Castle Hill Inn - Relais & Chateaux Review

Castle Hill Inn is set on a stunningly lovely and quiet part of Newport, yet it is near to Mansions and dining/shopping. I stayed at one of their beach houses which had been recently refurbished and was very comfortable. The beach house's deck was steps from the water with a small but pristine private beach area. Mother's Day luncheon was quite enjoyable and service was spot on - from the front desk to the restaurant to room service. The views from every place on the estate are spectacular. A facial in the Mansion itself was soothing and well done. So you might wonder why I did not give it 5 stars? It's all in the details. The food was good but simple. If you are a foodie, better dining is available in town. While the beds were incredibly comfortable, they were at thigh high level and the bathroom makeup mirror was mounted at approx. 6 feet - not very practical. There were also some housekeeping issues which surprised me because for the most part, the inn's facilities and room were very clean. However, the microwave had not been wiped down after a red juice had obviously exploded inside along with a glass with lipstick stain on the nightstand and a plate placed in the kitchen cabinets which was visibly wiped and returned to the cabinet without cleaning. I always wash all glasses whenever I am in an hotel but these were a few too many instances for this caliber of inn. Thankfully, the rest of the stay, location and services were just wonderful so I still recommend the place. (And, one last suggestion, if you run the dishwasher - which along with the refrigerator was not refurbished), do so when you are leaving because it is loud! )

Out of this world, stress destroyer.
Spend as much time as possible at this place. Take advantage of every opportunity you've got, you're not going to regret it.!!!

LOVE this restaurant! A 'must' on my yearly vacation, the view is worth it. The Lobster Roll is to die for. The Charcuterie is wonderful too.

Expensive. Went there for lunch. One drink, one app., two $17 sandwiches. $80 before tip.

The perfect respite. Ocean views, accommodations, dining, wine list, all five star, and an orientation to service that borders on simply perfect. Truly "MUST experience".

The location was absolutely stunning! Especially during sunset, the whole Inn glows a warm pink from the outside and the golden beams of sunlight streaming through the windows of the dining room complement the cool blues of the ocean outside so beautifully! The spa staff are friendly and the decor seems a bit dated but I personally think it adds to the charm of this inn.

We hosted our wedding on October 29, 2020 at Castle Hill Inn and then stayed in their luxurious bridal suite. The booking process was exciting and Stephanie kept us so well-informed, answering all of our questions. The entire staff before and during the wedding were very attentive and aware of COVID restrictions and were so respectful to each of our guests. Maria helped take all the weight off our shoulders on the day of. As a wedding planner myself, it was unimaginable to depend on another person to setup and execute our day, but Maria and her team did so flawlessly. We couldn't have asked for a better fairy tale wedding day and the icing on the cake was to be able to stay in the bridal suite that evening as well. Castle Hill Inn was well worth every dime spent for the best day of our lives!

Definitely a must when visiting Newport in season. Dinning on the patio and cocktails on the lawn makes an afternoon.

Quintessential Newport experience. Sunset cocktails on the lawn is a must and the food is great if you can get a table....no reservations on the patio.

My favorite spot in newport every time I'm in Newport which is twice a week... I love to sit in my Adirondack chair and have my lunch at the in a Castle Hill fabulous views, wonderful staff, I cannot say enough about this place. I absolutely adore it.

Our absolute favorite place. We were lucky enough to have our wedding here nearly 2 years ago, and it couldn t have been more magical. Everyone is so lovely, and the food is incredible.

A wonderful place to stay or visit. Amazing food, great enviroment, relaxing view. Be prepare to have a great time!

Great place to get a drink, sit outside on the lawn, and watch the sun set.

Location is breathtaking, Cuisine is exceptional. Attended a Corporate meeting. Some staff are not fully engaged and don't make eye contact or speak when pass by. Chowder at dinner was exceptional and they made a point to stress the person making it had been with Inn for several decades. Portions where unusually small and when asked by several guests if more chowder was available we where surprisingly told no. Also Brimfield martini highly recommended is only available at Mansion bar our request to have one made at our dinner outside bar was also denied which may seem petty but for a property that has Relais and Chateaux rating this was surprising. It is a truly special place however guest service is not at level of properties as Blantyre, The Point, and Inn at Blackberry Farm which are other Relais and Chateaux properties visited.

Fantastic bed&breakfast right off of Cliff's Walk! Excellent customer service, very comfortable rooms, outstanding breakfast. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, even making a fire just for us one night. The location has easy access to the main road, Cliff Walk, with the Breakers about half a mile walk away. Would love to revisit someday.
