Chevys Fresh Mexican Rest Reviews

Came to this place expecting good Mexican food and the tortillas I remembered being really good, but I ended up waiting an hour an a half before I got my appetizer soup and tortillas. Horrible experience I don t recommend anyone to come here unless you plan on leaving this place full of regret.

So disappointed with this place now. Came to watch the warriors play in the semifinals before the finals and the restaurant left the music playing we couldn't even hear the audio of the game, I mean these are the semifinals; I don't believe I want to go if they're going to keep the music playing some of us like to hear the commentators and get the whole game experience. Not only that we were totally ignored by the waiters. Our table was a mess, dishes everywhere they never bus the table, I understand they're busy but they need to get their stuff together, seriously!!!

it's not as good as it was 12 years ago, but the pina colada still my favorite.

Nothing personal with Chevy's I just get sjck everyyime I eat there but not a fan of Mexican food

Worse dining experience of my life! They brought 1 meal to the table and took an additional 1:15 minutes to bring the other 2 meals ordered. This all occurred while we watched countless other dinners get their meals that came after us.

Still the best place to go by the Bay if it was open for sit down at the resturant.

The food was great! Just did not like paying 3% to eat it! Really? all folks may do is,subtract from tip!

Great food. Quick fast service. The location was great. Small parking lot, but right on the bay. You can literally walk by the water after a great meal.

Ate here almost 10 years ago. Service was amazing and the food was delicious.

Outside dining due to covid, 1 hour wait, people frustrated on a wait list, even the bald manager has a rude attitude toward people asking questions he's not professional at all, reservations on open table app recommended, waiters take too long to bring your cold food, plate, etc. even you let your server know you need your bill to pay they forget about that too, not like the great service you used to get from back in the day. be ready to wait a long time here at the Emeryville location.

Waiter was not warm or pleasant. Menu needs more versatility. No herb teas

Food is very meh and it's too expensive. Plates are like 5-7 dollars too much. Girlfriend and I want there for dinner and are not going back. The food isn't good enough. Would not recommend.

Cafeteria like atmosphere. The food was under par, the worst I have encountered so far in the Mexican restaurant world. The fajitas must have sat on the grill for an hour, bone dry. And..."we are out of guacamole". This is the first time I am writing a review which a story...

A little pricey but it beats Taco Bell, and amazing food!

Nice location but too loud in the restaurant and we had the worst waitress ever. Seriously.

Waited for 10 minutes standing at the bar for it to be cleaned off so I could it down just to watch staff walk by and not acknowledge me. Worst care for the client ever. Lots of tables open but still 45 min to 1 hour wait to get in. When I asked to have the area cleaned so I could sit down by 3 separate individuals I was told it s the bartender that takes care of this area. She was running around trying to get peoples drinks out and had no help with the bar area. I don t recommend this chevy s if you want quality and service.

Delicious food!! Good views. Only one issue, an entree from one of our group had to be substituted because they ran out of the item, but they did not check to see what options he wanted, they just brought it out. He was okay with it and everything else was great.

The only friendly staff was the hostess. Our waiter was rude and screaming at us to the point we had to switch tables. They made us wait an hour to take our order and another hour for food. Never again. Chevys has gone down the drain. Not good like it use to be . Both food and service

Love the food and that this location sits on the water.

This place was out of control. Super busy for a Sunday night. The waitress was pretty good. She did say that things were backed up in the kitchen. I'm hoping that the manager was helping in the kitchen. I didn't see him/her helping seat people,, or doing whatever needed to be done to help the staff.

It's a pretty fun place, especially on Friday nights where they have a DJ and play 90's music. The carnitas fajitas are always a hit. Surprisingly, the St Patty's Day Margaritas with Midori were tasty.

It took us a long time to just get our check to leave, told my husband that explains why we had to wait so long. Victor looked better with a smile at least once.

I love this place. Great, fresh food at good prices and friendly service. I ate the fried chicken blue plate and I was full after only eating half. Great atmosphere and friendly wait staff are a plus.

Good Mexican food. Love their corn meal tomatillo and their fresh-made tortillas are wonderful.

My husband and I like to come here on lunch dates. We usually get one of their lunch specials and they're always delicious. The great thing about their lunch specials are the prices. They are about half as much as they are at dinner time and just the right amount of food. I like to get the sizzling fajitas. They bring it to your table and you can smell it on its way. And it's still cooking when it gets to your table. Comes with some fresh tortillas made in house. And we can never get enough of the warm tortilla chips and salsa.

Worst experience ever I recommend to everyone stay away. I even tried it after seeing these reviews to see if anything changed.... No horrible service and lack of common sense... Never going here ever EVER again!!!!!!

Worst experience. We were told to wait 40 minutes for our table, no problem. After 1 hour we asked politely how long it will take. We were told that still 7 people are ahead of us and that we still need to wait, when we got there it's been 12. So another hour of wait, no sorry, no politeness. Worst service! Dont go there

Wonderful location by the water!! The bathroom was clean! Fireplace! My food taste so good, it was very fresh. Price was ok!

Beautiful busy restaurant, we waited 15 minutes to be seated on a Saturday evening not bad, after ordering the food came out on about 15 minutes and the portions were huge, the food was a bit salty and the fajitas were overcooked. Gorgeous views of the bay with a spectacular sunset.

I hate leaving bad reviews for anything. But we came here twice in a week. Our waitress disappeared both times. The 2nd visit our blended margaritas had to be virgin because we tasted nothing. Why do they take so long to check on the guest when the place isn t even busy?! What are they doing? I m the type to leave a very generous tip for even just good service and they blew it both times!

Food was good. Nice place by the water. Waitress was busy but yet resturant wasnt THAT packed. Matbe understaffed.

The food is a'ight but I consistently get pretty poor/inattentive service. The wait staff are definitely busy at times but in many cases I wait +10 minutes after bring seated to order.

Hector is one of the greatest bartenders that you will ever find. He is a classy gentleman his drinks are great and his service is outstanding.

Honestly Ive had better food at a taco stand. My food was ok. The service was fair. However, my view was great. I was fortunate enough to be able to sit right at the window and view the water. I probably won't return.

Sat outside from the bar are. No food service but just ordered it from the bar. It was perfect as didn't need to wait, perfect view of the water and it was peaceful. Careful of the birds if you walk away.

35 minutes. No food. No nachos. And they don't have what I ordered.

Very busy. Too busy. Too packed during a pandemic. Good place but didn't feel like much social distancing was going on except that the customers were seated outside.

Also, I asked for tomatoes but they gave me salsa instead. I know they have Tomatoes in the kitchen. Didn't like the service because of that.
