I have been with Challenger for nearly 3 years now and I have no complaints whatsoever. They installed my system and have maintained it well. Scheduling a service call is no problem and they always respond in a timely manner. Very pleasant people doing a good job!
Had an issue with another companies installation. Called Challenger and John came out and fixed the issue. I singed a service contract and will use them for everything.
They fire people based on the word of people that drink and drive and were afraid that was gong to be told.
This is the second year in a row using Challenger to service my irrigation system. Prior to using them 2 years ago I was a loyal customer to 1 local company who's service was falling short. I couldn't be any happier with the quality of service the last 2 years. I would recommend Challenger Irrigation for all your needs.
Employees all different. All I am commenting is I have a sprinkler head on one of the zones that is in the next lot over.
Had septic work done and needed the sprinkler system to be reinstalled.
Brendon did an outstanding job also took his time to answer my question s, gave some good tips.

After a minor accident with our back flow late in the day I called after hours and John was very helpful and quick to respond. He sent someone out first thing in the morning and Mike was able to give us advice on how to fix it ourselves before installing a whole new unit. Unfortunately we happened to break a piece that is not sold separately so we had to replace the whole unit. I spoke with Margaret in the office and once she found out we are without water she made us top priority and Mike was back here within a half hour already replacing it for us. The price for a new unit was less than half than the plumbing company that originally installed it quoted us. We couldn't be happier.
Save yourself some time and call this company first.
The people here are rude and terrible business people. I had them do a full system replacement on a well with a 2 year parts and labor warranty, less than a year later the switch breaks and they charge me for an emergency repair, charge me for the switch, and charge me for labor as well. They claim the switch isn't covered by the warranty. 2 months later, the switch breaks AGAIN! I call and ask why the switch keeps on breaking and the guy hangs up on me.
Don't use these people. They put in faulty systems and their warranty is a joke.
Great job installing a new irrigation system Covers every corner of our yard. John's crew is dedicated to doing a perfect job. They all know how to do their job and do it efficiently. The new Rain Bird control panel is easy to set up with lots of options.
I had another company install my system last month. Bad idea! Called several people and Challenger Irrigation was the only company that would come out and fix the issues i was having within a couple of days. Will use again!
I contacted this company because it was recommended by a former employee of them and I needed 2 quotes for 2 different irrigation systems in the same property.
After almost 3 weeks calling to get the estimates I finally get both back. One had a logical price and it was good to go (I asked not sure how many time what we need to get that work started but never got a answer) The other one was over 3000$ more (the only difference was a new pump installed and a few feet of wires) I called them again to know why the price difference.
The person answering the phone was always rude, not willing to get answers, said that if I didn't like it I could go somewhere else, she said she would get someone to review the quote and get back to me and never did, she sent me the same quote 4 times and when finally I got the quote fixed and I was calling to get all the work started I got an email stating that they weren't going to do the work.
I tried talking with the owner John F. Sirvent, they told me he would give me a call back and never heard from him (not sure the even told him I wanted to speak with him).
I own and manage properties in South Florida and this is the first time I encounter an experience like this one, this company Challenger Irrigation has been in the market for over 20 years. I really don't think this is the way other clients have been treated because otherwise It wouldn't be a second generation managed company.
I took the time to write this review not because of the quality of their work but of the customer service provided by the employees. I really hope this doesn't become a recurring issue for the company.
This company is AMAZING!! I know nothing about an irrigation system and mine was leaking. I called Challenger and within 15 minutes they had 2 guys at my house. I will be using them anytime my system needs help. The best service company all around I've found since moving to FL. Will definitely recommend to everyone!!
We scheduled a repair, had to cancel it. Rescheduled and it rained and no one called or showed up. We had to call again on Monday and now they could not help up until this Thursday per my Husband. I called and cancelled it as we should not have to wait until Thursday. If you did not show or cancel then we should be first up on the list for the next business day not pushed out several more days. Since Diane left their office staff leave a lot to be desired. John Sr. has turned the Business over to John Jr. service has suffered under the new management. We have been with them since 2002, but, we have to seek new arrangements as I find their office staff is unable to prioritize customers.
Had Challenger Irrigation give me an estimate for sprinklers. They came out and installed my new system and am very happy. They explained how to change mt timer and everything. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I asked for a new zone to be added to my sprinkler system. The two installers were very professional and courteous. The job was done on time and on budget for the quote that was given me. I'm very pleased with their service.
Made an appointment a few weeks ago. Changed my schedule so I would be home and they didn't show up, I checked my cameras to be sure we didn't just miss them. The office girl asked them to show up, three hours later, still no show. The owner said I will have to reschedule, which means changing my work schedule again. I'm looking for someone more reliable.
I called Challenger for repair work after my pool construction was finished and was given a quote to run the main line and replace the few heads that needed to be fixed. The first day they were supposed to show they canceled due to an emergency and said they would reschedule for the upcoming Saturday. Had to cancel plans but I was good with that. Saturday came around and the appointment time was 8am-10am, but come 11am I called them and was given an excuse of why they didn t show (they could of called me). After receiving a Monday appointment and after they completed the job I called them back because zone 3 was not working and gushing out water. No return the next day to complete the job or nothing. The job was not completed and they said they would need to schedule me for the following week (more time off work). Company called AGAIN to reschedule for the following day. Today is the following day and YES, a no show. I just called to get an ETA and was told they would call back after talking to the tech and now they are closed. I only gave a star because it made me to write a review! I ve put $800 worth of sod down and the company has rescheduled 5 times. Jobs still not completed and I wouldn t recommend this company to anyone.
Just bought a house in Weeki Wachee and noticed that our sprinklers were not working right so I called Challenger because my father-in-law recommended them. Mike came out right on time and was excellent. Not an easy fix but he figured it out and the price was more than fair. I would highly recommend Challenger and especially Mike!!

We tried others in the area and have had problems of all sorts, so we don't mess around anymore. We have decided to stick with Challenger as they are always there when we need them and by far the most professional of all of the Irrigation Companies in the area.
Loved the service...we bought a house with a non working sprinkler system instead of trying to upsell his own service. John the owner talked me though what to have my husband do first and only sold me what we needed. Everything ended up working just fine without any extra expenses or being told to just put in a new system! Which is what another sprinkler company told us to do. We booked a irrigation install with Challenger and on the day of install, they never showed or even called to say they weren't coming. When my wife called the phone operator said she was very sorry and she wasnt sure what happened as we were on the schedule for the day. She would reschedule us for the following day. My wife asked for the manager to call us . We never received a phone call. The next day, a no show again. I called to ask if they were going to show up and was given the same excuse again, we were on the schedule but not sure what happened. Still no phone call from the manager even though we asked for one. Third day, a no show again. Needless to say we cancelled the service. DO NOT USE THEM.
Had a great experience. Home came with challenger irrigation but needed to add some sprays because of my new fence. Dave was excellent very professional and this guy knows his job. Not sure if it was the best price but quality work is important for me. Highly recommend them. Dave rode more than 1 hr to get to our home. Happy with our irrigation distribution.
I called cause I had a problem with my sprinkler system. I called the office spoke to a lady named Amber. She took the time to find out what I needed and set me an appointment with her best tech. The young man came out showed me what I needed to have done. And he was on time, very professional. And he repaired my system and its working wonderfully. Anyone need sprinkler help, call Challenger Irrigation and they can take care of whatever you need in no time.
I continue to have problems with this company. They just never can seem to get the job done right. They came out and installed a 4 zone system at my house. Their was not enough drip line in my beds. The control box sticks up 4 inches in an area that is going to be a small path. (They knew this). The installer talked me out of a head in an area I felt needed it. He put a rotating head in the center. It still does not water the area that needs the water.
My sales man came back you and told me he agreed with all of my complaints and they would be fixed within a few days. They in fact did come out in a couple of days but......... One of the drip lines just shoots water out the end. The control box was not lowered. The needed additional head was not added.
I am going to call today and AGAIN ask that they return and fix this mess.
I had just purchased a home and the existing irrigation system was not working properly. I called on 3 irrigation companies for quotes. One of my neighbors suggested Challenger Irrigation. They were not only the lowest of the 3 quotes but were also the only company who was not trying to up sell me on an entire new system. Mike was honest, knowledgeable and very professional. He showed up on time to the scheduled appointment, and made the necessary repairs, showed me how to work the timer and set up all my timer settings. My system works great now. I would highly recommend them!

Poor service. Improperly fixed the problem I called them for. Instead just tried to sell me more services. Called several times regarding their error and all I got was attitude and denials. Finally had to call another company who fixed my system properly.
They were hired to fix my lawn sprinkler system. They came out when promised, wrote an estimate, and did the work for the estimated cost. During the job, they found an additional problem and fixed it - without any additional charge! This company is prompt and professional. Their technicians are experts in their field. I would gladly hire again.
I like to commend Challenger Irrigation for having one of their workers David on staff. I called to check an item they installed in our new house. David responded and fixed a few minor things that were probably overlooked. His knowledge and expertise in irrigation and sprinkler system was very commendable. It s rare that someone takes time to explain things simple to a homeowner. You sense that David enjoys his work and dedication. We recently had a new drain-field installed and the septic company ripped up the irrigation pipes and heads. We called challenger to come out and fix what was done. Dave came out and was extremely helpful, professional and quick. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality service.
I have an appointment today between 10-12 and it s 12:49 now and no one showed up neither received any call to let me know what going on. I have some appointments today and am still waiting for the service guy to install my timer. Is there any explanation for that? Should I wait the whole day to get this timer fixed?
I called them and they answered me back with uncaring voice that they re over booked . ***HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!**** I will NEVER recommend them to my neighbors and friends in Spring Hill. Really upset from this company!!!
After being recommended by several Sugarmill Woods neighbors, I called for an estimate- they came right out- we were happy with the estimate, took an UNPAID day off of work to be home and they never showed up and never called! My husband called to reset the schedule and guess what..... yep!!!!! They never showed up and never called!!!!

I own a lawn spray company. If my customers aren't watering their lawns they can't get the full effect of the products we apply to them. We have been referring our customers to Challenger for years and never heard anything but high praise for the results their technicians produce. Great group of people. Our sprinklers were installed by another company a while back. Challenger came out and replaced all the broken lines and heads. We even added two more zones to our backyard.

Do not do any Bussiness with unreliable company! I Made an appointment with them, they never showed up and had no courtesy to call to say they can t come in. And when I called them, the customer service Angela was just not helpful from the beginning, and then another customer service rep called me Margaret and she had no solutions for me, she was very rude on the phone. And she said sorry we just couldn t make it yesterday, and next appointment we can give you will be a week from now. So in the meanwhile not only their technician didn t do a good job from
beginning to fix everything, but now I had to deal with waiting time. I just hired another sprinkler company who I can depend on.
The Challenger Irrigation technician, Fred, was knowledgeable of my Rainbird System. The system was installed by a competitor and at that time, I requested the brochure/instructions and was I told there wasn t any, by the owner. I find that hard to believe. When my system would not turn on after I manually set to water after applying fertilizer, nothing. I tried resetting etc. I called the original company to come out. My appointment window was between noon and 3. At 3:01 on a Friday, I get the call from Challenger s competitor and the young man said uh, I won t be there today, I m done, I m going home . So I wanted 3 hours, only to get a call that they weren t coming. Well, I do not reward bad service with a second chance. I called Challenger on a Thursday afternoon and got an immediate appointment for the next day. So, my system wasn t broken. I just wasn t told manual watering does not override the rain sensor. Had I had the booklet that MUST HAVE CAME WITH THE RAINBIRD CONTROLLER, I would have known. At least, the experience with the Challenger technician, I actually learned something that I should have been shown when it was first installed. Challenger has won my business!

Challenger added a new sprinkler system at my home and I have to say they were professional and courteous from day one. They gave me a quote, came and inspected the old sprinkler system I had from a previous home owner and gave me a great estimate. They were honest and hard working and did an excellent job!
We just found Challenger and are very pleased with them. My husband was so impressed that when we needed them to help again he ask for Mike who really knows irrigation systems. Even old ones.

I was told someone would come out in a designated day.... they did not... had to call several times to get someone out... when he did .. I could tell he wasn t happy to have to come out so late in the day....and then he told me all of my wiring needed replaced in a system that was barely 1 yr old... and Installed by this company! Needless to say I called the competitor... they came out following business day. they had the problem identified immediately and resolved in less than 1 hr with absolute professionalism! And I did NOT need my system required! It was a minor simple problem. I won t be using challenger for anything in the future. And now they expect me to pay for a service call that was a joke! I called to complain to management... they need to know what is actually happening in their company! They have not returned my call. Very disappointing.
