The service department at Charleston Power Sports is by far the best Marine service center I have had the pleasure of doing business with in my 20 years of boating. I called them at the first of the week and the worked me in to their busy schedule and the service was excellent. Before I was asked to pay the bill they spent time reviewing what they serviced, items to pay attention to and gave my boat the white glove treatment. Highly recommend this dealership for their high quality service and commitment to the customer's needs.

Dealt with Byron and Jerry and had a much different experience buying a new boat. We discussed the terms, agreed to the terms, and the deal was done. Glad I reached out to the owner he does care about his business and customers. Thank you for a great boat buying experience.
Over all experience was great! I had some concerns about they bike I bought and they had someone come pick it up within a couple hours and I was good to go shortly there after. Turns out I was just being overly cautious. They work well with the military as well. The guy who was helping me with helmets was super knowledgeable, it was quite impressive how much technology goes into each helmet and then also to remember them. The salesman "Champie" was easy to work with, made the transaction super easy and made the process a breeze.
Very helpful and knowledgeable. Bought a customized Scarab jet boat from them. Took one similar out on the water for testing and was impressed not only with the boat, but with Johns knowledge and experience. Worked with me on getting options that would best suit my needs and budget. Great service
After being told by other dealers in SC that I'd have to wait 8-10 weeks, or that they wouldn't even order my 2016 Yamaha R1, Ashley had it flown in within 1 week back in March. Update 08-18-2015: It's getting better......After many issues with the purchase of my boat. I have been able to work with management to rectify the situation. I was quite surprised that we were able to come to terms and work things out. I am looking forward to building a positive relationship with the dealership at this point and hope that everything will be resolved. Will update further as time goes on. As opposed to my original review: I would now consider Charleston PowerSports as a company that will work with you to make things right.
Original review with 1 Star: Purchased Scarab boat from Charleston Powersports in Charleston SC in March 2015. Since purchase, many problems with service from Charleston powersports that have not been resolved. When boat was purchased, premium wheels, Bluetooth radio, and a cooler were "standard" options for the specific boat I purchased (as noted on the Scarab Boats Website). Dealer (Charleston Powersports) stated they would contact Scarab/Rec Holdings to inquire. I spoke with the "Director of Customer Service", Ralph Hoskins who was unwilling to help or provide a solution. He advised that the website had a misprint for the year boat I purchased (2014) and that the premium wheels and radio were standard on 2015 model year boats. I advised that this was not a customer error but an advertisement error and that my concerns should be corrected due to this. Ralph Hoskins was unwilling to provide any help in the matter or even send me the cheap cooler that is supposed to come with the boat. I have not received a follow up from either Scarab/Rec Holdings or the Dealership on this matter.
The owner at Charleston Powersports/Velocity would also not honor a promise made by his General manager to upgrade audio equipment in my boat due to the ongoing issues with service and warranty issues. The owner offered a 550.00 credit and I was then responsible for the rest of the 2000.00's worth of equipment that was purchased. The customer service at this business is unacceptable and there is an obvious communication problem within the establishment.
The sales guys (champ) were extremely helpful and patient while I was figuring out what kinda bike I wanted. They took their time and broke down the financing so I could afford the bike I wanted. They really did go the extra mile to make sure I was happy and comfortable with the decision I made. I highly recommend if you wanted a bike,4-wheeler, or jet boat make Charleston power sports your first and only stop. THANKS GUY FOR BEING AWESOME.
Jason in Parts really helped me out. I was looking for new waterproof riding pants because my old Firstgear pants that I really liked had started to leak. Jason checked with his Tucker Rocky rep, Chad Kimbroll, on which ones he would recommend. Chad said that Firstgear pants should never leak even when they are old and they would replace them. I didn't know if they were still under warranty but they said that didn't matter. I am really impressed with how Jason at Charleston Power Sports, and Chad from Tucker Rocky went way out of their way to help. Also now I will always use Firstgear stuff
We were in the market for a Z125 and decided to come to Charleston Powersports. I ve done business with them before and it was a pleasure. We got the Z125 with the help of Randy! Brought in my 4 wheeler rear end to get the bearings and seals replaced. Bryan from service/parts told me it would take a week to do....it's now been 2 months and I'm just now getting it back. It's only a 3 hr job. They called me 2 weeks ago and told me it was done but they "forgot" to replace half the bearings. I WILL NEVER GO BACK.
This is extraordinarily a bad place !!!, I took them my ATV to repair, they said that in a week it would be ready, they spent several weeks and nothing. they had it under the sun and water without repairing. They gave it to me in 3 months and a half. It is terrible, I definitely do not recommend it.
Recently purchased an ATV. My salesperson was Desmond. He gave me all the information and guidance I needed to make an informed decision. The service department walked me through all the features and operation of the ATV so I felt confident on the first trip. My experience was very positive and I recommend them for any ATV purchase. Ask for Desmond.

Called around to a couple of places looking for parts on an older outboard. Did not received good customer service until i tried Charleston Powersports. AJ in parts helped look up and locate exactly what I needed. some of the parts turned out to be on back order from the manufacturer, but he kept me updated on the status the whole time. I will definitely be a repeat customer.
Ashley is the man!!!! Anything you need from street bikes to boats to wave runners he is definitely my first pick!! You can tell he is never in it for the quick commission but really wants to get you what you want at the best price!!! Would easily recommend to anyone in need of a new toy!!!

Charleston Powersports has a very professional and courteous staff including the parts and service departments. I have been purchasing parts from Russell for over 20 years and he has been a huge help in my tough parts finds. The service department has very fast and detailed staff. I brought my motorcycle wheels in for tire changes and got them back very with absolutely no wheel scratches....very impressive. I would recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a great place to get quality service.
I purchased a new Jet Ski and the experience went very smooth. I paid exactly what I wanted to for the new Ski.I have never owned a Jet Ski and they was very helpful in explaining all the options on the Ski and giving me some pointers out on the water. I was able to take the Jet Ski out for a test ride on the water before I made the purchase which was the deceiding factor in making the purchase. Even after the purchase my salesman has called to find out how things were going with Ski and if we needed anything. Highly recomend if your in the market for some fun to check out Charleston Power Sports 1st.

Wanted to purchase a Polaris Ranger and trade my 2012 HD Anniversary Edition VROD. Went by the store and spoke with the salesman after emailing him pictures and video of my HD. I live in Columbia and was in Charleston on business. Sales manager and salesperson agreed to my offer on trade. I trailered the bike down the next day (today) and the sales manager then stated he wasn't happy with the numbers and offered $2000 less on my trade. He stated he didn't know which model I had. I had provided pictures, the model number, and the VIN. I could get more at a flea market than the what the offered after we had already agreed on a price. I would have probably understood a small price adjustment based on a small nick in the paint, but $2000 is rediculous. I am trying to find contact info fir the general manager but no luck so far. If you are buying outright you may be OK. They will obviously try to take advantage of you if you have a trade. Beware.
Just bought a 2014 Yamaha Waverunner from Charleston PowerSports. Greg and his employees were all amazing. They did everything for me and answered every question I had. I definitely recommend going there if you are looking for a Jet Ski, Motorcycle, Dirt Bike, etc... They even had golf carts and some boats for sale! I recently purchased my first motorcycle from Charleston PS. As a new rider I had felt pushed around at some of the other dealerships I had been to. The staff at Charleston PS made it incredibly easy to test ride and purchase my new bike. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in purchasing a new or used bike!
I was in town for a few days on vacation, on the 2nd day I had an issue with my bike. Took it into the shop at Charleston Powersports to see about repairs. The service guys there are very helpful and friendly, they assisted me in getting the needed parts overnighted and got me back to my vacation with out a hiccup. I recommend these guys to everyone
Where to start-- We were told there was a complete check up and service done on the boat when we purchased it the end of March 2016. We only used it on nice weekends and July 3, 2016 it died. Looked into the intercooler hose to see lots of aluminum oxide debis from a defective intercooler; which had obvious signs it had been cracked for quite sometime before we purchased the boat.
Upon bringing the boat in, I was told the oil was completely black. We had just purchased it and the service was supposed have been done. When I approached the sales person to see if service had in fact been done (as we were told) he rolled his eyes at me and was very condescending; I was completely insulted!
The dealer had our boat for 52 days. 52 days! Not 52 days of wrenching on it, mainly 52 days sitting in a boat yard just waiting for parts or for them to actually work on it.
In my experience, TSB/recalls give you an exact part number when you have to replace a defective part. Almost a full month from when we first brought the boat in, I received notification the part had came in the last week of July should be finished the next week. Two weeks later when I called again, they told me the part they received was incorrect. My frustration with this is not the fact that the part was wrong but they had it for two weeks before bothering to tell me it was the wrong part. Again, which I had to call for myself to find out.
This is when I started a case with BRP. Once they were involved things started moving along. Once the part was installed and the boat water tested, we were notified it would be ready for pickup the next morning. When we returned their call to ask about the test results of the requested compression test they didn't have them but said it was okay. If we requested a test those numbers should be the first thing you add into the work order notes. So... the boat was supposed to be ready and cleaned per last conversation. Went to pick up the boat the next afternoon and it wasn't ready. It wasn't cleaned and had dirty grease marks on the white seats, boat was filthy from sitting outside for two months (which we had covers on it when we brought it in), there hitch plug wasn't attached, and nobody even offered to assist my spouse to hook up the trailer to the car. After all this I will never return to this shop.
The lack of communication here is absolutely unacceptable. Phone calls were rarely returned. Complete miscommunication between all staff members. One lady in service was about as rude and vague as could be.
I'm very happy BRP covered the repairs (as they should have anyway because it was a recalled part) and I'm the knowledgeable technician who installed the parts but all other parties involved I will be happy to never work with them ever again. I would highly recommend to never purchase a product from them.
Been dealing with Charleston Power Sports for a number of years ,they are my go to for all my Parts needs whether available or hard to find they always come through. Even though I'm not in the same state still get way better service best price every time .I couldn't do what I do if it weren't for the expertise and efficient people at Charleston Powers Sports .
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Bought a brand new jetski for over $7K, issue with delivery, no manual included. Asked on 5 separate occasions for a manual and was told " they would get one right to us", never happened!! Rode it twice an it quit running. Told it was not "a warranty issue" and charge $400 for repair. We literally had it for 2 weeks!!! Spoke to the manager, John, who blew us off and refused to make things right! We will never buy from Charleston Powersports again. If I were you, I WOULD STEER CLEAR!!
Update: we have been contacted by Charleston Powersports and are working towards a resolution. Byron was the first person that took us seriously and worked diligently to resolve the issue. He went above and beyond to makes things right! Hopefully, the rest of the team will follow his example in the future.
Every single time I go into Charleston Power Sports, I am greeted by first name and by the most welcoming people. Ashley in sales has always taken great care of us, even when he was in parts. He just helped us get a new 636 for my husband. Russell in parts always does his best to make sure that we leave happy and does whatever he can to make sure we have everything that we need. I always recommend Charleston Power Sports to all my friends and I will never go anywhere else!

i bought a vstar650 from a guy off Craigslist, he had over 800 dollars in work done by you guys before he sold his bike, i have his receipts, that carb clean you guys did, you never put the jets back in lol. when i had carb issues the 2nd day, took about part and jets laying in bowl haha, wow not to mention all the other worthless 800 dollar charge you guys did, dont let monkeys turn wrenches, run away from here

Dealer misplaced the title and the 18 year old sales mgr "John", most likely he's A John and not John, would not give me his name or assist me with my title or take ownership at all. Beware, any sales mgr or dealership that refuses to give out his last name is hiding corrupt practices and does not stand behind his deals or the products that they push. Will not be going back there to make a deal. I'd rather drive to Myrtle Beach to get another bike and will be getting my bike serviced elsewhere.
Charleston Powersports provided an truly awesome buying experience for my new motorcycle! Their sales staff, Ashley, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He helped me weight the pros and cons of each of the two models i was torn between(fz-09 and fj-09) and helped direct me to the bike that fit my riding style/personality best(FZ-09). Once I decided on the bike, we found out that the color I wanted was not available to sell due to an issue on Yamaha's behalf. Within an hour they acquired another one from their sister company and had it ready for me to ride. I honestly couldn't have asked for any better of an experience!
Spent 3 hours there, bought, paid cash for and did all paperwork on 2 jetskis, loaded on my trailer, to be stopped and told they cannot sell them at the price they did. Second time they did this. Dont waste your time. Now was too late to go anywhere else..... what a waste.
Great experience with Kenny as my salesman and Gregg rilee as my finance manager. Arrived before my scheduled appointment and Kenny took the time to personally go over everything about my new 2014 canam outlander mxr.

I bought a Mule from CPS, took it in for the first service and it was returned leaking engine oil. Later the front CV joint went bad and needed replaced, took it for repair to CPS on 9th of month, still has not been repaired, today is the 27th. A simple phone call would have gone a long,long way.

From the time I walked in the show room til the time I rode off the lot on my new FZ 09, the whole experience was GOLDEN. First I met with Kenny, a technical motorcycle rider, who knew all about the FZ09. He verbally broke down this triple cylinder yamaha in terms I could understand. Kenny's goal was to get me on the right bike and riding. Second I met with John, another motorcycle rider and enthusiast, who worked with my budget. John explained paper work and helped me save money on my insurance. Again, John's goal was to put me on the right bike for my needs and riding. There was no pressure or price haggling. Third I met with Ashley, a high tech rider, who personally found the right gear me. Ashley explained innovative accessories and gear available to me. I had not been a regular rider for years. Fourth John sent me to the garage and I was able to ask questions to technicians. Fifth Kenny went over a final check list with me to make sure I understood my FZ09. I love motorcycles and anything outdoors. I went there to get a front tire for my Yamaha V-Star 650 custom and they said they charged me $109 for the tire and think it was $60 for the changing of the tire service when I came to pick up the bike they said they had to charge me an extra $16 because they had to put a new tire tube. personally I think that should have been included in the installation fee you always put a new tube in a motorcycle tire regardless if it needs it or not it's a safety issue.
I recently decided on a new bike and began the process of researching and sitting on different makes in an effort to make the right choice for my needs. My salesman Desmond was so helpful and offered me as many options as possible, then introduced me to their parts department which is full of knowledgeable people. Communication with the service department team needs improvement. I took my ranger in for some repair work. After several calls I finally got in touch with the General Manager Byron. He made all the difference in my experience with this company. He was very professional and went the extra mile to help me out with my repair after some frustration and misunderstandings. His customer service is the reason I'll do business with this company again.
