The Chocosol team is very passionate about what they do and it shows in every step. I highly recommend the tour for anyone interested in chocolate and/or ethical and sustainable business models. The tasting exceeded my expectations- it included a savory mole dish and many varieties of chocolate. I'm still dreaming of the hot jaguar chocolate! The best part was learning about how they give back to the community and the process they undertook to improve the environmental impact of their packaging.

Best chocolate ever ! I don't know enough about the why of chocolate but for me it is the texture of the chocolate of all varieties ... great stuff (and you can also buy it at Fiesta Farms).
Service, altho strictly fromt-door, is gracious and engaging. She took her time with us, explaining the different chocolate bars, with samples as we were educated. Darkness, is by far my favourite of the bars sampled. Well worth a trip to indulge!!
This is the most ethically source Chocolate store in town. Great people who care about the impact of our global community. Thank you for making amazing chocolate with a conscience. Proud supporter:)
Impressed. They import whole cacao beans and make delicious chocolate with ingredients you can feel great about. Apparently I left a review previously. I just want to say how much I love the Jaguar Swirl. Amazing.
Just did a tasting tour here - LOVED IT. Exceeded our expectations. Such a wonderful, positive space. Very informative and everything we tasted was delicious! Many samples - we were spoiled! Working on amazing projects as well
The one star is not a reflection of the brand, it's only for today's interaction. I love Chocosol! One of the best chocolate that I have ever tasted even when comparing with authentic European chocolate. Evergreen or St. Lawrence Market are the usual spots for our family, not only to make our grocery shoppings, but also make the mandatory visit to the Chocosol stand. This morning, for the first time I went earlier than usual to St. Lawrence market, before 6:30am, specifically to get some chocolate, and when I saw the stand empty, I asked around and was told by other vendors that Chocosol staff normally here by this time however they thought because one of the highway was closed, perhaps they are a bit late. So I did a tour around the market and came back around 6:40ish and they were there; a guy who I knew from before as I m a regular customer, a very nice guy and a lady who I had seen before but today she was not pleasant to say the least. I was super happy to see them so I opened the conversation with oh you guys are finally here , just to show my excitement. For some reason, I found the lady quite defensive, saying we are always here around this time, perhaps toady later than usual and . ; she was very cold, not making eye contacts, going back and forth and her lack of proper customer service was quite evident. Luckily, the gentleman was helping me out and was very kind and personable. while he was helping me out, the lady was going around and saying this is 10 dollars this is 10 dollars I know Michael and Mathieu and they are very generous and they always come with a deal esp. when a customer is a loyal one and a frequent buyer but nope not this time. I drove 40 minutes to buy chocolate and not attitude. This is not an interaction that a customer would need to be subjected to. I hope either Michael or Mathieu address this. You have an extremely amazing brand and amazing staff, however, such poor behaviour of a staff can hurt the brand and loyal customers such as myself and my family.
Came here for the taste+tour experience and I fell in love with this company! Vegan friendly cacao chocolate that is ethically sourced, sustainable, and eco-friendly. You can tell there is a lot of care and effort but into the products. Matthew, the host of the event, has worked with the Indigenous communities in South America that the cacao is sourced from. He has worked with ChocoSol for over 10 years. He is very knowledgeable and entertaining at the same time. I learned a lot of new things. I would highly recommend to check this place out or try the taste+tour experience. We also got to take the pieces of chocolate home if we didn't finish our tasting trays. Modern day chocolate is so disconnected from its traditional roots as the "food of the gods". This company is trying to bring back that mentality. This is what true chocolate is, not the dollar store KitKat, Hershey bars, etc.
some of the best chocolate and customer service around. And as long as I can resist having only a couple squares as a treat, it's totally Keto friendly. If you have haven't tried Jaguar, you don't even understand the other side of cacao...
Honestly... 7+ years vegan, chocoholic... and this is the BEST chocolate I've had. I am so addicted. And bonus: I can now buy it bulk at my local bulk food store!
Outstanding chocolate from a group with a heart of gold and passion without measure. If you even remotely like chocolate you owe it to yourself to come and check this place out, they have lovely chocolate tour and tasting every Friday night, and a selection that's sure to please anyone. Will be back soon.
Was very disappointed. The bar we specifically went to purchase (Jaguar Swirl) was sold out. They said it was very popular! We asked when it would be back in stock, and the woman said, 'they only make it occasionally'. This makes no sense. If it's so popular, why would it only be made "occasionally"? Won't bother visiting again.
I really enjoy their coffee and chocolate . When I go in I always get the Coffee + Chocolate deal for 20$ and I thoroughly enjoy both my products. I liked the sea salt and vanilla bean chocolate. The coffee is the best as well
I went in today and was greeted by the delicious aroma of coffee beans and dark chocolate, it felt like heaven for sinners. The owner happened to be there and he was the happiest go lucky man I've ever seen; he danced wonderfully. There must be something in the cacao...
Saw their chocolate bars at The Saks Food Hall in The Bay and been buying it ever since. It s a bit pricey for $10 a bar but you can taste the quality. For some people who said it taste bland, you have to stop eating those regular high in sugar chocolates to reset your mouth pallet. After buying my 2nd bar I could taste the flavours more.
Check out this place! Everything was sooo deliciousss. Great and welcoming staff. I am glad that we are able to attend the Chocolate tasting and tour. Thank you!
I went to their chocolate tasting & tour last week and had a lovely time! The staff is so kind, so passionate, and so knowledgeable of their craft. I had the pleasure of visiting on the summer solstice and the energy in the space was so bright and positive. As someone who really cares about responsible, environmentally conscious, and ethical businesses, I was thrilled to learn that ChocoSol deeply cares about this too. I loved learning about the amazing work ChocoSol does at each step in their entire supply chain and this was presented clearly throughout the tour. The care and passion the ChocoSol team puts into their work shows - their chocolate is SO DARN GOOD. I would 100% recommend the tour and the chocolate to anyone! :) Thanks again!
Oh my goodness these are the greatest chocolates ever!!! Their albino cacao is the best tasting chocolate I've ever had. Not too sweet, and I could eat an entire bar without feeling awful! Nice work ChocoSol!
Had my first tamale today at Evergreen Brickworks farmer's market. Staff explained the very awesome and labour intensive process behind the tamale. The best vegan food I have ever eaten, delicious and beautiful.
Hands down THE BEST CHOCOLATE & COFFEE in TO. Their prices are really good and the flavour of everything is just fenomenal. Its my go to place for whenever I need to restock on a good chocolate/coffee. <3
I ordered online and I love everything I've tried so far. I care about putting where my money counts so I love that they use sustainably grown ingredients.
Great humans making great chocolate! Bean-to-bar, ethically sourced, and delicious. My favourites are the 5-Chili Bullet, Kakai + Cacao, and Mon Cherry D'Amour.
We had an excellent experience today at ChocoSol booth at the St Jacobs farmers market. The vendors were extremely kind and engaging, and my kids enjoyed chatting with them. We tried a sample of the sea salt vanilla chocolate, and it was delicious. Both of my older children raved about it, so we were happy to purchase a few bars. It was great to support nice people who sell delicious products.
Just enjoyed some hot drinking cacao with Ben at the St Jacobs Farmers Market! What a great find! We had not had good drinking cacao since traveling through South America. Be it raw cacao, bars, or drinking chocolate, this guy will help you get your cacao buzz on!
Christie was so knowledgeable and friendly, and took out all the anxiety I usually have around shopping for new things. She even gift-wrapped my bars!
The chocolate is different in texture and flavour than anything I'm used to, and it's so interesting. I also got a mocha, which was lovely. I definitely plan on a return visit.
Excellent chocolate if you get a good batch. I've got a couple of bad ones, I called them to let them know, and they never called back. So while the product can be good sometimes, customer service was terrible.
Best (vegan) chocolate ever! And it's local too, so I feel better about supporting them, even after all they do too. Tried the Oaxacan drinking chocolate the last time I was there and it was heaven! I am in love with the drinking chocolate! My favourite chocolate bar would have to be the cherry vanilla or the jaguar swirl. Small and cozy little shop, selling the best chocolate goodies. Friendly staff and delicious treats, what more could you want?
Best and purest chocolate in town. Is a non profit organization with lots of volunteers. Their chocolate is fair trade, Artisan and Vegan. They have as well a very rare chocolate made with albino cacao (you probably never new even existed). Highly recommend you try their amazing products
LOVE the varieties - vegan & dairy free, this chocolate tastes amazing. The Coffee Crunch and Jaguar (albino cacao beans!) I would especially recommend. Their beautifully packed bars also make excellent gifts.
Friendly staff, fun samples and good product. The actual retail space was full of boxes when I came which detracted from the space. Generally a really cool place!
Just AMAZING! Modesty aside, I am quite of chocolate connoisseur and come from one of the countries with the best cacao in the world. This is one of the best chocolaterias in Toronto and you must try their white bean cacao chocolate for an out of this world experience. They also have extremely good cacao powder and food. In a word, a must-go!
The best! I highly recommend their workshops. See, taste, and appreciate the wonderful flavours and take on their Earth-loving and abundant philosophy behind their work.
I'm not a massive chocolate fan, but Chocosol Traders has my all time favourite chocolate. If I eat chocolate it's dark, and being a coconut fanatic they combined a match made in heaven. I love how this chocolate has very little ingredients with no secrets. Their chocolate is a must try if you are a chocolate fan.
Signed up for a 2-hour workshop. Informative, sweet and savoury tasting plus a little hands on fun. An enjoyable experience learning about chocolate and how it is processed.
A wonderful local stop for getting your daily cup of (sustainably sourced) coffee and chocolate. Staff are friendly, and knowledgeable. If you ask, staff will tell you what the daily sample chocolate bars are at the front desk. Give it a taste; it's a great way to find out what you like and don't like without having to buy whole bars. Also, they're known for roasting their own coffee beans, as well as sourcing other local shops' coffee beans, which is pretty awesome! Their coffee isn't too dark or light, which is great for all black coffee drinkers. Some places don't accept your coffee mugs, but not at Chocosol's. You can fill up your coffee mug for just a quarter more, which is very reasonable. I highly recommend this local treasure!
This place is exactly what a local business should be, really proud that they're from Toronto and so glad to support them. They have great prices and really high quality chocolates and related products like cacao beans and coconut oil. I would contend that this is the best chocolate you can get in Canada when it comes to taste and purity of ingredients, most definitely in Toronto and Ontario at least.
I highly recommend Chocosol, in fact, I only buy chocolate from Chocosol! Their chocolate is made without common allergens (dairy-free, nut-free and gluten-free) and their chocolate is between 65%-100%. Their chocolate not only tastes amazing, but is made sustainably (socially and ecologically) which is a huge contributing factor for me.
They work directly with the farmers, they pay the farmers more than what is considered fair-trade, they source what they can locally, they transport the raw materials via trains, trucks and boats instead of planes, they use biodegradable packaging and plant-based printing, they strongly encourage bringing your own containers to their shop/farmer's markets AND they create & support regenerative food forests - which is huge!!!
For those who are allergic to nuts, they grow an albino cacao which they call Jaguar and it is so creamy with nutty undertones. I highly recommend the Jaguar Pure or Jaguar Swirl (combination of albino cacao and red cacao). I also highly recommend the powerhouse Alegria (popped amaranth, pumpkin seeds, cranberries and cacao nibs). Check out their website or storefront, they have something for everyone!!
Last but not least, everyone that I have met from the Chocosol team is eager to share their knowledge and passion for what they do. Heck, I tell everyone about Chocosol and I don't even work for the company!
ChocoSol deserves more than five stars. Absolute perfection in everything made here. We did a tasting tour, and got to try loads of mind-boggling chocolates, from the roasted cacao bean with fruity, red wine notes, to 100% pure chocolate, to insanely beautiful jaguar chocolate. Our tour guide was exceptionally knowledgable and her coworker treated us to some amazing experimental infused hot chocolates throughout our tour. This was an experience I will remember forever. The earth is such a magical, fruitful place and ChocoSol does such a remarkably poetic and honest way of showcasing that.
One of the best chocolate stores that I had the pleasure of tasting! I love seeing them at different events and markets around Toronto/GTA. I always leave with a few of their amazing products. Highly recommend this business and they are hard working and put out great products for everyone.
Nice people, good product, so why is it always a disappointing experience? Clearly you do not need my business, still, best wishes, i believe in what your doing.
The most incredible, pure chocolate, very friendly staff and an ethical business. We have been supporters for years and will continue to be for a very long time.
I highly recommend this chocolate store! They have high quality organic fair trade chocolates and some exceptional rare food items like jaguar chocolate beans!
