This park is like walking through a dream with all of its many quirks and fun spaces with sculptures and oddities. This park also holds special meaning for me as it is one of the 1st places my future husband and I fell in love. Love this place and they also recently made some renovations that include a new bridge to the beach and walk path. Can't wait to go back and make more memories.

I've taken a date and I've walked the Burnham Park with my goddaughter. .. I've even gone for work events. This is a beautiful place and worth checking out. Don't plan to spend a full day unless you plan to enjoy a book while sitting in the outdoor garden. Otherwise, I'd say it's about 60 minutes to casually walk through the entire place.

I drive through here on my way home from work ...the sky behind the Church sometimes has a amazing backdrop that always catches my eye...the old Ore walls from the Steel Mill never fail to spark my imagination, and the drive is always a treat.. There's a public park dedicated to Steelworkers right nextdoor and I met a local guy named Matt who lives across the street...he's a artist of sorts and invited me to see his chair installation in his front yard. He told me the whole area was knicknammed " The Bush" and turned me on to the abandoned Veladrome further south...I'm always fascinated by the huge ships docked just a little farther south by the Bridge and stop frequently to watch them load/Unload , or when their "Minders" slowly guiding them into position.. It's a pain when one moves out and the bridge goes up, but I still get excited watching the graceful, almost silent, movement of the mechanisms that make them work...as I get under the Skyway ( F.U. Rahmster) and worm thru Cal City I always love seeing the Patton Tank memorial across from the giant ship anchor sitting in the yard ..all this makes the ride a whole lot more enjoyable than sitting stuck in traffic on the Ryan for a hour...

Rode my bike all the way down from the north side. It was fun and this park is where I stopped caught my breath and turned around. I was amazed and relieved to find it virtually empty compared to all of the other beach fronts. I highly recommend going the distance to this spot to beat the crowd and enjoy the lake!

Chicago loop tourist must see. Family friendly, easy public transportation, much to see and free. Put it in your list of you are from out of town and add the Millennium park right nearby too. All free.

Awesome. Field Museum and Aquarium are awesome. I suggest you get City Pass if your staying for the day or two. Its good up to a week if you don't cover all to see in a day or two and you get to pick options of more than one or two places for a big savings. Plus you don't wait in lines. Great area to site see as well and walk along the Potamic river.

Large park with good views of the Chicago skyline. This is a relaxing place to have a picnic and take a break for an hour or two while still being near many of Chicago's great attractions such as the Field Museum.

I have had the extreme pleasure of riding the southern part of the bike trail 3-4 times a week this summer. The Burnham Centennial Prairie has been an astounding display of color and beauty! I have especially enjoyed the wild flower grouping between the 31st beach and the 35th st bridge (opposite the basketball courts) and the rolling hills of purple between the path and Lake Shore Drive. Thank you for all your hard work and planning to make this such a breathtaking spot!

A bit out of the way for me but totally worth the trip. Took the bikes out to Portage Park and found one of the nicer parks in the city. Complete with boxing gym, softball fields and a nature garden, Portage Park is gorgeous, and on a nice day it's hard to match. The dog park is a fun sight or you can roam around and watch teenagers and eastern European couples neck like nobody's watching. (Hint: They *are* watching.)
