Completely helpful and educational experience. Dr Weaver was very knowledgeable and comforting considering I was nervous going into the appointment about what my issue might be. She answered all of my questions ( I asked a lot ) and was very personable and easy to talk to, as were the entire staff. Definitely recommend!

Samatha is the best! Besides providing top notch healthcare to both my wife and I, she has that bedside manner which makes visits virtually stress free and enjoyable.
We never write reviews BUT Dr. Rodriquez is an awesome doctor who is extremely knowledgeable and has provided my husband with one of the best health care appointments we have experienced in quite some time. Knowledgeable, professional with a really great bed side manner as stated by another reviewer. As a self pay client with no health insurance to cover any of our cost Dr. Rodriquez was beyond mindful of keeping our cost low while still providing top notch dermatological service. Highly recommend Dr. Rodriquez, you sir are a credit to your profession and we thank you.
My appointment with Samantha D Alessandro could not have been better! She was prompt, professional and above all, showed a level of care that I have rarely received from some of the so called best dermatologist in Charlotte. She listened to my concerns, was extremely thorough in assessing my particular skin issue, as well as my skin check and gave me more reassurance and ease about my treatment options than I ve had in years. Her assistant Melissa is top notch as well. I would highly recommend without any reservation. Grateful for the experience.
The front office staff could use some morale. Very unpleasant experince with Dr Slaughter. "He honestly had the worst attitude I have ever experienced. You would think that a MD would be able to work better with people. He should consider taking a class on how to interact, and communicate better with patients. I had some concerns about my skin. He was not willing to offer any suggestion for how to improve the issue. He replied he didn't know. He spoke down on me for simply asking questions to simply have a better understanding. He was impatient, and made me feel like I was wasting his time. Meanwhile, it was truly a waste of my time and money. When he left out I told him thank you, he never replied. I asked his nurse if you was frustrated or agitated because that was the reaction I was getting, I just couldn't understand why. Then I heard him outside of the door fussing at his nurse. It was very uncomfortable. I would not return to this practice, or go to any one he suggested. I had been to Charlotte Dermatology before, and was very pleased. The doctor I had was wonderful, but he no longer practice there." I will not be returning.
I have been to this office several times. I would recommend the doctors and medical services provided. I am writing this reviews in regard to their laser hair removal services. I do not reccomend this place for laser hair removal. I thought coming to a doctors office would be the smartest choice for using laser to remove facial hair. I had 13 treatments, 13!!!! With little to no hair reduction. It was excurciatingly painful each treatment as well. I finally gave up and stopped with the treatments. I recently decided to try again at a different facility. After ONE treatment I can already see hair reduction and the treatment barely hurt at all. So just a heads up to anyone looking to get laser hair removal, don t use this facility. Not sure if they were using the wrong laser or what, but it was a huge waste of money and caused serious pain. Not to mention my hair is dark, and I have very light skin tone (perfect candidate for laser hair removal success).
I have seen PA Rodriguez and PA Booth. Both were great and have assisted with ny concerns. Melissa Booth, PA does a wonderful job of explaining the causes, possibilities, and my options. What I really appreciate about her is the fact that she gave me suggestions and listened to my position as well. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate not being rushed visit and the exchange of information to determine a treatment. Again, both of the PAs I have seen were great. Melissa Booth THANK YOU!!
We have seen Dr Altman ever since he joined the practice. He dealt with my very elderly Dad kindly, professionally and with complete devotion. The rest of the family has been to see him also and could not be happier. I do remember a few years ago that some of the support staff were not personable, but my last few visits to the office, for myself or another family member, have been better than fine. I had Moh's surgery from Dr El Gamel a couple of years ago - it was quite extensive, but there is absolutely no scar. Beautiful work!
PA. MOW was great as far as in office but trying to get through and leave a message is so difficult. I was told to call if I had further issues but it's difficult to get in touch. I don't know what problem is but I think someone could possibly help.
It seems like most of the negative reviews on this practice are from several years ago. I've seen Dr. Slaughter for the past several years and would highly recommend him. The office staff has always been professional and courteous.
HORRIBLE office, please avoid at all costs. I have permanent scarring and loss of joint mobility after what was supposed to be a simple, elective procedure. I was left with an open wound that took 3 months to heal despite being a healthy, active 22 year old with no medical problems. Now 9 months later I am still in daily chronic pain with permanent effects on my hand. My life has been permanently changed because of the carelessness of PA Ron Rodriguez, who never even had me sign informed consent until after my procedure was finished (probably when he realized his huge error in my procedure). The administrative staff is rude, cold, and unwilling to help fix this situation. Almost a month's worth of my phone calls and emails went ignored and I have been hung up on multiple times by a receptionist named Jennifer until I filed a complaint with the NC Medical Board against this joke of a practice... then in the middle of corresponding back and forth via email with a manager, Jan, the communication abruptly stopped and now again, all of my efforts at reaching out have been ignored. These people do not think about anything but money and couldn't care less about what they have done to me. I am so disgusted and hurt by the actions of these careless "medical professionals" and I would not wish this experience on anybody. Please, please, please think twice before you come here!
just left office and the check out person was extremely RUDE, if you don't want to give customer service please DO NOT WORK IN THE FIELD. we look for professionals when entering a physicians office. Not what you would expect at a drive-in from a fast food place.
On my first visit to this location to see Dr. Slaughter, I was informed I needed to have multiple biopsies done on my chest and forehead. I was assured that these would be small incisions. I now have a scar roughly the diameter of a dime in both locations. The cut was not small and is indented. I'm not please with the lack of care they took when making these incisions.
My five year old son was a new patient and saw Dr.Slaughter for his first visit. I am a stay at home mom and brought my younger daughter with me. The moment the doctor walked into the room, before even introducing himself to us he asked the nurse to open up the room across the hall for myself and my daughter so that he could concentrate without all the extra noise. I understand how it could be distracting for doctors in general but he didn't even give my daughter a chance. Had she gotten too loud I would have had the common sense to exit on my own, but my daughter was quietly sitting in her stroller. As a parent, I always like to be with my son and the doctor to point out my concerns for the visit. I felt as though I was being punished for having a toddler with me and the doctor was beyond rude. It was a frustrating and belittling experience. Asking a parent to leave their young child alone with a strange doctor because they have a sibling is rude and very unsympathetic. We will not be returning.
Was scheduled for MOHS surgery on the left side of my nose. The surgery was not fully explained including the fact that I would have a skin graft with the skin being taken from the inside of my ear. Not told I would have two wounds to care for or the approximate healing time for the donor or graft site. Would have been very helpful to me to prepare me for the surgery beforehand. In any doctor/patient relationship, it is always important to give the patient all necessary information to better help them prepare & go through the procedure.
I visited Charlotte Dermatology to have a simple, cosmetic procedure done. I had to make an office visit for a checkup since it had been some time during my last visit to a dermatologist. During the checkup, Dr. Slaughter briefly examined me and decided that I needed to have a mole removed for a biopsy. This happened so quickly with very little explanation and absolutely NO consideration for the cost of the biopsy. Of course, I would have agreed to it anyways if it was a health concern , but I would have liked to know ahead of time what the implications would be both financially and for my skin. Now, I have a huge scar where the mole used to be, and I have spent over $400 on this biopsy. The environment very much felt like a dermatology chop shop - get 'em in and get 'em out. I will not be returning to this Dermatologist. I would also recommend anyone looking to establish an ongoing relationship with their Dr and be treated as a patient and not a paycheck to find a better practice.
Dr. Slaughter was the only MD in the charlotte area that I found that would listen to my concerns regarding a growth that I had on shoulder. I went to him as a second opinion, after my other doctor was very dismissive about it. He took one look at it, and immediately understood my concern. Him and his nurse took excellent care of me. I am not sure if the other MD's that I had been to didn't want to perform my surgery bc they knew I was private pay; and were worried about payment issues?? However, once Dr. Slaughter found out that I was private pay he actually helped me out by offering me a free follow up visit after my surgery! I love Dr. Slaughter and will be returning to him. He was very professional and caring.
I give Charlotte Dermatology 5 stars... My experience today was great. All staff members were personable, making me feel comfortable and informed throughout my experience. Dr.Slaughter was great, he totally epitomizes the positive qualities that you look for in a doctor..
Dr.Schulman gave my son his self-esteem and confidence back before being treated by Dr. Schulman my son was seen by five other dermatologist and we spent over $1000.00 for medication. My son use to cover his head with a hoodie, wear wide bandanas over his forehead, keep his head down, stand behind me at family functions hoping the attention would be diverted towards me and he would often cry and doubt his facial condition would improve.
Dr.Schulman gave my son explicit directions, one of things he had to do was take a picture of himself prior to leaving his office and then take his picture every two weeks until his face returned to it's normal state. Three weeks later he took his hoodie off, he started laughing, playing and joking, he no longer stands behind me and last he is CONFIDENT... If you have not made an appointment I encourage you to take a leap of faith I did., If I could give him 10 STARS I would.
I had a great experience with Dr. Samantha, she helped me clear up dark spots and hyper pigmentation. She also set me up with Hope for laser hair removal, very quick and affordable.
Completely unprofessional. The support staff is irresponsible and their communication skills are less than stellar; took two weeks to get a call back and then blamed the specialty pharmacy for their mistake. Being someone who works in the healthcare industry, I am extremely disappointed with this practice. I will not be returning.
After waiting well past my appointment time I had to leave. Everyone else in the waiting room still hadn t been called and they all arrived before me. This practice has absolutely no respect for their patients or their time. My previous visit was similar but the waiting occurred while waiting for the doctor after being seen by the nurse. They obviously take on way more than they can handle at the expense of the patients. I will absolutely never return.
I had a wonderful experience with Michael Asbury, P.A.-C! I am chronically ill and disabled so doctors appointments are basically my job. This was my first time going to Charlotte Dermatology (Myrtle Beach) and I am so happy I chose to go. I have a complex history and abnormal skin issues so I have always gone to the M.D. for my skin. When they called they said they had Michael, who was a PA. I debated in my head about whether I should chance it with a PA. (this is not to undermine any PA's, I just prefer MD's because of my complexities and have always been scheduled with an MD for the same reason). I decided to give him a shot. And, I am so glad I did. He is very knowledgeable and likeable! Michael had such a nice calm sense about him and we took care of the first things right then! His assistant/nurse (I can't remember her name, but she has nice black Nike's and a gorgeous MK watch ;-)) She was super sweet, too! I am so pleasantly surprised! Thank you Michael Asbury PA-C for your kindness and caring today :) It means the world to someone like me who sees so many specialists it would make your head spin. Having a smooth easy going appointment is alway best! Super professional but also super down to earth; relatable :) Thank you, again!
Have not had a good experience with this office at all. I'm a patient for accutane and from the start I have not had a good experience. My first visit I had waited an HOUR after my appointment time for a 5 minute visit. Every time I have been I have had to wait 20-30 minutes after my appointment time. Today, I called the charlotte office after hours because they are not open today to get my prescription prescribed because i did not receive a prescription note which is vital for accutane patients, and I reached the physician, and asked her what to do since today is the last day I can get my refill. She did not have an answer for me, so instead she hung up on me. Very rude customer service. I am not happy with this office at all. Please avoid at all costs.
