The worst hotel I ever stayed in Australia (I travel a lot). Even outdated hotels in Canberra are way better. Amenities are old, poor soundproofing. Be prepared to be waked up at night by somebody opening/closing doors, or noise from the outside. Free WiFi is very slow to the point you will realise it is unusable. Morning breakfast option is affordable ($11 pp or $5 kids), but you find no egg/meat option. Coming to breakfast late (8AM) and find most plates empty (no food).
Amongst other surprises - we checked - dried urine spots on the toilet seats was the biggest one.

Hugely Disappointing. Car park partially closed, had to park in an unsecured area by the model next door. Customer lift not working, had to walk through the kitchen to use the service lift. Room was dirty with paper thin doors to the adjoining room. Could hear next door's conversation. The place is tired and in dire need of a thorough renovation from top to bottom.

We had a king room, large sized room with king bed. City view is nice. Very friendly staff, car parking included out the back so handy for country travelers. Nice sized bathroom and all in all very clean and tidy. Only real issue is it can be a bit loud with corridor noise easy to hear and can hear muffled talking and TV from adjoining rooms. Only 1 minute walk to free city tram so location is great. I have stayed here before and would probably stay again. It's a cheap reliable hotel in the cbd.

Room was VERY outdated. Cracks in walls, old stained carpets, duct tape holding the air con unit remote together, TV remote missing, fittings coming off walls, wireless kept dropping out. This place could be nice but it needs a fully blown renovation to bring it up to standard. Definitely not worth the $175 a night price tag.

Only saving grace were the staff - very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was comfortable enough but the lift was broken. If returning to Adelaide I would try and book closer to the North side because that s where we spend most of our time eating and shopping.

I have stayed here off and on over the last 3 years, the new policy of taking $100 bond out of my account on top of the room cost is the last straw for me. I won t be back . Working FIFO out of Adeilade it was so convenient but this it too far. Cheers for ruining a good thing

A nightmare to get through to one reception staff member that I had a booking, nearly walked out because I couldn't get through to her.

Could not get into the room til 2.30 finally Car parking is huge problem. Do not take your car out at night because you will not be able to get a park again.

Must say that the rooms are great. But some reception staff need better people skills.

this was a business trip and was booked on my behalf by a travel consultant.
Broken powerpoint in bathroom, mould on corners of shower screen, i guess a previous guests hair stuck to roof in shower. The breakfast that was paid for was denied on entry to breakfast area because the lady said it wasnt paid for and she was too busy to look in to it. the guy who answered the phone when i rang to confirm my booking was extremely rude. on a positive note the gentleman who greeted me on arrival was very nice.

Had a lovely stay at Chifley hotel rooms were nice and big and clean the only thing that was a bit disappointing was there wasn't much parking for the people in the motel would highly recommended

The reception staff whose name was Rodney or Robbie(hopefully I spelled his name right) was unprofessional and impatient. Customer confused by the different phone number of Sage hotel and Chifley on South Terrace which was a normal issue. Impatience would not help at all except your unprofessional.

Like a lot of places in Adelaide this place is old. Had lots of issues with our room from barely working A/C and shower (zero pressure) to small bathroom and tiny beds; they are not Queen.

Location great but anywhere in Adelaide would be given its small size. No info in room about hotel facilities or even how to dial front desk.

We found our room clean and the pool nice. Open from 6am to 9pm.

Very slow to checkin and reception could be friendly. Staff cleaning rooms were very nice tho.

I wouldn t go back but wouldn t be the end of the world if this is where you end up.

My experience if this place .I felt quite expensive../ 1. For the service when ironing my lights went out and iron caput. Around 10.30pm.. I had to go downstairs and organize the receptionist to come up and have a look. 3. Was only given a business card 're the chifley then..so b4 I had no idea of even how to ring reception. .Let alone use the phone. 4. No compendium in the room.. 5. The magazine on the table when I went to read it 're restaurant etc . The pages were mostly stuck together . It looked like it had been in water and dried out/disgusting. . Over half the booklet was destroyed. 5. The booklet in the room 're food service was totally also a disgrace and ripped.. . . . . 6. I wasn't sure even how to get the right channels..on the t.v.. I had to get reception to show me.. to me all this is a disgrace . . For the $ charged. 7. When I ordered food for the evening. They 4 got the salad. CUSTOMER SERVICE A DISGRACE . I PERSONALLY Stay A lot in hotels and this by far was appaulling. .

I booked on line and I have to say its nothing like the pictures!! this Hotel is rundown, in need of repair, the rooms are big but very out dated!
the remote for the TV was broken, the water bottles in mini bar was opened and also frozen, I ordered room service on Friday night and the plates were still out side my room when i checked out on Sunday, I asked for my room to be made on Saturday while is was away, all i got was my bed made (which was nice) but i expected the room to be cleaned and fresh towels supplied. If your looking for some where to just sleep at i guess its ok but not for the money, if your wanting more don't stay here!

Apart from one lady at reception, the other staff were underwhelming. The guy in the evening didn't even look up when we left for dinner or returned. The woman at breakfast was just down right miserable - not the kind of person you want to meet first thing in the morning. The rooms were dated and the bathroom was a bit sad, but otherwise the decor was clean and tidy.

The rooms were nice & big,WiFi was slow & breakfast was bad not up to standards. It s a nice location so far,you can get to the downtown Adelaide by tram,as there s a tram station close to the hotel. A very nice, calm, quiet & a peaceful area where the hotel is located....

good location close to public transport shopping & dining, service is good but I think the whole motel needs a total upgrade as it's a bit dated, having said that, the rooms are clean & tidy

They don't have wifi...seriously...the front desk tells you to go to their sister hotel up the street that does in the lobby for free.
Otherwise, it's a hotel near the CbD of Adelaide. Nothing really stands out, nothing went horribly wrong, it's...a hotel. Rooms are tidy but in need to refurbishment pretty badly (worn out and showing signs of impending failure), bed was comfy, lights and fridge worked when you wanted them too. Again, nothing unique, nothing special, but still no wifi. Just highly overpriced considering the crappy hotel next door even has wifi...

Very poor internet. Or i should say no Internet. Poor service and some of the staff have a stick up there, i wouldn't be surprised if they play with the internet connection themselves and blame it on the Company Overseas!

Room was good. Car park was a bit touch and go. Lucky to get a park one night as it was full. Disappointed as some services like shuttle bus not running and cafe not open all the time due to it being school holidays. They should list these changes so at least you know what to expect.
