Awful experience. I just rang to arrange a viewing on a 9 bedroom house in Chamberet, Limousin Cle France have for sale.

A male answered the phone. I politely explained I ringing regarding the above property. I was met with a sharp response of "do you have a reference number?". Which after checking both Zooplankton and Rightmove there is no reference number listed which really surprises me as the male asked for it in such an expecting manner. I explained I didn't but gave him the price of the property being 99,000. I then asked how many 9 bedroom houses in Chamberet they have for sale. It's a pretty reasonable question considering the way in which the male seemed to be having difficulty finding the property. I can find the same property within 5 seconds doing a google search...if it's that difficult to find the property using their own search why not just google search it like I did?!?

The male then went on to ask me "why do you have to have such an attitude?". Absolutely gobsmacked! I then asked if he was the owner of the business and he put the phone down on me?!?

I rang back to ask to speak to someone else. I was transferred through to Sharon, the owner, who told me I had been (rather conveniently) on speaker phone during my original call and she had heard how I was very rude, horrid and had an attitude?!? She then went on to say the make I spoke to was her husband David and that they knew the owners of this property very well and they wouldn't put up with my behaviour and once again put the phone down on me.



I am absolutely gobsmacked and extremely disappointed as I was very much looking forward to arranging a viewing of the property.

A rapid, knowledgeable and personable service led by experienced professionals who make buying a property in France a pleasure.

Awful experience. Abrupt and impatient male answers phone and demands to know reference despite giving him the full address and description of property.

I asked him if he could provide me with more information about the property and he said he couldn't and I would have to wait for Sharon to get back and that I had sent the request for info 2 days prior and in so many words, why am I hassling him and what is the problem in waiting a few more days!

Silence down the phone, he then starts to cross examine me, on why I am looking in so many areas of France, in a sarcastic tone!! , I was then told I am passive/aggressive, when I politely pointed out that my search is my business. This is coming from someone who is looking to cream off 7% of a sale of a property.

Cle France, please remove me from your email alerts. I will use your competitors in the UK and France who demonstrate excellence in customer service.

Good manners can go a long way and once again you have lost another buyer for your clients, due to your igorance, aggressive telephone manner and lack of respect to your customer base.

Always helpful. I have had several occasions to use the services of Cle France and have found their contacts and knowledge of the property market in Normandy and the Mayenne to be first class. I find the weekly newsletter informative and commentary on subjects such as exchange rates potentially helpful.
I would have no hesitation in recommending making contact with Cle France to anyone looking to sell or purchase property in France.

Disgusting attitude, extremely rude.
After 5 months they write a reply to my review?
They say that I refused to leave any details, if that is correct they may have me confused with another of their disgruntled clients, especially after 5 months.
In my case I just asked for advice and verbal information on any suitable properties that met my criteria as I am often miles from the internet.
This is the only agent that proceeded to insult me and call me names for no reason, I am not the only person this guy has upset, read the reviews on here and elsewhere!
This guy thinks that the sale of my property in London would not raise enough money to buy something in France???
I don t want to buy a Chateau, a 4 bedroom house as I have in London would be fine, away from city life, but he says that I can t afford it?

When we first looked at buying our House { Renovation Project } in France, we gave Sharon and David several criteria and an area to investigate for properties for us to visit and consider.

I have just bought a property through Cle France, and I have been supported right through the process the whole time, I have had no issues or problems at anytime throughout the whole buying process. I thoroughly recommend anyone thinking of a move to France to go through cle france. I also took onboard their recommendation to use Key Currency to buy the house they were also highly competant, they converted and transfered my funds through to the notaire without a glitch and also acted at the last moment with due haste. After many years of research and dreaming about a property in France we decided to do something about and spent two seperate weeks in France viewing properties. The first trip did not meet much on our "wish list" so we looked for More

Don't bother. Unreliable information about important features of french properties. We asked if one of their properties had a fosse that conformed with regulations only for Sharon to tell us "i think you'll find most fosses require work - so budget on 6000 euros +" ... only to find that the property (visited through a French agent) had a fosse that conformed... and we ended up buying it. If we'd listened to clefrance we wouldn't have even visited it (as indeed we didn't with them ...). Having bought 7 properties over the years we'd say go for a local French agent every time ... **UPDATE following management response ** : Just because you can t find a record of an exchange does not mean it did not take place it did. To be honest, going by the aggressive tenor of your responses to other negative reviews, I feel I ve got off lightly ! As Tripadvisor advise businesses : negative reviews give a business the opportunity to demonstrate their client focus, their understanding that clients don t always see things as you do and in so doing reassure potential clients that if they experience any difficulties you will respond in a helpful a helpful, reasonable and understanding way. The tenor of your responses to negative reviews says more (to potential buyers and sellers) than all your positive reviews combined !

I contacted Cle France regarding a property in France, I received no reply about the property, but I did receive a phone call from a currency's selling company. This was annoying, as I specifically un-ticked the box on their enquiry form, saying I did not want contact from currency exchange providers. I object to my data, phone number and address being sold to these companies. I will not be dealing with Cle France for the purchase of a property. Please Get your priorities and permissions right Cle France, this is not acceptable. The ICA will receive a copy of this review.
*Update* In response to my review I received an email from Sharon with an implied threat that I should remove my review as she regards it as defamatory.
The facts stand, I received a call from a currency broker in response to an enquiry I made to this company, as Sharon concedes this sort of data sharing is unethical and illegal.
I'm sure some people get great service from this company and maybe they made a mistake in setting a currency broker on my trail..
