Beautiful facilities, nice members like former Presidents. Good luck becoming one yourself. Hope you know someone to invite you
Note: Golf review only.
I LOVE this track. It hosted the 1921 US Open which already says a lot. There is so much history here and it is a fantastic location. I know some complain about the layout but they truly maximize the land they have. It will be interesting to see how the Purple Line affects a hole or two. The mix at this course both off the tee and into the green will test every part of your game. They also have some of the best greens I have ever played on and apparently this is a constant throughout the year. One hint, stay below the hole. The par 3 16th (I believe) is iconic and may have been the influence for Augusta National's famed 12th hole. The 18th is a brute and a beauty heading back to the clubhouse.
I have also had a great experience with everyone playing at and working for this country club the two times I had the privilege of playing it. I played in a match here and they guys we played against were great golfers and even better hosts. Bob Dolan, the head professional here for decades, was also very gracious. It was fun being in the presence of a legend. And while there is a very high end feel to the club, I never felt too out of place here. That's saying a lot for a guy who grew up only being able to afford munis. And there are other prestigious country clubs in the area where I can't say the same. Obviously it was an absolute privilege to play here, and I hope to be back some day.
Staff and food were fantastic for the wedding we attended.
Not a lot of diversity except the staff. Food is good, not amazing. This is one of the oldest country clubs in the region. If you are a country club person, you will like this place. There are other clubs in DC, both grander and smoother, as well as lower end.
The Tennis Pro Nobus mustache says he's a man I can trust
Beautiful golf course, reminds me of my Dad and Woodmont
Beautiful location great for golf, bowling and tennis
Played with my buddy and two other members this past week. I was not very impressed with the layout and i have played better public courses than this.
The light rarely changes so it's quite easy to drI've past on the 355. Landscape appears pleasant.
Am unsure of other redeeming features.
Such a delightful place, great and friendly staff, excellent place for meeting and shows, good job..
You're treated like the most important member every time!
I personally think that Columbia country club is one of the three or four nicest clubs in the DC metropolitan area. Great golfing and plenty of tennis courts all surrounded by beautiful landscaping in a centrally located and easy to access area of Bethesda. Excellent food and bar choices.
Lovely old place. Excellent service and catering for a lovely event.
I join this club 2 years ago. This club is the best. Their service is the best also
Nice course, Jews were historically excluded but that may be different now days.
I walk past this club on Connecticut Ave on weekends and they seem to have abandoned the north end of their property allowing vines and bushes to overhang and block the sidewalk. Not very good members of the community.
UPDATE
I have added a star because after only two weeks and 190 views, they cut back (severely) the brush and completely eliminated the overhang Thank you.
Had a great time watching fireworks last night. Columbia really knows how to host a party.
Absolutely beautiful. We were at a wedding and it couldn't have been more spectacular.
Wonderful old school atmosphere! Very reminiscent of my childhood... Great food, powerful drinks!!!
Very nice setting. Have been there 2 years in a row for a dinner & dancing event. Food is very good. Can't comment about the golf. Staff very hospitable.
Gorgeous venu.. but strict with the no cell phone rule.
I attended a family wedding and the venue is absolutely gorgeous. The whole place is just really beautiful and the staff is accommodating and welcoming.
Attended charity benefit there this past weekend. Did a beautiful job Very nice setting. Food was very good. Service was excellent - wait staff and bar staff were both very attentive
A delightful gaithering venue. Steak Tartar is scrumptious...chicken salad is a super sound choice as well
Cool place. Not good that cellphone is not allowed though
