This place never misses the mark! Food is consistently delicious!

Great place to get Cuban sandwiches and food. They also have outside tables for patrons with dogs.

Was very good but sandwiches were a little dry. Saw quite a few people asking for extra aioli, including my wife, which seemed to do the trick. El Cubano was a bomb sandwich. Saw a lot of customers also getting the flan and we had to follow suit. Glad we did. It's made fresh every day and some if the best flan I ever had. Customer Service is top notch and very friendly. Would definitely come back.

Everything, from the Cortadito, to the Rabo Encendido were absolutely delicious.

I am Cuban so i am a critic of Cuban food. This place was pretty authentic, full of flavor and everyone was very nice. I would go back and definitely recommend.

Clean place. Great customer service. Food was excellent! I had the citrus grilled chicken and Cuban rice.

Delicious. I would like it better if there was a waitress as the line was very long and the wait was too. There were lots of orders for delivery and they seemed like they were spread a little thin.

Great find by my husband. Clean restaurant, staff very friendly and welcoming. Food was wonderful. Order at counter, sit down and food brought to your table. Place was full by 12:45pm on Sunday. Will definitely recommend to friends and revisit.

Mind blown freshness! The whole family loved it! My 9 year old son asked for the recipe for the yucca fries!!!! Worth the drive for sure. If it was closer we would just move in. :)

I'm a big fan of this place. You order at a counter, prop your order number on your table, and a server comes out with your food. I ordered the Lechon with brown rice, sweet plantains, and yucca fries, which I had in lieu of the beans. It was delicious! The pulled pork was succulent, tender, and disintegrated in my mouth without much chewing. Bright, explosive flavors too. The yucca fries were amazing--crispy on the outside, warm on the inside. The oil/garlic mixture they served as a dipping sauce for the yucca fries really made it a perfect bite. They also had a nice assortment of desserts displayed in a case, but I'll have to come back to try those! I plan to try the ropa vieja next time.

Tucked away in a tiny nondescript San Diego strip mall, Havana brings to life its exterior facade with luscious tropical plants and outdoor cafe style seating which immediately take you to a different world. The interior decor lends a hint to how good the food will be. It s got a nice modern style with a Cuban flair, impeccably clean and very well arranged. It s hard to make a decision on what to eat with their beautiful delicacies out on display at the front register. The restaurant is an upscale diner that uses an order-at-the-counter method (with a server bringing you your food after placing your order). The food is divine. The El Cubano is the best Cuban sandwich I ve had outside of Miami. Save room for dessert though; their flan was delicious but the arroz con leche was where the desert menu shines. It was absolutely breathtaking! My only regret was not trying their tostones (but there s no doubt they will be devoured on the next trip).

The dishes were displayed well and the staff was friendly and informative. I do feel me and my date had to wait considerably longer than others after me. Oh and no I don't do well done steak so this wasn't the reason.

The most authentic and fantastic Cuban food north of Cuba!!!!!! Service is absolutely the best!!!!

There's a really fun and friendly atmosphere here. The yuca fries alone make it worth stopping by, but the sampler platter is a good choice to try all the finger food. This place has alcoholic drinks, desserts, and sugar cane soda (coconut is awesome). There's a screened-in patio outside. There are two downsides. Havana Grill gets really busy so the wait times to order and receive your food get very long. If you can wait, is worth it. Last, if you don't eat meat there are not a lot of options for you.

The service was nice, unfortunately I wasn t impressed with the food. I ve had Cuban food many times in Miami and this didn t not live up to my expectations. The beans lacked flavor and the rice was very mushy and over cooked. Overall experience was ok.

I keep trying and hoping it'll get more authentic like I've had in Miami. Some dishes are great others, just so so.

I had the hot cubana. Also had them dice the jalapeno peppers.
The sandwich was really good. The pork was very tender and melted it the mouth. I will go there again.

This was the best Cuban restaurant I have been to so far. The atmosphere was very open and inviting with both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was professional and friendly. We saw a quite a few regulars there.

We had their mango citrus Salmon and their Paella. They both were delicious. The make Paella only on Ftidays n Saturdays. There were clams, mussels, fish, chicken, n veggies. The Sangria was very tasty n fruity. The whole experience made me feel like I was in Havana. There are more items I want to try when I go back. Give them a try and you will enjoy it.

This is a really cool spot. Great ambiance and the classic Cuban is excellent. The selection of craft sodas are a nice plus. Love the plantain chips.

Finally! Since the closure of Miami Grille, we've been craving good cuban food. Havana Grill hit the mark! Menu has good variety. We ordered ropa vieja and picadillo. Both were fantastic. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming and staff is friendly and helpful. As we were eating, we were planning what to order on our next visit!

Amazing, amazing restaurant for high-quality and authentic Cuban cuisine. We have been regulars here since they opened a while back and the food is just as good, if not better, as it was then. The service is always excellent. Highly recommended for anyone who likes a good restaurant with great interior decorating.

So freakin good! Haven t tasted Cuban food like this since I lived in South Florida 20 years ago. Vaca Frita was perfection. Steak had the authentic crust but was so tender. Great friendly service as well. You will not be disappointed!

Havana Grill is famous for Cuban food.
Cuban American Sandwich was very tasty with crisp beef.
Also, I ordered The Hemingway.
It included thin steak, shrimps, vegitables and grilled bananas.

I felt steak was properly seasoned.

Very good taste, what I did not like very much was the ordering dynamics.

Got the puerco asado with black beens and rice. Food was good and tasteful.

Wow this food is awesome! I had the Fricase de Pollo & it was so flavorful and delicious and only $13. The plantanes were yummy and the service was amazing. Carlos was fast and friendly and Silvia was fun, very pretty and well informed on the different offerings. You will not be disappointed in anything here.

Always a pleasure coming here. Food is always great. Workers always smiling and helpful. Atmosphere is very inviting . I wish you guys had one in eastlake Chula Vista. Good thing my daughter works nearby so when I visit I have a good excuse to come. I fell in love when I went to the Temecula sister restaurant and they told me you guys were opening one in San Diego and so here I am .

Was so surprised to see what a nice place this was....I thought it was going to be just a dumpy little neighborhood dive....and it is so nice, lovely inside. The food is delicious!! Food is delicious, got the pork. There was a substantial chunk of fat and smaller ones here and there, and they gave me 2 plantain slices. There should be better quality control with what they send out. Tasted great but based on my quality and quantity wise, not worth $14.

If you haven't been to this restaurant, you need to go there soon. I have had several of their offerings and they were all delicious! On my last visit, I had their Pollo Plate and it was hands down the best chicken dinner that I had ever had! You should also try the Rabo Encendido. I might have spelled the last part wrong, it is made with ox tail and is beyond delicious!

Havana Grill is my new favorite restaurant because of the awesome decor, the cane sugar soda collection, the Cuban salsa music, the fedora-topped staff, and the fact that everything they serve here is empingao. Just thinking about Havana Grill puts a smile on my face. This is the best place to chill in San Diego.

It was really good had the hot cuban sandwich, and it was made very well. Definitely recommend this place. Was in town for a short getaway, and decided to stop here for lunch.

This place is so tasty. Picadillo turnovers are delicious and full of flavor, Black beans are fantastic. I don't know what they use to spice them but it is delicious. This is 2nd time here, both husband I really liked what we ordered. He had some type of lavender soda or flavor, it was good. Last visit I had their pork sandwich plate, very good. Plantains are cooked perfectly. Flan was ok, nothing specy, I like mine creamier but was still good. Try this place, the flavors are wonderful you will not be disappointed.

Delicious. I could eat their beans & rice every day. I think I liked the congris (beans & rice cooked together) more than separate beans & rice.
If the beans were delicious then you know the meat would be awesome. I liked the Vaca Frita (flank steak seared crispy and pulled apart).
The sweet plantains are... delicious.

A good variety of authentic fairly-priced Cuban food and drinks. Hip and Casual. Order food at the counter and find a seat. They ll bring it out to your table. Right off the 805 freeway on Clairemont Mesa. Usually plenty of parking.

We have been trying out new places that we find on get1free. Havana Grill had a gift certificate and so we decided to give it a try, we were very happy with the whole experience . You walk up to the counter and put in your order, we wasn't sure what some of the menu items were and the women behind the counter was extremely helpful with her recommendations. We ordered THE HEMINGWAY-Marinated, grilled, grass fed Australian beef, wild-caught Gulf shrimp, herb chimichurri. RABO ENCENDIDO-Oxtail slowly braised in wine and spices. I had not had oxtail since I was a child and they tasted like my mama's. We tried the yuka Fries and roasted vegetables, I know that sounds like a lot of food and it was, we had leftovers for lunch. The sangria was yummy . The restaurant and bathrooms were clean, the staff were friendly, we can't wait to come back and bring our friends.

Absolutely love this place! I've been searching for a good Cuban restaurant since I visited Miami years ago. And the best thing is that they have healthy options. The ox tail is excellent, love the Hemingway and the El Cubana sandwich. The guava pastry is a favorite. I don't know that you could go wrong work anything here.

So I'm from Miami. My wife, who is white, has been trying to get me too eat here. And I always end up saying, "Babe, its San Diego. It's not gonna be good/authentic Cuban food." So we never go. Well I finally caved in. And boy was I surprised. Good as hell. Just like home. Not even exaggerating. Really good food. So happy my wife made me go.

Without a Doubt, Best Cuban Food in San Diego. Everything is delicious!!! I went with my wife to celebrate our anniversary, I ate the Ignited Dick, a most gentle gentleman, and my wife ate the Fried Cow and she also loved it; the Cortaditos were a delightful delight, and the Guava Cupcakes, mmmmh !!! delightful Every time I talk about this place, I recommend it as the best Cuban restaurant in San Diego. Keep up the good job guys !!!!
