Always a wonderful experience. Attentive staff, amazing wines and beautiful views. Love the history. And if you get a chance to stay at the B&B, do it??

Fantastic winery with a great selection, helpful staff, and a beautiful view.
When 2lads lost our reservation you took the group, I always highly recommend your winery. Thank you.
Good Wine but it was busy and they were rushing us through a tour that we paid alot of money for
Perfect setting for .....well just about everything. Thursday jazz at sunset is lovely. Especially of you sit on the patio to watch the sunset. The music drifts out the large doors but allows you to enjoy conversations with friends over a glass of chardonnay. Does not get better than this!
As we arrived the first thing we noticed was that the parking is actually dangerous since the layout of the lot doesn't include enough spaces. When we went inside the atmosphere was inspiring and the patio is a wonderful place to hang out and take in the gorgeous view. I thought we would be treated to a wonderful tasting experience and while I had one or two wines worth buying the others I tried certainly didn't live to go they're hype. I will now than likely never return.
Went for a wine tasting. Wine was very good, staff was very knowledgeable.
Amazing view. Really great wine selection. Would return in a heartbeat.
A GREAT place to taste wines but go there for the view. "GO THERE"
The view is beautiful, the staff is very kind, and they offer a large selection of wine. However the wine has not left an impression on me. This winery is usually one of the first winery's I come to visit because of the large patio and view it offers. But again, the wine is ok.
Beautiful building with charm. Views are breathtaking. Next trip will have to stay longer
Beautiful property. Large patio. Lots of space. Bartender was knowledge, friendly, and helpful. Competitive pricing. Enjoyed my experience.
Came here for a bachelorette wine tour and had an absolute blast. The wine was delicious and Traverse city was beautiful. I'd highly recommend doing the wine tours and hitting this winery. We've got awesome memories!
The best thing about this place is the views. I should have done the wine tasting in here, but it's difficult to taste all the wine on the peninsula. I wasn't happy with the bottle I had, it was really off putting.
Amazing place, breathtaking views during the summer and winter, they also have and outdoor firepit during the winter season to stay warm. The wine is good, wouldn't say the best I have had tho.
Went for a wine tasting. Wines were great and the service was excellent. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The cherry cider was also delicious. I'll be back for sure!
Great service for the wine tasting and great views all around the location!
Awesome place and great wine selection. You have to stop and sample with Bill! He made this a memorable stop on the write trail - great stories and knowledge. Perfect views. One of the best places to enjoy a glass outdoors.
The staff was not very friendly and very uptight, except for the greeter at the door.
Lovely place with a nice wine selection. We enjoyed live jazz performance on Memorial Day weekend
Great service! Great wine! And a great tour from Bill! We also were given some very good recommendations for things to do in the area. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
Came for wine tasting. It was very busy, but the staff was amazing.
Was there for a wine tasting event. They have the most beautiful location on the peninsula!
Great service. The staff is very knowledgeable about their wine selections.
Good environment, prompt service, get to keep the glass. $5 for 6 tasting which is nice. Large variety of wine. It would be a 5 but the person was a little scattered.
The view itself is worth the visit to the winery. The wines themselves were well made and creative. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly as well.
Great place to sip wine and with an incredible view! in the summer months there is a great jazz concert series on Thursdays.
I went there with a small group on a wine tasting tour. I had an amazing experience at Chateau Chantal.
Great service and wine! Absolutely beautiful view! Easy to find if you follow the signs!
Very nice view and great wine. Definitely would come back but not necessarily my favorite in the pennisula.
Poor service, decent wine, but good views. I ve been here a couple of times, and I ve always had horrible service compared to all the other wineries in the area. Very impersonation and forgettable.
Went with a group of 10 ladies for a wine tasting. Very attentive and knowledgeable staff. Excellent wine and what a beautiful view.
Most iconic views in Northern Michigan! The Pinot Noir and Malbec, sitting on the West Patio watching the sun set was awesome. Make a reservation online as the restrictions for spacing due to CoVid19 are obviously different than years past. Friendly staff and did mention the view oh yeah and the wines are pretty damn amazing too. The wine dinner was icing on the day!!
Wonderful tasting room, excellent wine, and very friendly staff. A beautiful view well enjoy good company.
Me, my husband, my brother in-law and his girlfriend were all in the executive suite and it wasn't what I expected for a suite at all. The t.v was still a tube but if you look in the smaller rooms they have a flat screen. My husband and I had the smaller bedroom in the suite and it had a full not even a queen. Also, it was the hardest bed I ever slept in. I was about to just sleep on the floor but I ended up just laying on a bunch of pillows. The kitchen was amazing and the bathrooms until I seen what the shower head looked like. I didn't even want to take a shower because it looked so gross, like come on just spray some cleaner on there, it isn't hard. Everything looked like my grandmother picked out everything. They could've went for modern country. Just expected more for a room that costs more than the smaller ones and I would've rather had one of those.
We did a wine tour and tasting. Our tour guide was very good, had lots of information to tell us, and make the tour and tasting a fun experience. The wines were all very good and paired with a different type of food.
Always one of my favorite places to visit in Traverse city. Jaw dropping views, excellent staff and delightful wine. A must visit for anyone.
Did their tapas wine tour. It was very fun and informative.
They say they close at 5pm. And by that they mean if you walk in at 4:45pm and ask to buy a bottle of wine to go, they'll say no and ask you to leave.
Edit... Given the positive response by the owner, we'll try again next time we're in town. Hopefully it was just an employee anxious to go home and not thinking about the impression he made.
Went for a tasting and glass of wine on the deck, best wine and view on the Peninsula! Made our 1st wedding anniversary unforgettable.
Chateau Chantal is one of our favorite places to go wine tasting, I've always had quick service and the people are very knowledgeable about the wines and can make great suggestions if you aren't quite sure what you want to try next.
We stopped at three wineries (2 lads, chateau chantel and bowers harbor). Of the three chateau chantel had the tastiest wines but smaller pours than bowers. The view is of course fantastic on the outside. The inside however has gone down hill. I ve been coming to this winery for a decade and on this last visit all the ambiance I remembered on the inside was gone. Somethings were unavoidable, like large shower curtains that need to be hung to protect from Covid, but the amount of fruit flies were disgusting. When my boyfriend and I were checking out merchandise we noted that the clothing was coated in bugs. It was very disappointing to see as this winery has always been TOP for me.
Lots of wine to choose from and all unique. Very nice friendly staff that is very knowledgeable about there selection. Went on a holiday weekend and it was packed!
This winery has the best view I have ever seen. You can get a flight and sit out in the deck stippung delicious wine. The prices are reasonable and many drinks include a glass you can keep.
Had a wonderful stay. Celebrated my 30th anniversary. Breakfast was great and enjoyed the tour of the wine cellar. Great wine.
Beautiful views, but incredibly busy this weekend (probably because of the beautiful weather).
Went here with the intention of doing a wine tasting, but found it to be very crowded at the time. We had unknowingly arrived during happy hour with live music. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by staff and informed that full glasses of wine were only $5 during happy hour and available at the gazebo outside if we were interested. Our plans quickly changed to that, and we enjoyed our wine on the beautiful terrace. They have a lovely location with a breathtaking view of both bays and vineyards on all sides. Highly recommend Chateau Chantal, it is a favorite with more atmosphere than some of the other wineries
Best views on the old mission peninsula. Wine is good, but the tasting area is understaffed.
Came for wine tastings and ended up leaving with a bottle. Great service. Was a bit busy but was expected on a Saturday.
Best view and best wine on the peninsula. Great folks working there too
This is our second time visiting Chateau Chantal. We stayed here a couple years ago on our honeymoon and had an amazing time. The service and breathtaking views at this bed and breakfast are second to none. The B&B is very nice on the inside and out. You won't want to leave when your stay is done...and that's why only 2 years later we are back! It's a 12 hour drive for us to get here but well worth it. The area has breathtaking views and countless wineries to visit and sample. You will find yourself taking home many bottles of wine because this region in Traverse City area of MI, believe it or not, is perfect for growing grapes. We took home over 20 bottles of wine last time. Who knows how many we will take home this time. There are great restaurants here as well and Traverse City is a bit of a foodie area which is a bonus. This is our favorite place, and we will be coming back many times. You should give it a try!
We went for a 20+ person reunion and had a great tasting experience that accommodated our large group without flooding their (gorgeous) tasting room. My only complaint is that it was a little hectic with 2 servers for our group and everyone choosing their own flights, so I'd recommend doing a prepared flight as a group so you can learn more about the wines while you're tasting.
Beautiful views. Wine tasting with a group of friends. Tables to accommodate us. Friendly staff.
We only stayed for wine and dinner but the staff was great and accommodated our every request. Views are gorgeous and the wine is superb. The wine connoisseur Bill was delightful and informative.
This place is great! The staff is super friendly and helpful! The wines are delicious. The flights are the perfect way to discover your palate. Bought some of the cherry salsa and I can't wait to try it!
Gorgeous views of the vineyard on the patio. 10/10 would recommend. 10/10 Will return.
It was my boyfriends birthday and we decided to try a winery for the first time. I enjoyed the view and the establishment but the bartender seemed very rude and impatient with us. Since we ve never been to a winery, and really don t drink wine much, we of course didn t know the process. The bartender was yelling at us, loudly, in front of other customers because apparently we were doing the experience wrong. We wanted to do $1 samples of only a couple of wines and he made us feel like idiots because we didn t do the 6 tastings for $5. We had then asked to get a bottle to go outside, not knowing that the laws did not allow that, and he made sure to announce it aloud so many people could hear our conversation. I would have loved this establishment and gave it a 5 but the service was just rude and unwelcoming. Usually I m very understanding and let things like this go, but this went on for about 30 minutes until we went outside finally. Just a terrible experience for a special occasion and wish we would ve had our first winery experience elsewhere.
We just went to sip some wine. The view was amazing and the service was pretty good too!
Loved this place. In believable views, great atmosphere, nice people.
We really enjoy Chateau Chantal's wine, we were coming back to the winery to get chardonnay for our wedding. We walked in and walked over to look at wine bottles and then walked to the tasting room, not realizing they were trying to direct people with signs the other way until a bar tender waved you over. So we got ignored by all of the bar tenders until they went through a couple other couples, and then finally helped us. We shook it off after we realized we had messed up the system they were trying to follow. However, we love the location so much, we came back today to show my dad the winery after he flew in. We got there at 11:05, 5 minutes after opening, and we were completely ignored. We ended up leaving without tasting because my dad felt so uncomfortable by the way the workers in there seemed to ignore our existence. After that experience, I would have gotten my wine elsewhere if I hadn't already bought it...
We did the tasting here and had a great time. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
It was crazy busy the day we were there, so the group I was with just got glasses of wine instead of doing a tasting. It took at least 20 minutes to get a glass because it seemed like the one person serving that line was more interested in flirting with a group of girls doing a tasting than pouring wine or getting change. But the wine was delicious and the building was beautiful. The views from the patio were spectacular, but I would avoid going there in the late afternoon unless you're okay with a 30 minute wait for a wine tasting or a 20 minute wait for a glass of wine.
One of the older and more well established wineries on the Old Mission Peninsula. Views are amazing from the entire property.
Picked up a bottle of their 2014 pinot noir it was delicious
Love the service, live music and the view over the lake. Large variety of wine and specials
We went for a wine tasting. Service was great. Wine was good and reasonably we were no for tasting. Also got a free glass.
My girlfriend and I did the wine dinner, we both enjoyed it very much. Very nice place with a great staff. Can't wait to go there again!
A delightful meandering drive through the vineyard to the top of the hill where a tasting room and patio with views of both bays awaits. Great way to raise a glass of wine and enjoy fine conversation.
Had a great time experiencing the Quaff and Nosh. Nice pairings, great information about Chateau Chantal .
This is one of my favorite wineries on Old Mission Peninsula. They have great wines and a awesome tasting room. I would highly recommend it.
