (as a normal waiter would do) and then told us what he'd recommend and that was it. No idea why there's a higher charge for this as it seems like a waiters job (in most other restaurants) to recommend food based on what you like. The food was good but for the price you pay I'd take your money elsewhere
Just fantastic. Delicious food beautyful place very kind staff and nice ambiance
Had a great experience and meal here. The spicy tuna roll sushi was the highlight of many great dishes.
Aside from the food, the waiter who served us looked uncannily like the lead from Years and Years. I asked him to sing some lyrics from their songs, he said he would learn some in his break and return to serenade us. Great attitude. The toilets were very trippy in a positive way. I felt like I was in a psychedelic trance club in Berlin.
The only slight criticism was that the wasabi was not spicy enough to use in a "how much spice can you handle" competition.
Too expensive for what it offers, food is tasty though
Always an excellent choice. Not too expensive, very good quality food and a great ambience. It is a great fusion Restaurant!
Service is always good and attentive. On this occasion the waiters made a mistake, but remediated immediately and apologized straight away.
Food out of the kitchen is normally well timed, but can sometimes take a bit long. Specially during busy periods.
My person favorites are the seabass ceviche, the dragon roll and the spicy tuna roll.
