Making advance reservations here was kind of confusing. We had to book and prepay for the equivalent of 4 persons, even though there are only two of us. The extra money would be applied to more wine. I wanted to secure a spot inside just in case the weather was bad, so I followed the instructions and prepaid. Upon arrival, the host told us we could get a refund for the extra cost, and that was easily done. Seating here was actually outside in a covered patio, and that was fine for the weather today. Although the sun is now hiding behind some clouds, it's not too chilly. We sampled two of the wines, which I'd rate as okay. I was happy to see that small dogs were allowed here. The grounds of the estate are beautiful. There is an inn onsite. I'm thinking it's a beautiful spot for an event. There was a table set up with thermometers, but no one was taking temperatures today. The staff is all protected with masks, and so are we. I was surprised to see Chantel Wines in a can. I understand this is the newest trend in wine. I forgot to buy a can on the way out!
went for a tasting. Many great wines. loved the Chardonnay
Simply beautiful. The views are amazing. We went for the jazz performance, but will definitely be returning for a wine tasting as well as the views!
Loved the wine and the two patios with breath taking views. I really liked how they had different options for tasting. Instead of just having your traditional 6 pours at the counter you could opt for 3 larger pours to take on the patio.
On my honeymoon and Really disappointed with service. Arrived to Chateau and required to immediately pay outside before entering. No options were presented regarding seating, flights or services. Once inside, server told us we had to pay extra to stay inside. Not only were heaters not on, but staff was just as cold and impersonal. Most definitely will not come back here.
Very nice staff and view of the property is beautiful.
Such a spectacular place. Beautiful views of the West and East Bay, a warm and knowledgeable staff, and a wide selection of wine and Brandy, all well priced and high quality. I'd highly recommend a visit!
Visited Chateau Chantal for a wine tasting. They had great service and nice views of the Traverse Bay from the tasting rooms and patios. The wines and ciders were interesting and tasted excellent - everyone in our group liked at least one drink, including those who don't generally drink wine.
Great view and welcoming staff. The wine was great and also not overly priced. We will be back!
I absolutely love visiting Chateau Chantal whenever I am in Traverse City. The picturesque view is breath taking and the tasting room staff is always friendly.
Just came for wine tasting. Friendly staff and great wines! Try their ice wine if you can!
This is an amazing place- not only the views, the wine, the music but more importantly the hospitality!!!
The owner has a dear servant's heart and you are welcomed and treated like family.
Thank you Begins for a wonderful stay.
So disappointed in this place price gouging for a table for a reservation $60.00! Hope you get something they didn't mention it. Normally we spend a few hundred due to this extra 60.00 they now got 0 dollars! I don't pay to get a table to eat dinner at a restaurant .

I can't say enough about Chateau Chantal! The enormous French-inspired facility is not only a winery, but also a bed & breakfast. We have not had the occasion to try the bed & breakfast option, but the winery itself is amazing!
The patio offers 360 degree views of the surrounding vineyards and both East and West Bay. Every wine we've purchased from the extensive selection has been incredible!
This is our "go-to" winery on Old Mission!
The wine tasting was enjoyable, Bill was knowledgeable and entertaining. The wine bar was one of the only venues we attended that we could actually sit in stead of stand. Overall fun and would recommend.
Wine tasting was fun! Great view of the peninsula from the patio!
Great selection of wine, amazing view if peninsula, and attentive staff. Sampling fee goes towards a bottle purchase.
Beautiful views, easy to navigate grounds and wonderful service
My first, but not last time visiting, Pierre at the wine tasting was fantastic and able to answer all questions. Bought multiple bottles
Friendly staff, delicious wine and soft drinks, amazing view, interesting history. Definitely worth visiting.
Favorite wine in the area. Bed and Breakfast for 4 days, 3 nights was amazing. Treated like family and a very home like feel. The breakfast every morning is fantastic. The views are top notch. The rooms are very luxurious. Highly recommend the tour. Again the wines are amazing. Something for everyones taste buds. Will definitely be back, and a vacation we will remember forever. Thanks to everyone at Chateau Chantal!
Great overlook while wine tasting. Nice staff. Enjoyed the experience. Only issue was that the wine was overshadowed by every other winery. Not the best taste. Great views, mediocre wine.
Unbelievable view. Service was slow and wine wasn't that great compared to all other wineries we visited that day.
Stayed here for a weekend. Good God.
Staff was excellent. Rooms were amazing. Wine tasting was fantastic.
Can I rate this place 6 stars?
Great views and very nice staff. Wine selection is huge, but majority of wines are average.
Do NOT pay extra for a reservation, complete waste of money. My wife and I were excited to visit this winery because we made an indoor reservation that cost $60. When we made the reservation we made a comment to the nice young lady about how excited we were to sit inside and not freeze our butts off outside. When we got to the winery on the day of our reservation we were extremely surprised and very disappointed to find that almost every large door in their indoor space was wide open making the inside just as cold as the outside. Not a single heater running inside. We noticed a group of people complained to staff about paying extra to sit inside and how cold it was to watch in amazement as staff promptly asked that group of people to leave. We also heard many other groups of people complain about the conditions for an indoor reservation. Absolutely nothing was said to us at the time of the reservation that the temperature would be the same inside and out and all doors would be open. We paid an extra $20 to sit inside for absolutely no reason. The staff also claimed that the doors had to be open, yet restaurants are allowed to seat to capacity requirements with no windows or doors open. Pretty sure that was BS. Won t be going back!
Amazing winery on historic Old Mission Penninsula. Phenomenal wine and friendly atmosphere.
It smelled good when you walked in. VERY PRETTY VIEW!!!
Had some nice wines, but felt crowded and commercial. Great views!
Wine is alright but the views make up for it. Their patio is huge and has a great views in all directions.
Fabulous dinner. 9 courses served over to hours. Great presentation, great servers. Wine selections served with each course. Most were pretty good. Not the best they have to offer, but ok.
Love this place! Great wine, great view, we would visit this place every year. Wish they had food but they are not able to serve food. They do have a bed and breakfast that serves food. We will for sure return for the dinner and drinks they offer through their b&b.
What a fall Saturday crowd! Luckily we had scheduled a private tour and tasting! Gorgeous location and view. Good wines and a wide range of them.
Beautiful fall view from every side. A little wait for wine tasting, but out on the back deck wine by the glass no wait. Must visit while in Traverse City
Beautiful view. Lots of different wine choices and had something for everybody. Went here with a large group of friends and they all loved it
My wife and I come here every year. Amazing, staff, hospitality and of course wine. It will always be a special place for us and would recommend it to anyone.
(Yes you may use my review. I can t reply to your post so I edited the original)
Loved the wine! Service was a little slow since we had a large group of people. Had to rush through our flights because we were on a deadline on our wine tour
The staff the food the wine the views... All amazing. We went for our anniversary, and plan on going back again for sure.
It was fantastic. The views were great, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff was amazing. I'd highly recommend a visit!
Very beautiful! The wine tasting was informative and fun.
We went to the winery, and it was PACKED. There was so many people, it was hard to get a glass of wine.
Beautiful location excellent views good service and a great selection of wine
Stayed 2 nights and loved it, the service was great and the breakfast was awesome. My wife is gluten free and the chief made everything gluten free and it tasted great.
I don't have much to complain about, I think during the booking process, information wasn't presented very clearly about room options.
Staying there was also very pleasing, except for the whose outside my room that was left on one day and was making a very annoying noise I couldn't sleep until I found out and closed the water whose myself. I don't think they were aware, but the staff was gone so I forgot to inform them on my way out.
Breakfast is perfect as well as the staff, everything was great.
Beautiful place inside and out. Tasting was great, wonderful staff.
Friendly, great views, $5 for 6 tastings, but quite small, cannot really share, overall good place
We visited for a wine tasting. Our pourer (from Argentina) was knowledgeable and friendly. The wine was delicious and the views were spectacular.
Horrible experience here! Went here on a van winery tour and the outside staff were super rude. I ordered a cider and charcuddey tray and never got it. We were here on a time limit and went to tell the bartenders that and they didn't even apologize. They seemed annoyed that we asked for a refund on stuff we never even got. The staff also bad mouthed all of the "van drivers" even though these drivers work their tails off and we couldn't have asked for a sweeter driver. Would NEVER recommend this place!
It's a wonderful location with good service and nice drinks.
Great views from the patio. Could use more patio heaters in the Fall season.
Good views, nice building. No free tastes offered, and wasn't super satisfied with the wines.
View is breathtaking, pictures give no justice. But way too busy. Service a little slow.
Beautiful outdoor seating with tables with umbrellas. Great prices, book it online in advance. I went with a party of 4. Our flights were covered with the 10 dollar a person online reservation. The scenery is breath taking with the hills of grape vines and distant water view. The wine was fantastic. They also have an indoor shop that included sealed food to go with your wine. Easily 5 stars besides a check out clerk who treated my party like children when our ride fell through and we had to wait for another hour. I didn't grab her name, as I try not to name people in these situations however I should have. Our server told us he would get us some more glasses and we were welcome to open a bottle of wine while we waited outside on the patio. The clerk told me that was not allowed but didn't stop there: she wouldn't let me buy a wine opener and a bottle for the hotel because she didn't believe me that we weren't going to drink. She came and took all of our glasses from the tasting and lectured the group to the point where one of my guests told her she had made her point 5 times and it was understood. Really poor way to end things and we did not come back with our cars before the trip home for the bottles of wine we couldn't carry because of it. We sat in the rain without even water and waited for our ride back to the hotel.
Nice, wide open patio. Six tastings for five dollars, and flight of three for ten dollars. We all (group of six plus kiddos - they didn't drink ;) ) got the flights because we could take it outside and the tasting you could not. They have corn hole and a great view of the vineyard and they Easy bay.
This was my first time visiting and the whole experience was wonderful! The wine is amazing, as was out waitress, and the view off of the patio is unbeatable. Looking forward to going back
Not as expensive as you would think for a fancier place!
Beautiful Vinyard with good wines. Definitely recommend stopping in for a tasting.
We went on a wine tasting tour it and all the lines were delicious and staff was helpful
Poor custamor service!!!! The guy at the register ignored us, while he packed a wine order, then we could hardly understand him with the mask. He needed to speak up. Said we needed a reservation even though, literally no one else was around. When he finally acknowledged us, we started the reservation process, then more customers came in. He CLEARLY needed help at the front. There were other workers just standing around at the bar. We finally just left, frustrated and took our money elsewhere. A few details would EASILY have fixed the problem, 1. SPEAK UP!! masks are necessary right now but you need to speak up to be understood. 2. A couple colleagues could've come and helped him, while they waited for people at the bar. 3. He could've acknowledged us when we first walked in. Needs basic courtesy instruction!
