Havana truly surprised me. My friends had being here before and told us they loved. Well so I had to check. Rich flavors and well prepared dishes. Literally my kind of happy food. I had a real coconut water that was so sweet and delicious. Rice, beans, fried banana (ok fried banana is like Christmas for me) specially when is well done like they prepare. The beef was made thin and grilled with seasonings. Hubby order lechon assado (pork) and even gave me a piece to try so much he liked.

I lived in Miami for 15 years and had plenty of really good Cuban food - Havana Grill is the one and only authentic Cuban restaurant in San Diego. Food is delicious, impeccably cooked with all Cuban herbs and seasoning. I highly recommend this place!

This place has huge serving sizes and the food has lots of flavor! By far my favorite Cuban spot in San Diego. Definitely try the black bean. Good place if you want to grab a quick bite. Order at the counter and eat at a table type of place.

Had the Hemingway--grassfed Australian beef and jumbo shrimp. It was amazing! Perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. The black beans were gently spiced and a little sweet, too. Excellent food, service, and ambiance. Can't wait to go back!!

Go here. 13 dollar chicken fricase is perfectly done leg and thigh, topped with roasted peppers, pimento olives, comes with roasted red potatoes and white or brown rice, black beans and roasted plantains. What a meal, worth twice the price.

Amazing amazing food. Don't ask questions, just go. Get the herringbone plate. The steak (it's a thin piece just fyi but plenty to eat) has the most amazing flavor. Don't sleep on the steamed yucca either. It's truly a gem.

Just tried Havana Grill today with my buddy. LOVED IT! Their MOJITO was spot on! Just the right amount of rum, mint and soda. We had Cuban sandwiches. My friend had the Pollo and I hat the Cubano. So tasty!!
The tostones were perfect.
Friendly service. Highly recommend!

I could go into great detail about the food at this place, but I won't. It's unnecessary. If you're down for some outstanding Cuban food and are willing to spend a little more on your meal then look no further. Order anything on the menu and you won't be disappointed. If you're into craft soda give the coconut soda a try.

Do not be fooled by quiet location... Friendly, chic & comfortable with lovely music. The food, well! I have experienced just about everything on the menu and I LOVE it all! My latest favorite is "Tail on Fire" The Ox Tails - OMG! Bone sucking delicious, I've had it twice in 3days! Leftovers tomorrow! Amazing...the pot liquor aka, gravy... well, I did not waste a drop! Finger licking good! The customer service excellent Jackie & Felippe are the best! Sandra, the owner is amazing... Her staff/family are amazing! I can not say enough about them ~ and don't want to say too much because I want to get in the door!!! Not to be missed...honesty the best food I have ever eaten.

I love cuban food which is why I gave this place a chance a second time.. The first time I ordered their cuban sandwich.. It was ok.

The 2nd time I ordered the stuffed potato... Ok. But what has me giving them 3 stars is the measly pieces of plantain they gave me for a $5dollar side. That was disgraceful. Everyone knows how important platanos maduros are in Cuban food. These tasted like they were sitting around. Disappointing. The place has nice atmosphere and I will come back eventually..

Good place to get authentic Cuban cuisine. The prices are a bit steep, but the service is good and the quality of the food is consistent. A good size lunch crowd on the day I went, which was right when they opened at 11am. Half an hour later the place was full. The empanadas are pretty awesome but for$8 a piece, I will not be buying them again.

Good place for Cuban food! Reminds me of a place in SoBe Miami. For about $15 you can get an entree. I got the braised beef and it was really good. I also got to try the pulled pork and that was flavorful too. The portion is decent, price is a bit expensive for the size. The owner was friendly and came around to every table to talk to the guest. Get some sangria too for the Cuban experience. Order at counter then sit down.

My first experience in this restaurant is remarkable. The service was spectacular and it's a real experience. Never rushing and give you plenty of time to enjoy every single dish. For me, this is the only restaurant that could make us feel satisfied. I will be recommending this restaurant to everyone.

Horrible cuban sandwiches! We tried the El Cubano and the Cuban American. Both were on lousy, dry, flaky bread (tip: lightly butter each side b4 you put it in the press). There was barely enough in it to call it a sandwich. About 2 slices of deli ham and a pickle making it a thin dry crumbly sandwich. Really not that hard to make a decent Cubano. The Cuban American was a vailed attempt at a Philly Steak sandwich with the blandest chopped steak ever and cheap, dry bread. For $14 they were both highway robbery. Good french fries though.

The food was amazing and authentic. I've been to Cuba before and when I found this place I couldn't wait to try it and compare. It didn't disappoint. Make sure to try the Congris! I had the citrus grilled chicken and it was very flavorful and juicy.

Great food. All organic. Great service. People that works here are very nice and helpful. Ordered the half chicken with dry rub. It was so delish. And the bananas are really good so with the congris rice.

El cubano, empanada, papa rellena, ox tail, and all of the plantains were great. The pork and steak dishes were on the dry side. Wait staff was very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere fit the cuisine well.
