Lovely old hall with lots of character. Lovely restaurant and lounge bar.
I checked the place out when they had a 40's day on with stalls, music shows and a war musuem. The gardens were beautiful and had enough for children to enjoy to (mud kitchens in the woods). Fabulous place very peaceful and pleasant
Awesome place. Very friendly staff. Great dining. Easy to get to. Full of history. A MUST VISIT
Excellent venue for a wedding. Unfortunately, it was raining harder than a downpour under the Niagara in monsoon season set in Waterworld. The chosen site for the marquee was behind the main building, which ultimately meant the less than ideal task of having to run through the rain in nice shoes to get there.
Apart from that, visual splendor abound: the venue is gorgeous and evocative of a stately home. There's parking available to the left of the main entrance with clear signage. When that's full, there's some street parking available when kerb mounted.
Recommended.
Fantastic opportunity to stay in an old Hall
Great service and nice and clean
Staff helpful and good was great
Also very quiet
Got married there 5 years ago excellent gone down in rooms and service since
Afternoon tea very poor, sandwiches soggy stuck together, bite sized cakes, very disappointed
Beautiful hall and surrounding. Food average but good price
Had a lovely stay. Staff are nice and pleasant room was clean and had ever thing u need.
Friendly and nice venue only downside drink are quite expensive
The Hall is a lovely old building and has nice gardens. However, we went for afternoon tea and that was disappointing. We were not offered a choice of sandwiches and when they were brought to us they had fillings that we did not like - such as ham and tomato with mustard, which would have been fine without the mustard - if we had been asked. Shame really - it could have been so much nicer.
Beautiful old house in lovely grounds...tucked away right in the heart of Birmingham! The main old house is lovingly and beautifully maintained with many original features and the ceiling in the Drawing Room is to die for! The love and work that went into making that is remarkable.
Hotel serves good food in a lovely relaxed setting. Staff friendly and helpful.
That's why we've chosen this beautiful old house for our wedding 17th June 19! (Yes they also offer function facilities).
The hotel has a very grand appearance. Large driveway to a grand entrance. Very ample parking at the rear of the hotel. The hotel has an old fashioned large country house look to it, but built behind it are other modern buildings for their hotel rooms. Food is to a high quality and is something a bit more special than your average. Would recommend their cream teas.
Stunning location to hold that great event. Historical architecture set in great location .
Castle Bromwich hall is a beautiful 17th-ish century house which has been quite wonderfully restored to its former glory after years of neglect.
Visiting for Sunday lunch to celebrate my grandmothers birthday the food was nice and the staff generally very friendly and accommodating.
The immediate grounds are beautiful and a short walk will take you to the fabulous hall gardens, run independently to the hall.
Sraff helpfull / hotel breathtaking food exelent/could not wish for better
Mediocre. Could be great if cleaner and restored fully.
Beautiful
Staff very nice helpful
Would recommend highly
Pleasant staff clean environment excellent facilities and beautiful surrounding gardens
The team try hard here but service is slow on the whole. Plates are not hot on service. They are carried with a cloth but cold!
Beautiful building the ceilings were amazing. Love the old and traditional buildings with character. The staff were really nice and polite. Went for psychic evening with Angela Mcgee which was amazing.
Quirky place to stay, full of history, helpful and friendly staff.
Great place to stay when visiting the NEC. Easy drive from central Birmingham.
Comfortable stay. Reasonably priced
Cousin wedding party on the 31st March 18. Great place food was really lovely. Staff work hard well done. We all enjoyed our selfs and lovely open garden space. Great night for partys and disco great. Thanks you again to everyone
Nice hotel , good rooms , stunning gardens and surroundings , however our weekend stay was marred by poor communication (ie none existent) we booked for a weekend with breakfast , nothing on the website about any covid restrictions, had a More
A step back in history.
Amazing setting.
Fireworks and hot chocolate
Lovely hotel great service beautiful wedding venue had a fab time
My husband and I stayed for one night October 2014. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff were kind and long suffering and the owner and managers do not deserve them.
There was no lift, and we had no help getting our bags up very tight stairs to the 2nd floor. We couldn t find our room, as the numbers stopped at 312 and we were searching for 318. We had to phone down to reception who said we were sent up the wrong staircase. The signs were totally inadequate.
The so-called Superior Suite was poorly lit, the old bed creaked and wobbled badly and the pillows were like bricks. The wet room shower had a large mouldy area on the wall which had not been attended to, and allowed to grow. There was only a large old ceiling rose shower, which was so clogged with lime scale that it sprayed out in all directions. With no alternative switch for wall shower, you had no choice but have soaking wet hair. There was no hair dryer supplied or shower caps. That's all assuming you had hot water for a shower - which we didn't. As breakfast was between 7-9.00, at 8.00 the water was cold!
The so called continental breakfast had no bread to toast, no butter and no glasses for the juice. Goodness knows what was going on in the kitchen - I waited 20 minutes for scrambled egg, and gave up.
When we got to the checkout, 3 individuals in front of us were also complaining and asked to see the duty Manager. We also asked to see him, but guess what - he didn't even bother to see any of us or too scared. The receptionist had no choice but to agree a discount for us all by way of compensation.
This building may have histortic interest for some, but it should not be used as a hotel.
Lovely Sunday lunch in a grand setting. Food generous and tasty.
It is a grand old building and a gracious staff. We booked a Superior Double, and were able to get an ensuite bath with a tub in the main building. We had Tea and Crumpets at 16:00 to get the entire English experience. It is a nicely appointed old building. It has a great deal of character and charm. The Ritz Carlton it is not, but to enjoy the old world experience it is perfect.
Beautiful old hall with lovely gardens surrounding. Staff are polite, good food and service in the bar.
Lovely place they do weddings aswell the gardens really lovely and would be great for them photos.
Its a spectacular hotel. Staff makes u feel like if u are at home. Nice gardens and free parking. Restaurant very good.
I'll start the review giving the exterior building and grounds a 4* I was sold on the images of the building alone, however inside told a different story. I received a Warmer Welcoming from the 'Silverfish' in the bathroom than the staff and who I assumed was the manager himself. I had booked the 'Superior' room which was so small the drawers were placed in front of the wardrobe, the wallpaper was peeling off the wall and the room was filthy, there was a thick layer of dust on just about everything with some kind of residue stained all over the mirror.
I really enjoyed my time here. The grounds are beautiful and the decor inside is true to an older more luxurious period in time. The food was excellent and steak is cooked as you like to perfection. The staff are very helpful and polite and it was an all round fantastic experience. The breakfast is very delicious as well. I would recommend to anyone as a place to stay if visiting Birmingham
Lovely surroundings, food tasty service very friendly and helpful.
An excellent family meal for 16 people. Good festive food and wonderful service.
Wonderfull place. let down by the chef the door could have been better and the head barman was rude to his staff in front of us which was uncalled for as the staff couldn't do enough for us they were fantastic still 5 star though
Poor customer service when asked to change room due to bugs being in the beds
Lovely Christmas afternoon tea lovely company and very helpful young lady waitress thank you Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel
very nice Hotel.
Good food
I have been to the hotel and gardens before and thoroughly enjoyed. This was my first time ad a guest in the hotel. We had a family room that sleeps four. The rooms were huge with very good facilities. Our beds were comfy, there was a tv in each room, good selection of complimentary hot drinks, iron and ironing board. The meals were lovely with big portions. Good variety of foods available for breakfast. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. I would recommend as a place to stay.
Friendly staff but room a little disappointing, needed an airing as smelt musty.
Went to a wedding reception, staff were friendly and helpful
I attended, to have a spa session. Having been to this venue before (for my dad's celebration of life), I knew what to expect in reference to the surroundings, staff etc.
The session was calming, relaxing just what the doctor ordered. Will definitely go back there.
Staff were friendly, food average for afternoon tea. Car park could do with s clean.
A meal od 2 half's. I had beef which was good my wife and son had chicken which was dry and rubbery. To be fair my wife's meal was taken off the bill. She came home hungry. Felt bad it was her treat. Sorry wouldn't go again.
Wedding reception was absolutely brilliant good service staff friendly
Great place to stay. Great staff great food.great scenery. Reception girls really helpful. Food was excellent. Was going to stay 1 night. Stayed for 2weeks. Will be going back again whenever I visit England .give it a try.you won't be disappointed. With the quality and the price.
Attended here for a wedding. The rooms were and relatively cheap. The food they provided was very good. The alcoholic drinks were a bit expensive. They had a lovely garden which you can walk around and a maze made out of Holly bushes. They were a bit prickly but still good fun
Good for visiting the gardens and nice terrace garden
Lovely food, rooms are clean and beds very comfortable. The grounds are stunning. Had a great stay
lovely building could be maintained better and i would be worried about car security as 2 cars had windows smashed the morning i was there
We have always had excellent service and food at the hotel, today being no exception. Good food and attentive staff.
Superb..definitely a place to look at if thinking of a small intimate wedding
Pleasant venue had a great time celebrating my mums 80th birthday celebration.
Beautiful garden, quick service and comfortable room
Afternoon tea was delicious. Gardens are beautiful
