Large place! The staff is pretty helpful for finding what you need. Kind of fun to just explore and see what is in there.

Awesome service, tons of research resources, plenty of computers to work on. Lots of great niches for reading and studying.
Beautiful and large state-of-the-art facility. Incredible resource for students.
The Harold B. Lee Library does a great job of working to get relevant content to students at BYU through a variety of means. While there are some spots of the library that suffer from overcrowded wireless access points, there are many spaces that offer a great place to study in an environment that is very rarely disturbed. Aside from the lack of food options, I don't know why anybody wouldn't study at here.
Best library in the whole world! I could probably live here if they didn't kick me out every night with loud music. The vast amount of information in this library is unprecedented in the history of libraries. Each book contains new knowledge I've never learned before.
A fantastic library, even if you aren't a BYU student. Their resources for family history on the second floor are fantastic.
This library would be great if the double doors to the Reading Room didn't make a loud clanking noise every time they closed. That is so incredibly annoying!!! The metal locking piece on the doors bang against the metal hook on the frame every single time someone walks in or out of those doors and it is very, very disruptive to what should be a quiet environment conducive to studying!!!!!
The Harold B. Lee Library is an excellent location to study. They have quiet locations as well as spots where you can talk to those around you. There are tons of computers to use. The busiest time is probably Thursdays from 11:00 am until noon.
I do work here so maybe I'm a bit biased but the HBLL is a great place to be. They have tons of on-campus resources that you might not expect, such as iPads, cameras, and camcorders that you can check out, a green screen you can use, free classes on how to use Microsoft and Adobe software, and even a place where you can eat food. They connected the back entrance too so now you can go all the way through. There are lots of places to study, whether you like loud, quiet, musical, etc. There are lots of computers for student use, both Macs and PCs.
It's a wonderful library with an amazing collection. What's NOT to love?
What a wonderful library! Books on every subject, plenty of tables and chairs to chill out and study, lots of vending machines, and a large room full of computers for anyone to use. It is my second day attending BYU and I must say, despite the great facilities here, I recently purchased a bag of sour patch watermelons and was deeply disappointed. I wouldn't be so picky, but this candy is my all time favorite, and I don't understand how Harold B Lee Library could have screwed this up so bad! Not only were the watermelons quite stale, but half of them were lacking the sour sugar coating, making half of the sour patch experience non-existent. I hope the vending machines get a food update in the near future because I really wanted to attend BYU. This definitely leaves a sour taste in my mouth about the BYU campus.
There's a reason this library has won so many awards. It is beautifully maintained, has many great resources, and is arranged in a user-friendly way. There's a designated area where you can talk loudly and work in groups, an area where you can eat while you study, and many study rooms and other specialized work spaces.
Amazing massive library! Perfect for studying. Tons of seating! Very clean too.
Beautiful library both inside and out. And then there's the sheer size! I am certain, even as a BYU alumnus, there are parts of this place I've never even seen.
If nothing else, make sure to check out the special displays they exhibit temporarily.
Best place to study, do homework, or do research. The library gives me access to all kinds of cool things like computers with powerful programs and books! Perhaps most impressive is their growing online collection, which is even accessible to students from their homes!
A very underrated university library. They've done some great updates over the years, have great study areas, and an extensive collection for a western university.
World class library. So many research opportunities and amazing staff.
Great library, especially with the new updates! Make sure to follow them on Twitter too :)
I must admit I have never ever checked out a book here, but it is a great place for studying. Internet can be a bit shoddy at times, but just try resetting your wireless before calling OIT.
Tons of books, very quiet, there are quiet rooms, recording studios, films, like everything! All in one conviennent place.
Great open spaces and cozy private nooks available for study, sleep and relax.
This place is so great for studying. They have a huge collection and lots of exhibits that change every so often. They have plenty of computers and printers.
Awesome library with lots of resources and quiet places.
I loved studying at the Library during my BYU Undergrad. Great place, amazing space, and full of resources for students.
I enjoy the chill environment and the helpfulness of the staff. I get lost easy here but they're always willing to help. Excellent recording studio and volumes of audio books. Everything is well organized and streamlined such that finding what I'm looking for is a breeze. And even I get confused the employees are always more than willing to help out.
One of the top ranking university libraries in the nation.
Temporarily live very close and have found that while not a student, I can get a decent amount of studying and work done in all areas of the library. However, the third floor can get a little loud sometimes by the food/soda machines.
I used this library as a student and I worked here for 4 years. I have nothing but good things to say about their services.
They have a wide variety of online databases and access to tons of articles in all fields of study. It is always clean.
The third floor (the main floor) is always crowded, do if you want somewhere quiet to study go to a different floor.
The family study area is great and has really good bathrooms for changing diapers or for little kids.
Special Collections has a lot of great resources, which can be used even if you aren't affiliated with the University.
Also the books at the library are cataloged at a very high standard
The security guards are pretty cool, especially jared mecham
Excellent help from the library services and employees. The library provides an Interlibrary Loan program for Family History Library patrons. This has been such a blessing in my genealogical research.
Mike Goates was very helpful and worked with me to find quality journals for my paper.
The library is easy to navigate and usually has helpful staff who make everything easy. It can get packed during times before tests, but there is almost always a place to study. You can reserve rooms to study in personally or as a group.
Beautiful study spaces, unparalleled research resources. Also, great concerts, lectures, art galleries, and historic film series, which are all free and open to the public. Great place for a free family night. Check the flyers around the security desks in the front entrance for info.
Most computers require a BYU account, but there are a handful of public access computers. If you're not a BYU student or faculty member but you need books, call or check with the circulation desk to ask about community member check-out options. I think there are options, but there might be an application and a small fee.
They are simply dedicated to opening the world of knowledge for everyone. Of all the things BYU does well, this library is the very best.
A great place to work or study--there are quiet areas and areas for group collaboration.
This a place has everything. Study areas galore, meeting rooms and every book ever made.
A great place to go play Hearthstone between classes.
Plenty of space to study, I like the open air computer section especially! Excellent overall!
I love spending time in this library. Certain floors play peaceful music for students studying, while other floors are as quiet as can be. Impressive with how many students there are on campus. Just another reason why BYU is a fantastic institution.
Excellent resources for students! I love that they pay for me to use all the journal articles I want for research.
If you want to do family research, or a history paper on pioneer-related subjects this place is a good resource. If you have to do research on any other subject, I wish you luck- not that you'll get it.
They keep updating their website, but what they really need to do is develop an efficient search algorithm for their catalog. I'm so tired of not finding what I need.
Good library, the main floor is usually super crowded but the upper floors are quiet and less crowded.
I love this library. Such a serene place to study and chill. The longest I've ever spent here is 13 hours straight. It's that good.
Gorgeous big library with plenty of room to study. The people who work here are always super friendly and helpful!
We were visiting our BYU son and daughter, and had some time on campus, so we walked over to tour the Harold B. Lee library. What a treat! We saw exhibits on the Golden Spike and Utah railroad history, as well as other displays. It was well worth a few minutes to explore the architecture and offers of the building. Libraries have changed a great deal since my time at the University.
Great place to study. I enjoy all the private rooms, social commons, plentiful vending machines, etc.
You can always find a spot to study. If not, just try another floor.
Amazing huge library. There is a very large selection of all kinds of books. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. There are great places to study. With special permission you can see some old and special idems as well.
great if you need a quiet place to work or want access to special software like dreamweaver, autocad, etc.
Huge library, great online subscriptions, helpful staff.
Great library!! Helpful staff and tons of resources.
Perfect to study with groups. Or find a place to hide from the world and get your studying done. It's perfect and I come here after most classes.
I visited the library today. It was a holiday so there were not many students there. It is a beautiful facility.
Good grief, this place is amazing. I can find literally any sort of book I need here. If I can't find it in the library, I can probably access it online through the university's subscriptions and contracts with publishers.
There are plenty of places to study, nap, read, etc. The library itself is enormous. I've gotten lost in here multiple times, and it's not an entirely unpleasant experience.
The main bathroom on the second floor is kind of old, but I can't complain too loudly.
This is an excellent resource not only to people at BYU, but the community in Provo.
They have a wonderful collection and great study areas. It can get packed at sometimes of the school year.
Almost no one wears masks in the library. No social distancing happening here...
Highly ranked library and has all the resources you need for research. Some limited natural light in the lower floors, but what do you expect?
A great place to study, but it can get a bit crowded close to finals. (look out for PDA and slow Wifi)
Most students aren't wearing masks in the library and there are still groups gathering and not social distancing in the library. Doesn't feel safe to be in the library with so many people not wearing masks.
The largest library that I have ever been to. Not to mention that alot has been digitized and the Library website is very easy to maneuver. I loved the 4th floor. There are isles of sheet music and on the other side of the sheet music isles are movie theatre rooms that can be booked online! I had Bachelorette viewing parties there.
The librarians are always helpful and friendly. Through interlibrary loan can virtually get your hands on anything you can think of. Great quiet study spaces.
i think i slept here more often than i slept in my apartment
sometimes i'd hide from the student workers and overnight here
i felt like solid snake or something
anyway great place to study, sleep, or avoid people
This library is great. Enormous amounts of books. The staff are always friendly.
