The bird watching is great. The trails are fantastic. And the bike trail is a lot of fun!

This was a lot of fun! I was able to see quite a few birds that we do not have in Georgia. However, when we went a couple paths were flooded or too muddy to walk on. I hope to return on my next trip to Texas.
Dallas is not exactly known for its nature, but the Audubon Center is a natural gem right outside the city. Come for a visit and walk through the wetland habitats. Try to spot as many birds as you can, and maybe even a turtle or too! A fun place to go relax for a couple hours away from the city.
It's very small, but the staff are very friendly and the view of the Trinity is very nice
Held a wedding here over the weekend and loved the view, architecture, and purpose of the center. It offers a lot for a cool field trip for 5th graders, and a private event for us adult-folks.
Serene and lovely... Peaceful walking paths and a beautiful restoration of 120 acres formerly used for illegal, commercial dumping. The modern architecture is stunning, as well!
Wonderful, clean facilities. Staff was very knowledgable - my kids and I learned so much! Worth the drive!
Get outside! This place can hep. Lots of trails and decent views considering how close it is to the city. Check it out!
Great place to walk around for a few hours. Take your time and keep your eyes and ears open. Saw a great white egret and a blue heron in the ponds, some hawks soaring high, and what I think was a red tanager that darted out of the trees in a flash.
Awesome place to a explore nature period nice rest spots and a gift shop
I was working an event here, super friendly staff. It really made my job easier! Tha k you all!!!
It was late summer and hot and dry and too late in the morning when they opened at 9 to see anything other than a few wading birds. However, I found they have a parking lot outside the gates, so you can arrive really early and see some activity that you would otherwise have surely missed by the time they opened at 9 on Sunday.
The visitor center was AC cooled and had a nice interpretation center inside.
Beautiful scenery, lots to see, clean walk trails.
Beautiful venue I love photographing weddings and engagements there
Hiking there is not as big as arbor hills or cedar ridge preserve. We went through all the paths in half hour or less.
But it's a beautiful place your can see Trinity River
The land and trails are nice but the educational area of the building is a little rundown. Many of the exhibits were broken.
Great to see places like this in Dallas. There should be more education on when the best time of year to visit are otherwise with no birds = walk in the park. With birds = lots of fun
Beautiful place, I highly recommend attending. The receptionists are really nice!
Visited this place on a field trip with my daughter. It's a little jungle in the middle of Dallas, who knew?
Its nice to see this kind of Trinity River
..a must see! We thoroughly enjoyed it
Gray place to see wildlife . Enjoyable day trip. Family oriented
The owl prowl experience was great! I enjoyed going out into the forest at night and listening for owls. We got lucky on our Great Horned Owl call and heard Barred Owls responding. It was awesome and exciting. Afterwards we enjoyed a fire and roasted marshmallows.
Nice but I would like it hippy would made our field trip
Great nature center with a lot of trail options. Love to explore.
Beautiful little slice of nature near Dallas. Wildlife, birds chirping, and wonderful Texas wild flowers abound.
This is my Oasis from the city. I advise staying on the Audubon side of the the trail. The trail is broken into 3 parts. The first or last half the side connected to (Joppa Preserve) connected to a park and picinc area should be avoided. The 2nd half is the wetlands. Opening to a pond and plain. Plenty of birds, insects, and yes snakes. The entrance to the trail closest to the Audubon center is my favorite. The trail takes you through tress with bends and bridges. Spiders and other insects pop out at you. I prefer this trail it provides shade and is the longest of the three parts
I love how my kids do not realize they are learning and doing science while they are here! There are also beautiful natural scenery and walks and we love taking advantage of the programs and special events out there.
I love this nature preserve so much because the hiking trails are always an adventure. They also have kayak adventures on the river. To top it off, there is a nearby bicycle trail.
Wow, what a great place to get back to nature and feel like a human being again. So many great things to see and do!!
$6 per adult. There's also a Groupon for bird watching and a season pass. Bring old shoes as it was muddy. Pretty place. Great for newbie. Paths aren't wheelchair accessible except right at beginning.
This place is a great little escape from the Dallas bubble! Trails are easy to follow and the exhibits teach a lot about the history of the site and science of the river and flood plains
Beautiful facility within the city. My friend held his wedding reception here and we had an amazing time. Great location, space, and scenic view for people who want to have events that leave an impression!
Always a nice peaceful experience. Staff is always personable.
Wonderful serene escape in the middle of the city. Great family-friendly hiking trails (easy for children to walk) and an engaging educational center to inform visitors about how the Audubon Center came to exist. Once you visit you'll be sorry you didn't visit sooner. Best bird-watching happens in the early morning. Staff is friendly and well-informed.
This place is perfect for bringing children because the paths are not too strenuous, the wildlife is awesome, and the views are beautiful! Love to come here with my family.
Fantastic location. The nature is beautiful and the people are so kind. The wildlife in the area is plentiful. Will be back a million times more.
Nice nature spot for and butterfly watch
Also great place for wedding venues
If you are a nature lover, you should definitely visit this place.
If you want to take you and your kids too or walk in the park and to learn about the great habitats and the Beautiful olive oil it's a lot of things you know about the Earth and so on and so on but I recommend you got to be a great to express for you to take you and your family
Enjoyed walking the trail. Worked out great with a stroller. We saw butterflys, lizards, & turtles. Beautiful!
Love this place. Fantastic short trails that make you feel like you re hundreds of miles from the city and a beautiful wedding venue.
Beautiful location and building. Surrounded by natural beauty I attended a wedding here so I did not get to fully appreciate the area or the offerings, but I would go back without hesitation!
How far if you go all the way to the Dowdy Ferry park?
The nature is pretty, but there were GIANT SPIDERS! I am very afraid of them.
It was a great place to visit. Definitely recommend taking sun screen and bug spray. The trails are nicely marked. Before starting the trail there was a sign with possible sightings of snakes, hogs, and coyotes. Luckily everything went smoothly! Definitely recommend if you like bird watching or just love the wilderness :) This is not the place if you don't like bugs lol
My internship during the summer of 2013 was great . I had the best time with everyone there and they helped me with the best experience I have ever had ! Hope to come back this summer
This was a great facility. I had no idea it was here until I stumbled upon the reference on a plaque at The Perot Museum
Nice place. The girls were there for a field trip through the Perot Museum for part of the Junior Master Naturalist program.
Does anyone know if it is paved or stroller friendly?
Wish I could have explored more while attending the wedding but will definitely make a trip back! Beautiful event and clean facilities.
Great place to visit or go for a walk on the trails.
Fun place to get out and explore some trails that lead to the river.
WONDERFUL area and the staff is amazing as well. 5/5 highly recommended
Kids attended a summer camp. The camp was awesome but I can't review the center. Gave 4 stars because parking is a pain and the building could use signed saying this way to entrance. We had no idea where to go.
Had so much fun! They took the time to answer all of my questions!
Some nice/short trails, but much less to see inside the buildings
The beautiful nature has been preserved well in this place. There is a lot to see in here such as birds, owl, trees, grass, and many more. The trails are clean, and the entry fee is reasonable. We will come back soon!
Love the intention of this 120+ acre nature preserve, built on an illegal landfill that now is contained and has honeybees on it! The wild birds and the vista views are breathtaking. Dallas is so fortunate that people like TRAC are investing in our children's children's future. Blessings!
This site is a great place to take a break, get out and enjoy nature without traveling out of town. It's especially amazing to thinking about and experience when you learn the history of the site as an illegal dumping ground. The trails are all well marked and in great shape, even despite all the rain the area had been having. None of them were too difficult either. It was a nice way to spend a couple of hours.
It's a educational place to visit especially for kids. They have a souvenir store too.
This is an under-appreciated gem. An oasis in Dallas, unlike any other place we can call ours.
Very beautiful place to learn about the Trinity River and how it contributes as a lifeline to Dallas. A little out of the way from the city, but if you love hydrology it is worth a visit. If not, I probably wouldn't come all the way out here.
Over priced!
Brought 3 kids here and after bring charge entry fees all the exhibits where broken or just missing. There no reason to pay to hike. #freehike
Great place for birdwatching, hiking and being outside. Friendly staff will help make your visit great.
Great experience, the guided tour was very informative and entertaining. Thanks for the great community asset.
Walked the free paths, for the center paths it is $6 for adults and $3 for children
Amazing to go from an illegal dumping ground to a wonderful nature preserve. Well designed.
