Great experience. You can see many Fauvism paintings, sculptures at floor 5 for permanent exhibitions. In a hidden corner at floor 4 there was a exhibition from a artist Cao Fei. The content is sensitive in China, the documentary seems absurd but so true. Well done.

Cultural center at the base for those who come to consult their works or exhibitions like me personally 40 years ago. But nowadays, the Pompidou Center has rather become a tourist trap which discourages us, we Parisians to set foot there again. Articles in the bookshop at exorbitant prices, snacks at excessive prices (although a very pleasant staff), gadgets certainly original in the shop but for which there is no desire to put your hand in the pocket. Too bad, mass tourism distorts these beautiful French sites.

Best contemporary art museum I ve ever visited. Gives MoMA a run for its money! You can t truly understand the grandeur of this place unless you are there yourself. Next time I am in Paris, I will be sure to visit Le Pompidou again. Also, if you re feeling peckish during your visit there, they have an AMAZING rooftop restaurant called Georges. The food is to die for, and so is the view. Do yourself a favor and visit this museum if you want to experience authentic Parisian culture without the swarms of tourists or the overpriced tourist traps.

Very original unusual building in a busy quarter. On the square in front of the center is crowded, always something interesting happens. Near metro station. Across the road begins an interesting Marais quarter.

This building is the home of a library and a couple of bookshops and the modern art museum. I was impressed by the collection of modern art. It had a lot of important works. But the building itself was cool. All that makes the building work is exterior to the structure. You can see how the elevators work, for example. Its pretty cool.

The Pompidou has both Modern and Contemporary Art. Special exhibits are on the lower floors. The research library is on the third floor and the collection, which may also be curated into particular shows is on the 4th and 5th floors. The escalators you see on the outside of the building take you to the higher floors and the sculpture terraces which are part of the collection, but also one of the best ways to see the city as a whole. Tickets are sold on the first floor to the left of the staircase. You can get tickets to all exhibits or just the ones you are interested in. The gift shop is dangerously good, from skateboard decks to high end accessories, children's toys and clothes to shopping bags, there is something for everyone you need a gift for when you go home! I can't recommend the experience more and don't miss the Niki de St Phalle fountain just south of the museum.

Worst layout for a public building ever, convoluted entry ways with expansive halls leading to galleries that you may or may not enjoy. Came to see and respect art, but instead was lost in a maze of lines and stairways.

COOL,CONTEMPORARY, CRAZY and ultimately AMAZING!

COOL,CONTEMPORARY, CRAZY and ultimately AMAZING!

Recently wandering past the extraordinary and famous international masterpieces representing the George Pompidou contemporary, modern and graphic design collections I lent an ear to some foreign critics discussing,- whilst also photographing and scribbling.

One was talking about works by Danish Sonja Ferlov Mancoba. Another was on the subject of Takesada Matsutani s spiritual and organic forms. They compared artistic brilliance and importance.

Each passed in front of out of the box and seriously off the wall designs that looked like 30 sheep piled on top of each, graffiti scribbles on a wall in Amsterdam, or a pile of plastic with some multi-coloured string attached and super well-stuck together with thick glue.

(Longing to see the chinese version in Shanghai.. Will there be designs in the shape of dragons made of soja bottles and flashing neon lighting? A little soft touch of music from traditional chinese instruments; sound remixed with Vanessa Paradis ever-magical french song Joe le taxi and his embouteillaGes ? )

Finally their gazes fell on some rocks reminding us of our prehistoric ancestors living quarters. Captain Caveman here we come.

They could have sunk into the actual painting and become one with it. After all is not the artist at one with his or her masterpiece?? I imagine the critic tries to get this feeling too.

Wunderbar!, Brava! Oh la la comme c est belle..! Fantastic!.. I would like that in my home , Colourful , Expressive Intuitive Literary Man that s crazy Bloody love it ! That s so weird . They must have smoked! I hate that I love this one.. It looks like my grandmother s hairstyle!

The other lot..the ado's, all looked like they had partied all night with wild hair and sneakers and they were also extremely busy.

Selfies in front of the WEIRD, the WONDERFUL and the WHACKY!

Five boys with one girl who looked seriously fed up. She was definitely straight out of the latest Grazia makeup blog for pouting pros with perfect lipstick and she had that famous boude boudy look that makes them all millions overnight.

Each took photographs with funny and totally crazy expressions, half of them upside-down. They all made faces that resembled something out of the film Gremlins or perhaps the original Tarzan after he has swung through the jungle several times.

Their wild hair from the night before and their Amazon Rainforest animal looks in jaguar, panther and zoo-based shirts were obviously perfect to woo the hopeful girlfriend to be in the bar somewhere in Paris. Maybe they were part of a seriously trendy youtube video?

The critics group looked quite tired from all their photos, notepads and hard days reflection. They were surely, slowly and definitely on the way up to the bar on the top floor.

Paris..The city of love. The city of life. The city of light.

Bicycles, bars and bonjours.

Wonderful, strange, colourful, without inhibition, exhibiting movement, Brancusi influenced.. Bizarre, pure, meaningful,, dynamic...

Whatever you may think about these famous works they all evoke a reaction.

Whatever material they are made from .

Whatever inspiration they are created from .

Whoever made them ..

Whichever culture defines them...

These curious, magical and certainly inspirational works all impress each of us and create a thought process. A thought. An opinion. Of course a feeling.

This is Art.

The Pompidou centre is one of the most incredible places in France.

The place is a good construction for modern art. From outside it looks like a human maze with it's huge pipelines sort of things everywhere (they even come out of the ground). Inside, it was warm/cold depending on the area you're in, some parts are exposed to the outside so before leaving your coat downstairs think about that. The art exhibited in the museum varies from simple monocolored works to very complex paintings and sculptures. Several great works are exhibited and some of the great artists names as well. I loved the place and I believe anyone visiting Paris should consider having a look there.

Obviously unavoidable ... tiring if you want to see everything ("08h in my case). The expos are remarkable. The modern gallery, imposing. The history is very interesting and informative. The contemporary art gallery can be puzzling in the choice of works. Very uneven.
I would have put 5 * if the prices of the cafeteria were exorbitant and then the timeline and per artist is outdated and tiresome.

The Pompidou centre is a must see in Paris, the building itself should be on the checklist of people interested in modern structures. It is the first 'inside-out' building in architectural history.
I could not help but check out the space dedicated to Brancusi. If you are familiar with his work and life, you will most definitely like it. Plus the area around is hip and has lots of bars and restaurants and vibrates with life.

From the stunningly peculiar exterior to the energy and trendy appearance found within, Centre Pompidou now holds the top spot in my list of favorite art museums. I was only able to visit the Modern Art museum floor due to my 2-hour limit before the closure of the centre; however, I was able to view and learn about content I had been excited to see. There is an ample collection of Kandinsky's - which I loved! The staff I encountered could have been a little friendlier, but I understand all people have long days. The boutique and librarie had quality items available for purchase, although some were a little costly. If I find myself in Paris again, I will be sure to make it back to view the Cubism and Contemporary art floors. The energy here was just too good.

Were in galleries on two floors - modern and contemporary art. Met beloved Larionov and Goncharova, Matisse, Malevich, Kandinsky. Many watched with pleasure, many smiled. In any case, this is art and it has a place to be. There are many halls, exhibits and paintings are arranged and hung correctly, we liked it.

Mah! What to say? Apart from the works of the usual known, even among the best, excluding some excellent exception, a wonderful collection of "art" (in quotes and with a small a). Do they want to convince me that this is art? Well, they will not succeed. Most of the "works" on display is a crazy crap of fantozziana memory. These are agreements between pseudo-critics and self-styled artist to be able to sell rubbish. One more star for the structure, that's worth it. If you want modern art, go to the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome. Or, do not visit it before seeing the Pompidou, do it later. I add photos of the best I've seen.

One of the most important collection of contemporary and modern art in the world. The building itself made the story of architecture, the provocative high tech design by Piano, Rogers supported by Arup engineers was seen as alien within the context of the surroundings. However it became soon iconic and help to vitalise the area with its front open square. Features of the buildings include the super high elevator stairs, the exposed services, the trusses supporting the floor (called "gerberettes", bespoke cast steel elements) which allow thanks to tensioned ends to span a long way with reduced depth and no internal intermediate columns. Inside a permanent collection (which rotates every six months) and at least a couple of temporary ones. Tickets allow you to see all the exhibition and also get out (check the restaurants around) and come back in.

Modern and contemporary art at its finest. The museum layout seems to go from classic art to slightly more modern, and then very contemporary and abstract. It really shows the range of how art is portrayed. There are paintings, objects, sculptures, and plenty more of pieces of art. I would definitely recommend half a day to a day to explore all of the exhibitions here to fully absorb it all.

The Pompidou center is a place of culture that welcomes all kinds of talents.
A little disappointed with the current Cristo exhibition. Indeed, the exhibition is concentrated in Paris.
Too bad ... the packaging of the various objects other than monuments were in my opinion less interesting.
I still recommend going to Beaubourg!
