Fantastic location. Beach houses have fireplace, kitchen, Jacuzzi, terrace, private beach and super fast, free internet via Wi-Fi - but only inside. On the terrace the connection quality decreases rapidly. Too bad that there is no gym and that the ventilation in the room is too loud. How I met your mother - fans should be told: yes, this is exactly the hotel!

We had a Sunday brunch here and it was beautiful. Sweeping lawn with the best view of the Newport Bridge and Jamestown. Also a place to enjoy a cocktail in the adirondack chairs on the lawn to see the sunset.

Wonderful presentations, incredible use of flavors in the sauces, and the chowder was incredible. Hard to hit the nail on the head as perfectly as they did with the chowder. And when you have a view that captures the pure essence of newport, it truly does make for a remarkable meal. Being a former employee, I can attest to the effort the kitchen puts in. It is truly reflected on the plates.

Haven't had lunch or dinner here in years and when I did it was always top notch, but sitting outside on the lawn for cocktails & apps is wonderful! The view is spectular! Its a short walk down the path to the Castle Hill Lighthouse.

This place is absolutely amazing! The views were spectacular! They had the most amazing lobster roll I have ever eaten! If you are ever in Rhode Island you should definitely go here for drinks, lunch or dinner. They even have cottages & rooms in the castle.

Where else can you go during a pandemic and feel safe and so "at home"? The beach cottages/houses are a perfect place to physically distance from the rest of the world with breathtaking views and the best room service menu available anywhere. The staff and property felt clean and safe and the extensive Covid-19 protocols were followed consistently throughout our stay. After more than 10 years of return trips, all we can say is thank you once again Castle Hill for a wonderful time!

For weddings? Pray it doesn t rain. The tent leaks. Badly. Mediocre catering. No wedding arch for the ceremony if it s indoors. Hardly Worst wedding I ever attended. And probably cost the most. Staff was snooty. Tent was sweltering and humid.

I had a situation with the valet and they handled it so poorly. They went so far as to trash talk me and my father once they realized it was us who walked by them after our meal. If this happened to us, it s probably happened before.

I made a reservation to dine while I was traveling and took my son with me. I did understand that outside seating was full but our hostess put us in the very back corner, leaving us staring at the back of a waiter station wall inside after passing 7 tables closer & within close view of the windows. When I went back to inquire I was told that ALL of those tables were available to be sat at and we were given no explanation as to why we were intentionally shoved in the corner with nothing and no one else around. I did noticed much of the outside dinning was open & inquired about sitting outside. I was told that was no possible. Over the course at the hour we dined I noticed that most of those tables never had any of the supposed guests show up & sit at the tables. More then a dozen seats sat empty the entire time. During my three encounters w/ the hostess she was fairly arrogant & it seemed very apparent she didn't care too much about helping us (small short female w/ short dark hair). Our waitress was very polite (Rachel I believe) but my encounters with other employees, especially the hostess were less then enjoyable. I placed a call the following day as I was trying to enjoy the day with my son & I didn't want to spend anymore time on the matter at that time. A manager did call me back but it was not the overall manager. I requested a call from them but never got a call back.

We be been coming here for the past 10+ years. It became a family tradition. We always had a great time. The views, food and service were impeccable. This year, service has gone down the drain - both for the restaurant and hotel. We ve been here twice in the past month. First time, we thought we just had a few sour apples with the hotel staff who need attitude adjustments when guests are placing orders for room service. We felt like we were bothering them every time we called to place an order. Second time, we went for dinner and had to wait 40 minutes to get a bottle of wine, over an hour for food, and pretty much served ourselves for everything else (getting up to ask for water, pouring our own drinks, etc.)
It s a shame that this is what the place has become. Management needs adjustment.

Amazing experience! One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The view, knowledgeable and pleasant staff, the food and the special surprises for my birthday (cake and a jar of jam). Then truffles to end the night... Can't wait to go back!

I was here for a wedding, and it was absolutely beautiful. The overlook was breathtaking and the staff attentive and professional. The only weird thing was the bathrooms were really hard to find and small.

I think the house was built in the 1800's. It really has kept itd character and does depict a house built back in the day. Its awesome if you like thag thing, could be potentially outdated and rundown if you dont. It has a receptoon hall that is hard to describe. And hard to compete with. When you're on the dance floor, the view is incredible. Its you and the water. Incredible water presence that you are able to become a part of. Overall I dig the place hard. Its probably worth the price but still considering what one day celebration should really cost.

Performed a wedding here last night (6/12/15) the venue is simply picture perfect. My Job for the evening was split in 3 parts, ceremony, Cocktail hour and dinner hour. Which were in 3 separate locations. So I had to get there early. upon arrival which was a little behind due to Friday Traffic and construction, I walked in and asked for who was in charge(due to the fact that the wedding coordinator never contacted me as they were supposed to. I was pointed in the direction of a stairwell where a gentleman and lady were having a discussion. Being in a hurry to get my timeline and setup plan, I politely excused myself and introduced myself as the singer for the Ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and I needed to know where to set up as the Bride (who I work at her pleasure). wanted me ready to go at 5PM. It's now 3:40 and the lady excused me and told me to wait outside. I explained again the timing i had, and she again excused me to go outside and wait! Though you don't work for the venue, they consider anyone there who doesn't work for then as "venders" and it totally makes life easier to "get along" with them. But I also have a Bride who has been planning her special day for over a year. But I went outside as I was told. 15 minutes later the gentleman came out and he did apologize and asked to start over, whichh of course I did. But thank God the other lady wasn't working this wedding. other then one other little mis step from a staffer (I am very strict with the needs of my client) the night went off very well.. Sans the woman, Castle Hill inn is an amazing spot for a wedding!
