Needs to provide some sort of entertainment whilst standing in those extremely long queues. Standing for long periods of time ain't no joke for young children.

Far better than I expected - still subject to English weather that American parks don t suffer from, but the rides are great and the whole park was clean and in good condition. Recommended.
Had the most amazing stay with my husband and 4 year old son . The hotel was beautiful . The theme park has lots for all ages . Can t wait to returnn
Son went on a school trip, make sure you check any soft toys that you buy as they left the security tag on. He had a great time on the rides tho!!
We had a good time on our overnight break at the weekend. The staff are working hard with the new restrictions. Temperature checks are done at the gate. Lots of cleaning being done especially in restaurants.
A Merlin passholder Chessington is my local and most visited place and my children love it we often pop in and just look at the animals.
EDIT
The last few experices have been somewhat negative with a cotinulaed lack of thought from the moment guests arrive with the most disorganised car parking arrangements with putting staff members at risk. Some simple signage would solve this and may e who ever is in charge coming out and seeing the chaos.
Then staff members not paying attention, nor being helpful to sarcastic in responses.
The smokehouse which used to be pretty good now seem to be unclean and not ready for guests despite making them wait outside in the rain prior to opening. The new unlimited sides menus seems I'll thought out and can't see how it works smoothly. We decided to leave the park and go elsewhere for the rest of our day. Very disappointed and more than likely won't renew the 4 premium merlinnpasses we have had for many years.
Very poor organisation during busy day like today. Some staff can't be bothered specially tall guy in a membership shop. You know you have problem when people have to wait 50 minutes with fastrack. Great rides.
Me and my 2sons absolutely love chessington such a fun day out for all
Spent more time queuing for rides then anything else and went to get food at 4.30 only to find it all shut.. disappointing for the family payout to enter and get on 3 rides after 60-90 min queues
Lovely for the grandchildren, although due to the long queuing times we weren't able to see everything. Also extremely expensive for food, snacks and drinks - the quality doesn't equate to the prices!
One of the best places ever visited love it their amazing staff the waiting times are ruffly accurate compared to other parks a great choice of theme park for the family
Great day out - even though it was wet we had a great family day out. My son and my niece enjoyed the gentle rides whilst my 12 year old nephews (and husband) enjoyed the more thrilling rides.
Want a family day out? Then Chessington is the place for you! There is a zoo and lots of family friendly rides which aren't very scary. I recommend seeing the gorillas are they are probably the most interesting animals to see here.
Chessington world is for all ages.. there is alot to see and you still will miss more than half of the rides and fun stuff if you have little ones with you so plan wisely and leave early in the morning to spend more time in there.. will visit it again definitely ..
Park and rides are okay.
Zoo enclosures too small for animals.
Staying at hotel is too expensive and not worth your time or money.
Staff are lazy.
Bedrooms in hotel are filthy.
Sevice is unproffessional.
Car parking expensive.
Time wasted for hotel guests as the opening times to the park and check-out from hotel result in long hours of wait, with nothing to do.
Better than I thought it would be. Food good helpful staff. Accessible to facilities and well signposted.
Expensive Tickets, much cheaper if you pre book online. Long queues for virtually all of the rides. But plenty of other things to see and do. A petting zoo and an aquarium for younger kids. Penguins, a Sea lion, Monkeys, and a Tiger .
Excellent day out, great selection for younger children and older children too
Went with the family ! Fantastic ! THE a mask with you as you need it on the rides ...
Shabby, needed a good lick of paint ten years ago. Very few staff around, expensive, bank machines out of order. Just really tired and way over priced.
I imagine the park would have been fantastic pre Covid however, the lack of social distancing and staff not implementing Covid rules easily makes you feel uncomfortable. The park overall needs a bit of TLC. Maybe I'll change my mind when we return next year!
We visited the Zoo on 08 February 2020. Felt like very poorly Managed. Most of the sides were closed and some closed at 3.15 PM. Not worth it.
The best family park in the Southeast for a nice family day out 4 mixed children's ages from 3 to 15
I haven't been here for a few years but believe it would have been a great day fir my grandsons 3rd birthday sadly there was hardly and for him to go on nor his 5 year old brother. Very expensive with hardly nothing to do. Very disappointed.
Superb park with great rides our 6 and 9 year olds loved it with the added excitement of a zoo. Well recommended and better than LEGOLAND Windsor.
Just Brilliant !!! Quite a few changes since we went there last - the Safari was excellent so good only feet away from the giraffes rhinos ad lots of other animals - the Gruffalo Ride was lovely -feeding the Lorakeets was a highlight !!!! Will be going back soon !!
Chose a bad day to visit, queues all day on all rides were over an hour and the vampire was a 2 hour wait! Will return another day hopefully when less busy and enjoy the park more as didn't want to stand in line for over an hour for a 90 second ride. Animals in the park are spread out with big cats, lions and tigers, silver back gorillas. Only draw back with the animal experience is some of the animals are only accessible via a ride and the queues were long
AMAZING! My sisters offered me a weekend there and it was very nice, it's like being inside the Jurassic Park movie! Take your kids, your grandmother, anybody, they will love it and wish for more!
I've had great memorys as a kid here and my children have too. There is no better place to take your little ones if there younger than 10 or 11.
Stay in the hotels if you can, I wish we had that when I was younger
Rides are fun.
Expensive food and drink but no more than to be expected from theme parks.
Avoid during holiday season unless you have fast passes: you will be waiting a long time otherwise.
Has a decent amount of rides though queues can be a long wait, we had a few fast track tickets which made it easier. The zoo is pretty good, the Safari drive was a little short but nice to get up close to some of the animals. The food is a little over priced but hotdogs where at a reasonable cost. Very annoyed the all you can pizza place counted child over 11 as adults and charged full price, so avoid that one. Overall a good day out.
This place was very fun and amazing! I went with my friends and we went on all the rides. It was awesome.
Considering the difficulties it's facing they are doing a good job
Didn't like the way they kept the animals and charged to get out of the car park after paying a huge amount of money to get in
Went to Go Ape with the kids, we all had fun and the staff were friendly and helpful.
You're my favourite zoo in the world! My favourite part of the zoo is the aquarium!
Great park for families. Pleanty of variety in rides. Something for everyone
3 times we was in a queue for a ride when we was told there was a problem with the ride and would have to wait for up too an hour
AMAZING! Spotlessly clean, staff are the friendliest of anywhere I've ever been, awesome place!
Great family fun place. Just a bit long to queue on some rides, but overall a very fun place to be. Probably need 2 days to do justice for what's on offer.
Had a amazing stay and 2 days in the park. The hotel is amazing all the staff will do anything for you at a drop of a hat!!! Definitely recommend!!! Incredible stay xxxx
The park is great, the rides are fun for younger kids, but the facilities are woefully inadequate. You can queue longer for the toilet than some of the rides.
It's okay. In my opinion, there are much better adventure theme parks in England. Tidy selection of rides, massive queues. Didn't feel any magic here though, didn't feel the love. For example, Paulton Park is so well kept with beautiful gardens etc.
Terrible parking, run by literally children. Everything was so poor. Lots of rides shut or broken down (Gruffalo broke down whilst we had been queueing). Very long queue times for th rides that were open, Vampire 140 mins, Room on the Broom 75 mins. Very difficult to exit the car park as no signs and lots of bollards, drivers driving the wrong way etc. Very frustrating for a 5 year old. Animals look sad. Staff disinterested. Main rides shut. Disappointing in the extreme.
Little airport, where You find everything You need. The shops and bars etc. are cheaper than in the larger airports (they don't skin you for abottle of water). Easy access by car. Rental car parking just 50 meters from the main doors. Mainly helpful staff and all kinds of assistance available.
Great place for all ages, some ride's can be a long time waiting but worth it.
Activities for all ages. Very well maintained and lovely staff. Wait time ranges from 10-60 minutes - which is not bad for a busy day.
Really bad weather unable to enjoy the day out looking forward to returning on possible better weather
Well set out park.
Nice staff
Nice place we go each year at least ones . Down side due to the covid the queue were longer even to get in (45min)
Lots to do, many rides for both adults and younger kids, it's a full day of activities, get ready to be exhausted by the days end
Good rides but queue times are very long. Only a few rides got on even when i went for the whole day.
Excellent place to be! Kids love it of all ages. There's something for everyone from varying exciting rides, a petting zoo, many food establishments, games stalls, sealife center and much much more! Adults love it also! Different height restrictions for all rides and no one is left out. Well worth a day trip or 2 or more! Certainly plenty to do and hard to cram it all in one day thats for sure! We come regularly and never get bored! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and love interacting with the children and make a big effort in the way they serve. The food is good too, although pricey in some outlets but mostly there's a few deals to be had. Heard great things about the hotel but yet to visit ourselves. Don't forget to meet the Lions! VIP experience days and visits look fantastic too! Well worth the price!
Me and the family came between Christmas and New year and thoughly enjoyed ourselves
Lots of activities to fill out a day with a young one and on a school day not too many queues.
Good social distancing inforced, queue times average still had a brilliant day but lost a star as no ice cold drinks
Liked the rides not sure about the organisation behind the wait times though. The hotel is lovely, can't fault it, and the surroundings are fine. The problems start when you're in the park. They do need to bring in the Yanks and get their expertise in ACTUALLY running the place. Queues are way too long on busy days and they perhaps need to put more staff on to handle those peeks and get people positioned earlier..... Some nice rides though, even if it does take forever to get on them!!!
There weren't many rides open only one or two outdoor ones
Great rides and was quiet mid-week. Good idea to avoid school holidays. Some attractions geared towards young children, but there are a few very thrilling rides. Food options can improve.
Great for all the family even a 1 year old spent the howl day did not feel like I had anofe time so much to exsperience
Very busy, all rides either reduced capacity due to covid measures or closed, but number of visitors still very high, so every ride queue was over an hour long. Park open for 6 hours but managed 4 rides all day. Not an enjoyable experience.
We didn't have time to actually go into the park so we were only in one of the hotel bars, but that was lovely - very comfortable, with pleasant staff and good coffee, and a view out over the Zufari exhibit.
Lots to do for all the family. I would say that Chessington is the next step up from Legoland with regards to rides. Children just over 1.2 metres will be able to go on almost all of them. Waiting times were reasonable too. Book in advance if you dont have vouchers or passes to save money.
Great place great place for families children s water fountains very clean tidy
Very expensive to be here and inside is cashless u definitely need a debt card
I only remember the queues, we barely y got to ride anything (and we were there for about 6 hours) and even when it was finally our turn, the rides were way too short. Totaly not worth it. Horrible memories
Chessington could be so much better if they didnt keep ripping the customers off. First of all the food and drinks are the worst tasting junk which is so expensive. Def bring your own food. The games you have to pay for are not worth the prizes you will never win. The queues are very long for the good rides with constant queue jumpers. Infact some of the queues have a coffee booth half way to make you part with more money for much needed caffeine or sugar for the kids who are having a crash after 2 hours of waiting.
I have been there years back but this year was a disaster. Did not like the park at all. Doesn't look anything like before, waiting time was very long, the orientation poor...I will not go again.
Lovely place but queues for the rides were very long. Some of them more than 2 hour wait. Happy that it had a lot more for younger children unlike some theme parks. My 8 year old loved it.
Park is generally ok. Lot of queuing even for an off season weekend. Three of the rides are closed so for our age group this meant a third of the rides are out of action. The quality of food is very poor, worst still is the service. More
Great day out, lots to do. Time flys when you're there. Downsides; lots of waiting around to get on rides, and very expensive once you're there, to be expected. One day isn't enough to go on all the rides- I reckon you can do 3 rides max in a day, 2 for sure. But it's still worth the visit.
I had an amazing and wonderful stay in the Chessington resort last summer. I arrived at the resort with my family fairly late in the afternoon; we were all tired and exhausted from a 10-hour flight. We decided to eat lunch first. The staff was very polite and made us feel welcomed right on the spot.
The themes of the resort are very interesting and same for the rooms. We booked a safari themed room and it had a mode giraffe, bunk beds and tree wallpapers. The rooms are very comfy as well. The resort is very convenient - it is right next to the theme park so you can go there whenever you want. The staff was extremely friendly - they were always polite and came when you needed assistance. The resort also serves delicious food, very yummy indeed.
Moreover you can also visit the enclosed zoo from the back of the resort. There is a grass plain where you can see zebras and deer. And if you have children you can bring them to a kid's play area where there are beanbags, toys and movies. The resort is also home to a mini indoor waterpark with water slides and other things. It is very fun. Overall I really liked my stay at Chessington resort.
Family fun - great for children between the ages of 4-9
Great place great rides easy to get a round social distancing and masks
