We rented the Avalon for the first week of June. The rental was very clean and well equipped.
The views of both the ocean and the channel are amazing! It was nice to have a table and chairs on the front porch. We also used the outside shower daily. The linens from Sweet Dreams that we re included with the rental were packaged and they also included kitchen towels which was a good idea.
My only recommendations would be to have more outside seating. There was only one chair on each of the upstairs decks. A good broom would have come in handy for sweeping sand.
I would definitely consider staying at the Avalon again.

We stayed at summer place. Loved the beach and the area around. Nice and quiet. Great for families.
The unit could use some TLC. The third floor master was so warm they had a portable unit that did not work. I called and could never reach the emergency contact. I was redirected over and over to the office. The main ac was working so we just ran a fan in that room. Never really was cool. We liked the unit in regards to view, proximity to beach and bedroom size.
The house just needs a good scrubbing. So much sand on the floors and under the couch and tables. Lots of clutter just lying around in the family room. The pantry had things all over the floors basically a cluttered mess. Cabinets( kitchen and bath) need cleaning inside. I don t know the cleaning service but a neighbor said they saw them come in and leave in 30 minutes. Definitely not doing a good job during covid!
Century 21 was easy to work with on my reservation. Shout out to Liz and CJ for excellent customer service. Just wish I could have gotten anyone else when I needed them on Sunday.
Will return to north topsail. Just not to the summer place.

Beware renting from this team. They were unresponsive and unapologetic to major issues we encountered during our stay.

Pro tip: If there is no picture of one of the rooms of your rental, assume it s sketchy.

Our family has vacationed at the Whaley (1314 Ocea...

Our family has vacationed at the Whaley (1314 Ocean Blvd) in Topsail for two years in a row. Last year the a/c went out and was repaired the following day, leaving us without air for one day. This summer we arrived Saturday and the a/c was nice and cool. By Sunday night it was completely out again. We called first thing Monday morning and someone FINALLY showed up late Monday afternoon. A part needed to be picked up in Wilmington and we were told they would be back Tuesday with the part. The rental company called Tuesday morning to say they would be following up with us shortly after talking to the a/c company. After not hearing, we followed up ourselves with the rental company around 5:00 and they just told us they didn t know anything and would call the a/c company and leave them a message, but we wouldn t hear anything until Wednesday morning. That s Sunday night to now Tuesday night with no air. It s been 90+ degrees and has been miserable. They did finally bring a few portable a/c units Monday night, but that does absolutely nothing to cool the main living space, only the bedrooms. We should NOT have to spend our vacation following up to ensure our house is livable.

My family and I stayed at the Over the Moon property last week and boy what the experience we had. On early Sunday morning around 3:00am my husband and I were woken by our bed breaking! Yes Breaking! And no it wasn't because of horsing around. After checking each other out to make sure we weren't hurt we moved the mattress from the broken bed and placed on floor to continue to sleep. Once we could fall back to sleep. So Monday morning I called the office at 9:00 and had to leave a message. At 10:00 I called again and spoke with Eric - explained what happened and ask to have it fixed by the end of the day so we could get a good nights sleep. Around 2:00-2:30 I had not heard from anyone so I called again and spoke to Amanda. She stated they were working on the situation with the bed but it looks as if it would not get fixed that day. She asked if the mattress could be placed on the floor and my husband and I could sleep there for the night. I did not take this well! She stated we were on a island and I had to understand things don't get repaired that fast. And let me tell you NO one and I mean NO one came all day to even look at the bed - my mother stayed in the house all day waiting for maintenance to come. So Amanda stated she would call me back before the end of the day and let me know the plans - well she did at 4:30 and guess what... yep we had to sleep on the mattress on the FLOOR. Good thing this was not my mother who is 80 years old sleeping on the floor. So the saga continued the next day... My sister spoke to Amanda the next morning and she was told the same and would you believe Amanda hung up on her. Finally around 9:30-10:00 employees from a local furniture store showed up with what... a metal frame to put the mattress on. If someone had of came the day before they would have realized this would not work because of the type of mattress it was and the broken bed frame! So back to the drawing board. Finally a maintenance person showed up with a long list of things that needed to be repaired. He said they wanted him to repair the bed and put the mattress back on. Well needless to say when you look at the pictures it was not fixable the frame had already split from a previous break, the slates at the ends were split where holes were stripped, etc. Again, we waited! Finally the employees from the furniture store showed back up with the metal bed frame and guess what else... a Box Spring! If Century 21 had of sent someone over the day before and realized the condition of the bed they would have known what needed to be done and it could have been resolved the first day. Now you are probably wondering what kind of compensation my family and I received for the inconvenience... None! Not even a sorry this has happened, kiss my butt or anything. Oh we inquired but we were told since we could put the mattress on the floor and sleep then we were not inconvenienced. NEEDLESS to say we will not rent from Century 21 again!!!

Our family has stayed at the Whaley House for the ...

Our family has stayed at the Whaley House for the last two years. And let s just say IT S going to be our last time here or with this company!!! We have 3 different sets of families that stay together in the house. Some of the families arrived Saturday afternoon and some arrived Sunday afternoon.
The A/C was working until Sunday night. We called century 21 first thing Monday morning and they told us that we would be top priority and would have someone there ASAP. Their ASAP is different from mine because the A/C company DID NOT show up until 4:00 in the afternoon!! (And did I mention we have 8 small children with us!) Once the A/C guy came he had to order the part for the unit and they would have to come back the next morning to fix the part on it. Well century 21 called us Tuesday morning telling us that someone would come first thing as soon as the part came in. Well we didn t hear from them anymore that day. We called century 21 around 5:00 and they told us that well we have to wait until Wednesday sometime . So this makes 3 nights and 2 days without A/C in 90+ weather! In my opinion if you want your renters to come back and rent from your company again, you would make their stay in YOUR HOMES as comfortable as possible!!

We booked our vacation through Century 21 Action; however, we were advised that property management was handed off to Treasure Realty. This review provides partial details about our recent stay on Topsail Island:

We recently spent a week on Topsail Island in a property managed by Treasure Realty. The townhouse we stayed in was infested with gnats and fruit flies to the extreme we could not eat indoors and we even had to cover drinks with plastic wrap while we were drinking them. We bought supplies at the grocery store and cleaned all five drains twice. We also set traps in the townhouse and literally caught hundreds!! I have pictures on my phone to prove it!!
Called Treasure Realty and spoke with Miranda. She sent an exterminator (Jeff) and he was of the opinion that all of the drains needed cleaned and degreased. Never heard another word and Miranda doesn t return my calls.
I have never had to spend so much time cleaning a property while I was on vacation just so I could do something as simple as eat or drink without being bothered by insects. I honestly feel like we should receive some sort of refund or credit for doing so much work.
The owners of this property need to know how poorly Treasure Realty is managing their property.
Also, I read the negative reviews and I see they are, at least, consistently bad. What a shame.

Second year of staying at the Whaley house. Second...

Second year of staying at the Whaley house. Second year of the A/C dying! The first time it was fixed the next day. This year it stopped working Sunday night and we are now into Tuesday evening and still down. We called first thing Monday morning. Repair guy showed up after 5 o clock and needed to order a part. Said it would be in the next day and he d be here Tuesday afternoon.

They did bring and setup 4 portable air conditioners but the main living space only has one window a unit can be hooked up to and it s buried in the kitchen so the unit can barely cool down the kitchen, much less the living room area.

It s now Tuesday evening and we just called Century 21 and were told that since it s after 5 o clock we likely won t see anyone until the following day. So that s at least 2 days and 3 nights with no A/C when it s 90+ degrees outside. In my opinion, a paying customer should not have to constantly call the real estate company for updates on air conditioning.

My family loved being right on the beach and the house(Gresham)was nice and cozy. The only suggestion I would recommend would be the bathroom and kitchen need an update. The shower is way too small and needs a face lift. Oh and one other suggestion I have is purchase newer mattresses. I have a bad back and I was in pain by the end of the week.
