My five year old son was a new patient and saw Dr.Slaughter for his first visit. I am a stay at home mom and brought my younger daughter with me. The moment the doctor walked into the room, before even introducing himself to us he asked the nurse to open up the room across the hall for myself and my daughter so that he could concentrate without all the extra noise. I understand how it could be distracting for doctors in general but he didn't even give my daughter a chance. Had she gotten too loud I would have had the common sense to exit on my own, but my daughter was quietly sitting in her stroller. As a parent, I always like to be with my son and the doctor to point out my concerns for the visit. I felt as though I was being punished for having a toddler with me and the doctor was beyond rude. It was a frustrating and belittling experience. Asking a parent to leave their young child alone with a strange doctor because they have a sibling is rude and very unsympathetic. We will not be returning.
