Nice place to learn about various historical society
Great experience! The first Sunday of each month is free!
The no fun allowed Gallerie Des Enfants . My children were expected to play without making a mess - conforming to social niceties. I thought the Pompidou was a modern Art centre?
This is a brilliant piece of architecture, but is now showing its age a bit - it is crying out for some TLC.
The collection is very good, for modern art buffs.
If you have a "Paris Pass" it will only get you into the general collection, not the highlighted and advertised exhibitions.
As a family, it is also important to find places where children like to go around and where there are activities for them - it was there while we were there.
There was free access (the first sunday in md). And it was a nice experience to get through three floors, experience the creative escalator and the view.
Modern art: personally not a fan but if your into it the centre is quiet good. 4 stars as the toilets on the library level are out of sync with the rest of the building (theyre like public toilets)
Free entry first Sunday of the month. The view of Paris is not as spectacular as expected I think. Fortunately it was free. Pleasant museum.
Correct, because:
1 / thousands of people adore it, while
2 / personally, I don't like it at all.
So that's the politically incorrect note
Certainly the most complete museum of contemporary art in the world
Very interesting looking building, I didn't go inside, more likeed the structure from outside.
Fantastic modern collection and the contemporary exhibits we saw were also great
A good place for modern art. But the museums in London are better.
This was one of my favorite art museums. Be there early as they get busy. We were there at opening time and went right in. Had a good hr before it started getting busy. Nice restaurant. Beautiful place.
Since 2 years the stairs to reach the top of the museum are paying and at a prohibitive price. Culture is reserved for those who have a full wallet, which is far from being the case today.
Really loved this museum - think it is rather underrated
Great place to study... internet desk and huge place for students as well library and museum
A vast collection of contemporary art that is certainly worth a few hour visit.
Good museum. A one time visit. Can sirens about half a day here
Nice outside display. Haven't had time to visit the inside yet.
I have lots of fun, sometimes art is more than you expected.
Beautiful and easy to access: a collection of modern art as there are few. The part for children can be improved, indeed in my opinion it is neglected.
Very calm and peaceful at most times. Has a great bookstore and an amazing library.
One of the best museums in Paris. Great art collection (modern / contemporary), beautiful views of Paris. Try to go early to avoid queues.
Go to the top floor exhibitions and stay for the view.
Great contemporary art display space, interesting architecture
Everything was not bad, fountains were off which was a bit disappointing.
A great building! For young people it is completely free, I enjoyed as a child, perfect to take advantage of a whole morning
Bad side the queues, great once inside. Lots of nice and thought-provoking pieces.
It is a magical place, an architecturally peculiar building, rich in works of art, particularly interesting is the contemporary art section. The square in front is rich in life. The public library that is accessed from outside is fabulous.
I tell you, and I weigh my words "my mother's life is too stylish" as Georges said, my great grandfather he also added "sah what a pleasure".
I took my great grandfather there for his 97th birthday and saw the expressions he used he really appreciated.
Very interesting museum: it is easy to lose the perception of time while visiting the exhibition of modern art. The rooms offer a description (in French and in English) that help to put the artworks in context.
The view from the top is amazing and the architecture is to eye-catching. Yet the queue to enter the museum is extremely long and doesn't move quickly at all. We waited 30 minutes to get in, thankfully we went early and not at lunch time when it got really busy.
The art inside can't be commented on because that is of course a personal preference.
The National Center of Art and Culture Georges Pompidou in there is a musical and acoustic research center and The National Museum of Modern Art that has about 100,000 works of art, one of modern and contemporary art. More
We had an amazing time here, an unbelievable collection of modern art. Matisse, Picasso, Kandinsky, cubists, futurists, those sort of big names but also amazing works from newer and less well known artists. We spent hours here without even seeing the special exhibit and could have stayed longer if we hadn t gotten hungry! One word of warning is that there is a long line to get in, I would recommend showing up like 15-20 minutes before it opens to wait so you get in quicker. Also a cafe and boutique and bookstore.
One of the more characteristic buildings of Paris, a museum of modern art
It's hard to find the entrance. Even if you found it and not a single soul there. They will ask you go around the building to find the start of the line.
I am undecided: I know with what care, what concern, what talent, those responsible for the animation of the Center Pompidou enliven this place. But I am not used to the appearance (probably practical, because it releases the interior volume.) of this building with visible seams, like an inverted sock, of this monster of tubes and pipes. Obviously, it is very subjective: I do not accept the view of this "giant pylon" that is the Eiffel Tower.
To visit nonetheless: it is an aspect of our culture .. mixed with the '' functional '' inherited from the end of the 19th century until the 20th century .. in short: I don't like ...
Visit this Only if you are in modern art. And you have a lot of time.
I couldn't understand any of the artworks. It's not for me.
Great collection of modern art, one of my favourite museums in Paris
The best museum in all of Paris. All my personal favourites on display and the centre had a special workshop for children which my daughter enjoyed, they also have a lovely art inspired play area for children.Five stars all the way.
One of my favourite museums in Paris.
Love the architecture , the exhibitions and the collection
Interesting museum and a great view over Paris.
For people under 26 which are from the EU is the entry for free!
Great contemporary collection and we were lucky enough to go when there was a Magritte exhibition.
A classic for architecture lovers. Houses a superb gallery and a great shop. Absolutely worth a visit. A bit more of an enjoyable experience than the mentally busy Tour Eiffell.
It's a huge museum. You need time to see it through. Oportunity to see the most and less famous artist's work. I got hungry and hurried up through the last bit but I wish I could have spent more time. They have a restaurant in the terrace, shops. We arrived around 11 am and there was no cue. If you buy the tickets online it will be fast to get in.
Great experience, lots of work for the matisse exhibition
A special place that holds art, creativity, contemporaneity and history. Excellent architecture by Renzo Piano. Suggestive in its transparent structure, rich in geometries. Beautiful during the day and fascinating at night.
Inside there are 6 floors of works, laboratories, shows, screenings, library and bookstore, temporary exhibitions and all the best in contemporary world art. Absolutely not to be missed.
It is a very important cultural point for modern abd contemporary art. A visitor, vich is interest in culture cannot miss it. A part the art museum it also offers a place where children can learn and experiment by realizing their own manufacturers. Another worth noting faculty is the library
The first Sunday of every month many of Paris's museums are free entry. This is a great thing but it does mean you have to contend with queues and crowds. It didn't matter so much here though as the exhibition space is so large.
One of the most beautiful museums in Paris. Of course you have to love contemporary art because sometimes the exhibitions are strange and I'm not sure that visitors understand everything (me first) but the opposite of the old art, it's the perfect place for discover contemporary art.
Amazing museum but absolutely worst experience at the ticket office. Cashier returned an incorrect amount of change after the ticket purchase and was extremely rude after I pointed that out. She switched to French at the middle of conversation and refused to say a word in English. Very disappointed with this service, better buy tickets online.
I have visited both the museum and it s roof top bar. It is one of the best museums for Modern art lovers. You can see the evolution of modern art right from the end of Impressionism to the latest artists in modern and contemporary art. A person can roughly spend 2 to 3hrs taking your time and immersing yourself in the wide display at the Pompidou.
Attractions and space with terraces and a cappuccino. But of course ART. And Bacon.
The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art is so jarring with the Parisian setting as it is fascinating! If you love conceptual art, you're in the right place. The architectural work designed by the very young Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers is the most important masterpiece of the architectural current of "brutalism". The facilities and services are put on display. The square buzzes with street artists in the morning. Nearby there is also another more recent work by Renzo Piano in bricks and steel. The Stravinsky fountain on the side of the building is also fascinating. Too bad for cleaning the area ...
Modern, abstract, structural all these types of art here. All the classical stuff is at the louvre, Rodin, and others. Great space with some interesting exhibits. I believe the escalator itself was an art project.
The exhibitions are worth it, the place is intriguing enough to satisfy the need for escape, the only downside, the place being under construction we cannot yet completely contemplate the visual of the architecture. But the work only lasts a good time!
Amazing museum, but you have to wait soo long in line
For art lovers, a Parisian destination not to be missed
Magnificent place with airy spaces with good light to appreciate the many works at their fair value!
Quick entry if you already have your ticket.
Friendly staff, a bookstore provided ...
Take your time ... Or go in several times to avoid saturation.
Very cool experience. I can tell why people love it so much. I highly recommend all tourists and locals go sometime!
I liked the Pompidou center , but felt a little lost, didn't get much direction as where I could and couldn't go. But all in all its an interesting place. also it's free entry so that's always a bonus!
Superb museum
The guided tour is perfect: educational, clear and accessible to everyone
well done
One of the important massive sized cultural hub in Paris.
Exceptional collection of international modern Art in a high tech building. A must see!
With renovations and dirty exterior. Hard to get excited for this ground breaking architecture. The fountains were not working either.
Great free exhibit in this wonderful building. Fabulous views over Paris and a lot of 20C art as well.
Exhibitions, changeable exhibitions, the spirit of a bygone era in a modern interior. President Pompidou had a good idea.
