Great place to go hiking with friends and/or with your dog! I went with a friend and a dog and had a blast. There tends to be a lot of spider webs early on but the farther you get, the less you encounter if at all.

Regardless it's a great place to go and the view in areas throughout the trail make the hike worth it! The pond they have wasn't all the great; however, it was very calming and relaxing since it was so quiet in that area.

Highly recommend this place to go hiking!

Great variety of flat trails and trails with elevation. Benches about every tenth of a mile. Ample parking, and very busy too. Donations are suggested but not required.
Some of the trails are very Rocky and steep so be prepared!

Beautiful way to spend an afternoon. We picniced at one of the many outdoor picnic tables- so pretty! & walked in the like marked trails- very easy, certain spots have been paved with wood chips. The bathroom was really clean & there's even a water fountain. I didn't expect it to be so nice & accommodating! We had a perfect day!

Great hiking, beautiful landscape, safe and very clean. Some of the trails are a bit narrow. Best to get there early to avoid the crowds. Early weekday mornings are best, weekends are very crowded and parking is difficult.

Cedar ridge is the best place to hike in the DFW area. There are over 12 Miles of well-maintained trails of varying difficulty. Trails are for foot traffic only, so you won't have to worry about bikes. Dogs on leashes are welcome, and they have poop bags available at the main entrance, next to the trail map. In wet weather, the fossil valley trail is usually closed... It gets very muddy. A donation of 3 dollars is requested each time you visit.

Take a hike! Great park for some moderate distant hikes with varying difficulty. Some of the elevation changes are quite challenging, and will leave your legs sore the next day. Arrive early if you would like an onsite parking spot. Trails are all very well maintained, and very clean.

This is one of the best places to hike around the Dallas area in my opinion. There's enough of a change in terrain to make sure you get in a good hike and plenty of options for paths to take.

Beautiful hiking trail. Typically we come and walk just to see the wonders of nature, but today we chose to take another approach, one that many other visitors take regularly: Treating the trails like a workout. And let me tell you, with the ups and downs, twists and turns, we got everything we bargained for and more! It was relatively hot and humid but that didn't take anyth ok ng away from the scenery as we took long strides up and down seemingly endless hills!

There are different trails that vary in distance, so for those looking for a quick stroll there are shorter, less intense routes. There are also ways to branch from one route to another at certain points if you want to extend or shorten your trip. From what I understand there are campsites on the grounds for overnight rental, which I could imagine would be a lot of fun, especially for kids.

Overall this is a great, well kept preserve. We'll definitely continue visiting in the (near) future!

Had a great time today at the trails. Took my aunt hoping she would give it another chance after her last experience. And she loved every bit of it except people weren't stretching right and ended up falling so we had to step around them. That was kind of a drag but otherwise it should be 4 stars now

Beautiful place to walk and hike, I recommend this to people that are bored at home and have nothing else to do. There is some poisonous snakes there but it's fine they come out a night so you might want to go all the way down and there is many trails, and luckily nobody got hurt, and we didn't see any snakes, stay safe.

Cedar Ridge Preserve has awesome trails with a variety of terrain and great volunteers maintaining the trails. Parking can be very crowded on weekend mornings. These are the best trails that I have found in Dallas County for hiking.

One of the very best place in the South Dallas area for hiking! There are scenic views of the surrounding hills and lake. The trails range from short to long with an excellent view! Autumn and Spring is the best time to visit to see the colorful leaves and nature

Love the trail options and how it connects to each other. A lot of scenic overlook. My kids 6, 10, and 12 love it. Catail pond is the best. Butterfly garden at the front gate is lovely on relaxation after ending a few miles.

I was able to walk all the trails available and I would highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a true wilderness getaway in the Dallas City Limits. It s rated #1 by D Magazine and it truly has a diverse landscape of people, animals, trees, topography and land use.

Love going here for walks! It helps to visit their website and screenshot the map or download it. I have gotten confused while on the trail and having the map on my phone helps. The trails are nice and everyone tends to mind their own business.

A nice getaway from the traffic ridden Downtown Dallas. Between all the commuters and construction, this place is a nice way to spend some alone time in nature and still be back home for dinner. The butterfly gardens were particularly active when I went. Trails are kid and pet friendly and easy to follow. Definitely recommending this for anyone wanting to get out more.

Cedar Ridge Preserve has challenging trails that are pet friendly and great for trail running! The fact that the park is free (donations welcome) is what lured me here. Parking can get tight on the weekends, but once you are on the trail, you may only encounter a few people. I regularly take my dog on runs along the trails and he loves it. The only complaint I have is regarding fellow dog owners not cleaning up after their pups. Perhaps the city could install pet waste stations at the head of the trail to encourage proper clean up? That being my only real issue, I would highly recommend Cedar Ridge Preserve to anyone looking for an escape from the bustle.

Wonderful place to walk and exercise outdoors, especially in the mornings 6:30 am is the best time to be on time because the parking lot fills up very quickly and do not forget to leave your donation of $ 3 dollars at the entrance, it is really worth it

Although this location has become very popular on the weekends and most times the traffic on the trails is almost to the point of being congested. This location is well maintained and has been recently updated. The hikers here have all been friendly in our experience and pet owners seem to be reasonably responsible and respectful to other hikers along the trail. It's a great place to step out of the city and immerse yourself in nature.

This is one of those hidden gems in the DFW area. The trails are well maintained, and there are never any crowds. In my opinion, the hiking trails here are far better than the ones at the state park across the highway. Sure, you don't get the lake view, but the scenery and location well make up for it.
