Beautiful place to walk alone or with the family. Very calm, artistic and bohemian. Access to bars, cafes, restaurants and parks with games for children. Public parking, during the week, is very expensive, and on weekends you can only park for 2 hours. Except for that detail, Wellington's central port is a place worth visiting.
Shared passenger and cargo berths. Pedestrian traffic prohibited. No taxi rank nor other passenger facilities. Close to City.

If your cruise ship stops here. You can't walk outside without taking the bus or arranged tour. I think its temporary since the last earthquake destroyed the last one.
Needs more prominent signage for visitors, so you need to know where you are going or you will be driving around in circles.
I still wonder when we are going to repair this or build an actual dedicated cruise ship terminal. Whilst it's not unique to not be allowed to walk inside a working port, it is unique for such a major city not to have a functional terminal. It's actually kind of embarrassing for thousands of international visitors to be greeted to the capital city by timber, containers and imported vehicles jammed between cranes and silos.
I am giving one star because of the taxi company you work with! I gat ripped off ! This is very, very bad experience for me!
