Oh my is this place beautiful. I loved the room, bathroom... the tub was great for a tall person. The turn down was a nice surprise. I can not wait to go back.
Lipstick on a pig.
We stayed in room 233 for one night. Overlooked a filthy garbage collection area. Just because that's where you store your garbage doesn't mean it had to be so filthy.
Several water fixtures in the bathroom were broken including the tub water plug and sink faucet. Hair in the bathtub and on the sink counter. Corners of the room dirty.
I could go on. They also charge you $35 in additional fee I wasn't told about at check in, v but we're quietly slipped under my door the next day. Including a $12 per day parking fee.
I would not recommend this place to anyone except my worst enemy.
The bellhop, Coleman, is the best! He was super friendly and helpful. Recommended plenty of great restaurants and points of interest. The conceirge was not very friendly. She did not acknoledge us. Coleman luckily was able to jump in and help us when she ignored us. If I owned a hotel, I'd 100% hire Coleman.
I stayed here in the penthouse for our wedding night. The room was great. It had a ton of room and was very comfortable. The view was great and I would certainly stay here again!
I wrote an extensive review of this hotel and included pictures. For whatever reason my review was deleted. This place is horrific, I wouldnt recommend anyone stay here.
This was one of the worst hotels that we've ever visited. Our "deluxe" room included a great view of the dumpsters, propane tanks and random storage items. The bathroom door was broken, did not lock, and left a 1.5" gap. Wish I had looked at the most recent Expedia reviews before booking. Bathroom items such as lotion and body wash hadn't been refilled. Internet did not work during our visit at any point. The a/c system and fridge rattled all night long. Something in the room caused a high pitch whistle sound from 7:30 to about 8:30am. In the middle of the night we had staff tossing out piles on glass bottles and garage into dumpsters. At 7am they had workers tossing around metal construction material and dropping them in the same area. The 4th level has lots of wall damage, squeaky doors and needs a fresh coat of paint. The good - included a comfortable bed, working tv, working shower and non carpeted floors in the room. Front desk apologized for noise issues and that's that. You can hear everything going on in the rooms above, across and next to you. Hotel charges a pretty hefty resort fee for all the "amenities". Not worth what they charge.
Rooms not ready until after 6 pm. No hot water. Calls to guest services are not answered. Something is badly wrong here. Avoid! We've stayed here before and had a good experience. I won't be back.
This hotel had all the nice things that made me feel like I was being taken care of. Our weekend was very luxurious and comfortable. They replaced towels and bright us new robes. The front desk woman was very helpful with the shuttle.
Buyer Beware! Black mold in facility. We wanted to love this resort, the pool area, dock and location made for a perfect stay. That being said, the fourth floor needs mold remediation pronto. Check it out for yourself. As you exit out of the turtle slow elevator, your nose immediately gets wafted with a smell of old man piss- or something dead. Look up by the ceiling above said elevator door, and there it is- black mold. Now, take a left. Bam!! Nasty smell. Our room was the second on right. We mentioned to the hotel this was in the room and they sent maintenance and cleaners to address the issue. Sorry, but paint and bleach is only temporary. This hotel has it in their system, walls and pipes. Customers sleep in it and employees work in it. With a smell like that, worse than musk, or worse than a slight moldy smell, I promise you the Board of Health should be concerned with the mold in this building.
Very nice hotel, great location and very friendly service. The only criticism I have would be the cleanliness of the room was OK, but not 'perfect' I may have just gotten a sub par room as the entire staff and property feels very well maintained and professional. The property has a great view and lots to offer. Very large tiki bars and pool areas, nothing felt crowded. The rooms are very large and spacious.
Beautiful rooms, overly nice staff, great food and amazing views
Stayed for our anniversary and had a great time. Staff went the extra mile to make it special.
Pretty neutral on this. The hotel was clean but the grout in the shower could use a good scrub. I still had to pay for parking as a guest of the hotel and that rubed me the wrong way.
Went to an oyster roast today with a live band. Beautiful day and location.
Absolutely amazing. The entire staff was friendly and professional. The resort was clean and well kept both inside and out. The pool areas were awesome, plenty of room to relax with a great view of the harbor. The view of the bridge behind the USS YORKTOWN made for some really nice pictures. I highly recommend staying at Charleston harbor resort.
Were disappointed with this hotel. Yes, it has beautiful grounds, with outdoor pools and jacuzzis, open fire areas and a sandy beach, but how can a resort hotel not have a microwave in the room? Moreover, they do not offer breakfast, and the nearest restaurant within walking distance is only an expensive fish restaurant.
The strong point of this hotel is all on the street. The room disappointed greatly, except for soap and shampoo, there are no more funds: cotton pads, sticks, shower caps, bathrobes and slippers are also missing, there are not even hygiene bags, the beds are dirty. One packet of coffee and not even tea bags. In general, the room was "tired" and small. So is the bathroom. Stupid door - compartment to the toilet. She could hardly move, had no handles and was difficult to reach between the walls. We went to the toilet, leaving the door ajar, otherwise you could be blocked in the toilet. The beds were not stable.
Strange staff work. In a half-empty hotel, they could put us in a more interesting room. With a beautiful view or something else, so that we would like to return in the summer, but no, it was the 2nd floor without any views. But we had an expensive Deluxe room. Only due to what it is called that and so expensive is not clear. I do not recommend it.
You are a nice hotel, but very expensive, why is it
Rooms are a bit old and outdated. The ac was noisy. Didnt like how the toiletries was set up under a reinforced bracket. My room faced the delivery area. However views around the property was spectacular
We enjoyed a delicious dinner with dear friends. The food was yummy! The desserts looked divine but there simply wasn't room after dinner. The view was fabulous!
Nice rooms. Great location the staff at the front desk could have been more attentive. I ended up on a wild goose chase to look for their hot tub only to then find out that it was not working. It would have been nice if they were more aware and were able to tell me that before sending me that direction.
Rented a sailboat, sailed the harbor, it was fantastic.
Place was off the hook...service n location was great !!!
We re newlyweds who reserved a two night stay at the Harbor Resort for our wedding night and it was awful. Our room was a king deluxe and there was nothing deluxe about it. It was old, dirty and falling apart. When we arrived, the closet door handle had fallen off, exposing a big rusty screw. The smoke detector was dangling by its wires from the ceiling and there was a lot of mold in the grout of the bathroom. It was not what we had imagined for our wedding night. Worst of all, our windows directly faced the rooms and balconies of the hotel next door. So much for a romantic room on the harbor. We had zero privacy and couldn t enjoy our partial harbor views. Instead, we felt trapped in our dark, dirty and delapitated room. I ve never been so disappointed in my life. When we complained to the staff, we were simply given $40 (the resort fees) off our stay and told that we ll get a discount next time, but why come back? We re locals celebrating a special occasion and they totally blew it. At no time did any of the staff even acknowledge the fact that it was our wedding weekend, even though it was indicated on our reservation. Not even a card in the room. But the worst is the mound of excuses they gave about having trouble with staff turnover and getting ready for their busy season. So, any guests visiting during the off-season are to be shafted during their stay? This hotel is severely neglected, poorly managed and not worth its price tag. Take your money to a hotel where the staff actually cares about providing a good experience for their guests.
Marina and Charleston Harbor based hotel. Rooms have a nice maritime theme. Lots of places to eat and drink. Plan to eat at the "The Fish House" bar during happy hour, 4-6pm Sunday thru Friday. GREAT burgers, calamari, and fried green tomatoes. Fire pits at night and very nice sunsets.
Loved the southern beach vibe, the location but very disappointed with the customer service, specifically as it relates to house keeping. We were out of our room most of the day. Left before 10am, came back for an hour around 12:30pm. On our way back at 4 specifically called to ask if our room could be cleaned because it wasn't when we stopped back earlier. Got back and still not cleaned. So I went down and asked when house keeping stops, they said at 6 so I mentioned we would be leaving at 5:30 so to please clean our room after 5:30 and before they stopped that would be great. Then housekeeping knocks at 5 while our one-year old is trying to nap. Then we get a call to ask if housekeeping can come earlier otherwise it's "going to be a while" and now my baby AND husband are sleeping so no we will have to wait until after. Then they call AGAIN after I just said everyone was napping (she had called the wrong extension ). We leave at 5:30 and on our way out request again with the front desk that our room be cleaned as we are leaving - "yes, no problem". We get back at 9pm and our room and still not been cleaned! Went down to the front desk and she said as reception can only "request" and didn't offer us any other solution other than my husband asking for trash bags so we could clean up our own room... How about "oh I am so sorry about that - let me check with house keeping and see what happened"? Well regardless if it was housekeeping or the front desk very distracting and annoying experience. Still love the marina, walking distance to USS Yorktown and great walking boardwalk.
Nice accommodations. There is a parking fee on top of the hotel room cost so be prepared for that. Only complaint I with my allergies which is common with many hotels. The AC filters need to be changed more regularly.
Loved it. Would stay here again. Great pool area, friendly staff and the rooms are awesome with stunning views. Stayed three nights in July and had a great experience.
Most terrible place I have ever stayed at...over 1,000.00 for 3 nights stay an no air. Requested numerous times to be fixed an reset fan to high instead of low. The resort had numerous fire pits but only lit one. Needless to say, after 3 trips back to the front desk to complain, our bill was considerably lower and we will never stay there again. Don't waste ur time and/or money, not worth it. Drive on to Florida. O, no towels brought when requested either.
The drinks and music were awesome. I had tons of fun and the overall atmosphere was perfect.
Absolutely gorgeous resort. Beautiful and spacious rooms. The resort itself is kept in pristine condition. The staff was on the ball too.
Amazing resort. Beautiful views of the harbor and Patriots Point. Fantastic amenities and staff, clean rooms and easy access to lots of local sites.
Blood-stained sheets and other grime in the room and bathroom. Moved to another room which was worse and third move was just ok, even though it was a suite. Hotel management was unresponsive. Restaurant accidentally served us another table's appetizer, we weren't paying attention and cut into it with our already used forks and knives. After they noticed mistake, they saw we had cut into it with our own saliva- soaked utinsels, retrieved the appetizer and then... SERVED IT TO THE CORRECT TABLE! Why oh why didn't they get the other table a fresh appetizer? It was off season during our visit, but off season shouldn't warrant such horrible cleanliness and service.
The restaurant acted like we were The Beverly Hillbillies, the hostess was very rude. Most of the other staff was very rude. Overrated overpriced. Paying customers should be treated better
Rooms aren't as thoughtful as they could have been. Nice views and staff.
Awesome venue for Charleston Race Week. Sailing in SC at its finest
Nothing really special about the place. It draws its guests from being near the city of Charleston. The amenities are dated and isn't worth the cost. The cost of $259.00 a night, I have had better accommodations for less with other brands.
This was a nice place to stay but their pier is a non-fishing, even though it says that you can on its Web site.
Cannot wait to return. Loved that we could visit both sides of the hotel as we liked all 3 pools and couldnt decide on our favorite. Staff was friendly. Although friendlier on the Harbor side. Loved the shuttle, we used it everyday. The shuttle drivers were just the nicest guys and recommended some great food. We cannot wait to return for a longer stay.
Pictures tell a thousand words and I love how pictures have been disabled for reviews for this place. I wish you could see how disgustingly filthy our ocean view room with a balcony was! Dirt inches deep on the baseboards. Hair in the bathtub. Grime and dirt in the sink and all over the bathroom. Stains on the sheets and pillows. It's absolutely unreal how dirty this place is. A motel probably would have been cleaner than this. We weren't allowed an early check-in because they were "cleaning" the room. Can't imagine what it looked like before they "cleaned" it. Spend the extra money to stay somewhere downtown and save yourself the headache.
This is a very nice hotel with a beautiful view of the Charleston across the harbor. They offer a free shuttle that will take you down town which is convient with the difficult parking situation in the city. Also our room had wood floors, I've never seen that in a hotel before.
Hotel would seem to be understaffed during busy times.
1. Did not receive maid service the first morning of our stay. Hotel maids were too busy. I called housekeeping at 6:00 p.m. and they said sorry but a maid would come clean room soon. There was no need since we were turning in for the evening. I walked down to get some towels so we could shower.
2. The Buffet breakfast which was included in our package stay (and NOT FREE because we paid more for the package stay than a regular priced room) was horrible. It was 15 minutes til closing of breakfast but that shouldn't matter. I had to "saw" through several of my food options because they were so hard and dried out. I suppose the hotel feels that the breakfast is FREE so we should be happy with what we got. This is a terrible attitude, if it does exist. Food and service should represent the quality of the hotel from beginning to end. Anything else is a disservice to your guest, staff and hotel name.
3. Our hotel package came with "nightly turndown service". No, it did not. Not on any night of our stay did that happen. We stayed three nights. I explained this to the hotel stay and they said..."sorry" as if that were good enough.
4. Rooms are nice (some broken furniture gave a bit of lackluster but I can see where they were going with the decor) but lack of dedication to staffing or excellent service really brought the hotel experience down.
Overall, I would gamble that in 3-5 years time this will be known as a hotel in Charleston that used to be really nice to stay in, but is "past it's prime". If I were to guess, I would say that the decorating scheme of yellow/blue nautical was a major hotel investment several years ago and that the hotel is going to squeeze every ounce of investment out of it to the point of becoming tacky and outdated. I would urge them to not do that.
The location is great and they have the opportunity to shine if they pay attention to major hotel services which are currently lacking (clean room, good maid service, excellent food and services promised and carried through). As it stands, hotel is teetering on the edge of "Want-to-be-fine-hotel" with one foot firmly planted in the "About-to-be-tacky" yard.
I hope they don't let your Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina become a "Once Was".
Thank you for your time.
One of the best places I have been to in a very long time. Great food and service.
Our stay at this resort during spring break was very disappointing. The resort itself was beautiful, but the service was not good. They were understaffed, they went three days without cleaning our room, our toilet was broken, after fixing it they left the used toilet part in our bathtub. There was exposed electrical on the bathroom switches in our room. They also falsely advertise a swim up bar, tiki bar and, an additional restaurant they don't have. They have 3 pools, but only the small one was heated, the other two weren't usable. I let the general manager know of our issues and he gave us a $200, off of our $6,000 bill. Very underwhelming!
The food is great!! The wait isn't bad and they have an open bar at the top. Lunch is ok for the price but goes up at night. The help is very friendly. Great people.
Beautiful place. Rooms decor was gorgeous. Will definitely return
Update.. I got my $50 back after opening a theft report with my card the same day.
they hung up on me four times and say that I hung
up on them four times.SCAM,SMAM...Do not give card for $50 deposit. Manger hung on me they stole my money!!!..I did and week later and after calling them I didn't get my money back. I didn't steal any towels or anything from them but did they steal my $50?...YES!
We booked through American Express Platinum Travel. Let me just say that this was the worst stay I have ever had, we actually left a night early and paid the $500 just to leave. The Holiday inn is most likely more enjoyably. We ordered a seafood tower and bottle of wine for my wife and I, we never get out because we have a toddler. It showed up 3 hrs later. Anyways, enjoy the no beach, beach club, and the Horrible service... if you can find the check in desk. We stayed in room 1412 and it s definitely haunted.
OM Charters was fantastic, and I highly recommend them. Captain was super warm and welcoming and knowledgable about the Charleston area. The boat was clean and the weather couldn't have been more perfect on the water. The parking however was absymal....I don't remember them ever charging for parking but you have to pay now. We got our tcket and tried to pay at the kiosk that only takes credit cards and they were down. So we try to go to the gate to see if scanning the ticket will let us through. It doesn't. We end up being 3 cars deep, it's 95+humidity and we we're roasting in the car. Finally some kid on a golf cart that works there drops someone off at the pavilion ignores the line of people trying to get out and I have to shout at him to please help. He didn't seem pleased to want to stay out in the sun (who does?) And he let us through with a wristband. But maybe they could implement a failsafe where people don't need to back up the line to get out and end up roasting in their cars when the online payment system is down???
Stayed at marina. Great staff, nice docks, etc. Very, very long walk to parking lot.
We had a spectacular time here. The resort was well kept with lots of amenities. The pools were amazing. The view of the harbor and the navy shops was outstanding. It's a short shuttle ride to downtown Charleston. We'll definately visit again next time we're in the area.
Very nice marina! Bring water, there is not much shade!
It is great. the view is great, the rooms are great, the restaurants are great, everything is great here.
We had a mouse in our room and it took someone half hour to come up. By the time they came up it was obviously gone and nothing was done!
Beautiful Views of the harbor also easy access to cheep water taxi services to Charleston and harbor area attractions.
The staff was helpful and friendly. The resort is great, despite the renovations taking place. We would stay here again.
Beautiful location and view. Excellent service and stunning rooms. Very clean. A must stay spot in Charleston.
Great location and room was very clean. House keeping was not allowed to clean the room because of coronavirus. We tracked sand an dirt into the room and had no one or no way to clean it. Nothing better than walking on a dirty hard surface floor with no socks or shoes on. If the floor would have been able to be cleaned I would give the place a 5 star. The Caribbean Coladas from the bar are great. I downed quite a few of them.
Nice hotel! Great location on the harbor at the marina! Great view! Fun activities available whether at the marina, "beach" area, next door golf, next door Patriot Point naval ships including a World War II aircraft carrier with planes, destroyer, and submarine! Plus lots of local flare all around Mount Pleasant and a water taxi ride away from historic downtown Charleston! Great deals online sometimes on hotel rates!
Great location, nice people, facilities could use an updating, very clean.
Right now might not be a good time to go. They are remodeling and building new resort next door. There is a lot of construction and dust and mud. They were
Breaking up old tile at elevator so it was noisey. Rooms do need upgrading. We were on 3rd floor. Sink needs re caulking. Rug in room didn't seem
Clean. Hall rug had spills stained on them. Found
Candy wrapper and hair band under bed. Waited
For clean room and bed was not even vacuumed
Under. I have gone there at least 2 other times and planned to go each year. Not so sure now.
Fantastic staff, beautiful decor of the facility and rooms, wonderful back patio and pool area.
Horrible hotel, we do not recommend. Noisy rooms, room overlooking dumpsters and trash. Broken doors, scratched up and beaten up walls. Internet didn't work once. You can hear everyone from inside the room. This was the upgraded deluxe room.
Awesome place to stay. Close to downtown-French Quarter.
Let s start with the pros:
Location is beautiful.
Hotel lobby of the beach house (same hotel, different building) is gorgeous!
Gorgeous view of the ocean
Several pool options and a jacuzzi are available.
Hot cocoa is available in the evenings.
Check in was delayed by three hours. Instead of 4,
we got our room at 7 PM. The manager, Jean, was very kind and informed us that there were only two housekeepers that day. If Check out is at 11:00AM, I don t understand why it should take 8 hours for the room to be turned over to another guest. This problem needs to be rectified immediately
When we got to our room it was two queens, not a king like we had requested upon booking online.
Lady at guest services (over the hotel phone) first told me there was a king room available without a view. When I handed the phone to my husband a few moments later, she told him all rooms were booked. She said she would call us to let us know whether or not a room has become available the following day so that we wouldn t sit around waiting no one ever called.
When we came back to the hotel after our second day, our room hadn t been cleaned before
Parking is $12 per night.
They took off $64 for Parking fees and miscellaneous gratuity fees that would ve been added to our bill had we not brought all of these things to their attention again.
Great bar service. Beautiful views, can sometimes see dolphins in the harbor. I also love walking the marina. Water taxi is convenient to get back downtown.
It's 5pm and no made the room everything is dirty and the towels haven't changed
It's never happened to me in any other hotel.
I took a charter boat here. The marina is very easy to navigate and has bathrooms available to the public. Cannot speak to the resort
Nice resort, make sure you get a room with a balcony
