First time there loved it will go back again for visit

Very nice place lovely golf course restaurant is amazing well recommended

This is an amazing place. Come and see it for yourself. So much history... Great rooms, great service. Really nice people working here. The food is a little blend. I think the chefs need to learn how to cook bacon and croutons.

Beautiful grounds - great for walking. The hotel is closed at the moment but looking forward to staying there once it reopens in a few months.

Christmas party night food only ok, service too quick to take away, not finished...music good

Check in was wonderful and the women at the desk were so friendly. After a delayed flight of 5 hours they couldn't have been more welcoming. The grounds are gorgeous as is the hotel. I can't wait to explore more.

Lovely hotel. Lovely spa i leisure centre. Had a massage and it was wonderfull. Girls from there are really nice and pleasant.
The only thing witch was not great was the breakfast because they said they are serving it until 11am. We came around 10:30 and everything was gone, only cereals and a little bit of fruit left

Stayed for one night last weekend. Never been there before.
Overall a good experience although the dinner on the Friday evening was not close to 5star.
Fillet steak should not be tough, nor should fish be overcooked!!
Nice wine list and service was friendly and efficient.
Breakfast was a bit of a free for all and would have expected a degree of table service at this level.
Having to make your toast for example after queuing for the toaster . All a bit 3 star more like!! When I m away for a weekend I want to be pampered!!!
The bedroom was very nice and really can t fault it.
All in all a good experience let down primarily by the dining experience which flattered to deceive.

The spa is goid but I would not recommend the hotel

Lovely afternoon tea with a friend. Staff were very friendly and pleasant. Lovely surroundings and atmosphere. Tea and goodies were lovely but 10 for a glass if prosecco, a little pricey

Amazing views, great house.
Restaurant was OK - the mackerel very tasty and well prepared. Sirloin steak on the other hand not tender and overcooked. Very friendly and fast staff.

Lovely place nice walks would not class it as five star!

Had a lovely afternoon tea. Called ahead but booking wasn't registered. Wonderful staff made up for the wait and made us feel welcomed in the end.

Carton house is my favourite place i call it my happy place its kept me and a lot of people like me going through this hard time I'm so grateful to the people who own Carton for keeping it open i walk there every day meet the same people if I could give you more than five i would thanks so much to you all

Top class hotel and spa. Beautiful golf club. The grounds of carton house are fantastic and the building has an iconic presence in the estate. There is also a lake, boat house and driving range here

I attended a wedding in Carton House. Normally I find meals at weddings are not great, but my meal was super.

We really enjoyed the ambience of this beautiful Hotel.The walks by the river and the spa and swimming pool as well as our bike ride helped add to our experience. Our meal in The Kitchen Bar was delicious and The Linden Tree was superb.Food beautifully presented and very attentive staff.

Very relaxed atmosphere. Staff lovely. We kept bumping into the irish rugby team.

Fantastic staff, fantastic service and fantastic food

Quaint and well organized. Great grounds for evening strolls and such. Amazing coffee whether your thing is a simple lattee or a more tailored cappucino, americanio or a french press... service is top notch with a well trained staff. Only star i took off was for the improvement that can be done for the food. Some of the dishes are amazing while others are pretty pedestrian. Needs more attention for the cost involved. All in all... definitely recommend.

What a beautiful setting! The staff here are very helpful and friendly. The surroundings are gorgeous and the old part of the hotel is breathtaking. The gardens are immaculate. Well worth the trip!

Stunning venue & amenities but desk staff were poor. I needed 3 room changes due to no water supply in each room and the staff were annoyed with my complaints. Disappointing service after the cost of the stay!

Beautiful setting with expansive grounds and easy walking trails. Old house is fabulous with well preserved decor of the era. Modern hotel rooms are clean and comfortable but fairly standard. Linden Tree Restaurant was woeful; basic menu - definitely ' no hats' cooking. Eat in Maynooth, don't waste your money.

A grand place to stay, relax and enjoy "the good life". The staff is second to none.

Luxurious and comfortable hotel. We stayed a weekend for a company Christmas Dinner and it was fantastic.

My friend and I went along to the Carton House Spa recently for treatments. Very relaxing environment. The staff were extremely attentive. I would highly recommend the spa.

Spa was amazing. And had a lovely walk around the demense.

Went for afternoon tea at Carton House Golf & Spa Resort it was lovely and the food was delicious. If you have time would recommend going for a walk around the hotel grounds.

Nice hotel set in beautiful grounds but worth the cost per night. You can walk through the old house, which is fascinating (you ll have to figure out the history yourself though) but you stay in the new part. The lobby is grand and comfortable with lots of people sitting, reading or having a drink most evenings. There is a long, eery corridor to the lifts and stairs to the rooms and you will have to bring your luggage yourself as there are no porters. If you request something from reception, it can take up to 20 mins for it to arrive (I asked for toothpaste).

I didn t use the dining room nor did I have breakfast as 20 pp per day is ridiculously expensive. Our room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom had a large bath and a small, slightly awkward shower. Annoyingly, there is nowhere to put the soap so you either have to leave it in the sink or watch it slip onto the floor...

There is a nice pool area and functional gym should you need.

Lacing the basic meet and great, no one says good morning or hello to you at reception.
Glad to have had the opportunity to stay here but will not visit again unless for the grounds.

Wonderful setting and grounds, staff attentive and friendly. Food is disappointing for the price, no a la carte menu, just set menu with very little choice. They seem to be trying to be very formal, the result is a bit stuffy and not a whole lot of fun.
