Carton Demesne, Maynooth, Co. Kildare, Ireland. Beautiful Estate. Staff was wonderful and helpful. Restaurants on the estate were very good. Short taxie ride from Dublin airport.
Great place for stay, food and many outdoor activities like horse riding, golf etc. Stream at that place will take your breath away. It s just near the entrance to carton house - so if you are visiting there take some time to stop and walk through the river. Good place for wedding photography - I presume.
Fabulous course nice meal it really is a pity the bar staff are so slow and didn t know how to pull a pint of Guinness. Guinness was poured in one pull and served in a plain glass.
I was really looking forward to my stay at Carton House. Unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. My car was broken into & as the hotel wouldn t store my luggage so my suitcase was stolen. The hotel were not the slightest bit helpful in dealing with this. Stephen - the duty manager didn t seem to care & was extremely unprofessional. The area is unsafe, the staff did not help - I wouldn t recommend this hotel.
Attended a wedding. Food was great. Area for the ceremony was a spectacular setting.
It's lovely but please kick start the games room again! Kids loved the arcade games...
This is outstanding hotel made in palace. They say to be one of Ireland s most historic resorts. Interiors are amazing, you feel like a noble. The golf fields are all around. It takes few minutes to get from the gate to hotel by car. You can have great walk around. Lovely old buildings, ponds, bridges.
They serve very good meals and great Guinness. Staff is very helpful. One of my most enjoyable stays. I recommend this place.
Super friendly staff, gorgeous grounds and modern yet charming hotel. Highly recommended.
Fabulous location, incredible architectural details preserved during the restoration. Awesome food coupled to friendly service, what's not to like!!
Room small and dated grubby would be a basic 3 star standard .Very overpriced and no atmosphere would not ever recommend
Leisure facilities are very good. Both restaurant and casual dining offers a disappointing limited choice.
Very nice place but It is pretty far from City. Good if you want to enjoy but we were there for a business trip and honestly getting a taxi there was biggest pain
Most wonderful afternoon tea. Treated like royalty by Anata and her team.
What a fabulous hotel just a hours drive from the airport stunning
One of my favourite place to stay in Ireland
Definitely highly recommended
Had a really nice lunch with my daughters, staff very helpful.
Wonderful old hotel on a beautiful golf course. I loved everything about Carton House.
Fab hotel, beautiful surroundings, brilliant staff. So relaxing here.
Just home after a spa break .Fiona looked after our booking . Could nt praise her highly enough .Most efficiently run hotel I've visited recently. Looking forward to our next visit.
Stayed in Carton House for the weekend with my partner we we're happy with our room except as advertised there was no hot tub just a regular bath with faulty tap fixture, difficult to get through to reception and even harder to order room service which wasn't up to par.
On a lighter note the afternoon tea was very nice and the lady who served us very knowledgeable and helpful also the spa was very relaxing.
I would not stay at hotel again but will at some point visit the spa.
Did not enjoy my day at this hotel. Hot Food was served luke warm and waiting 45 minutes. Leisure centre lovely but kids using steam rooms and jacuzzi Members say this is the Norm. Won't be returning.
Great golf courses and brilliant new club house with good food and great ambience. The hotel is up there with the best in the country, well worth a visit.
Such a fascinating place. You couldn't build somewhere like that today. What stories the old buildings must have seen. Love the place.
Oauuuu ..... oauuuu gorgeous places ... you feel you catch wings with such beautiful bravo views
Enjoyed the food.
Service was perfectly timed will definitely return
Nice atmosphere in a lovely setting.
Beautiful room, great food at the restaurant and excellent service at the restaurant. Would definitely return.
Walked around the grounds of this hotel today. Pleasant atmosphere with lots of wildlife. Golfers were all friendly and chatty. Beautiful views from the more elevated areas. Staff were very helpful in the reception, supplying us with a map of the walking routes. Good experience
The hotel itself is stunning but the bedroom was disappointing, it needed an update! Breakfast was lovely but the swimming pool and changing area was quite cold. Staff are very pleasant
Carton House is nothing short of fantastic. The main house and the bedrooms are simply stunning and luxurious. The main house is steep in history. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Only one thing I would say is if you want to eat in the main restaurant book well in advance of your stay. We were unable to eat in the main restaurant as it was fully booked and the other bar stops serving food at 9pm, however they were most accommodating and served us dinner after 9. I would recommend a two night stay at least, one day is not to experience everything. Highly recommended Carton House and can't wait to go back.
O'Meara course is beautiful and immaculately kept. It's a long walk! Plenty of space between holes
Amazing hotel, professional and friendly staff and a really relaxed feel. The rooms (including the bathroom) were well furnished. Highly recommend this hotel for either a couples or family break.
Waiting staff are all very pleasant..wraps are beautiful and great coffee....very interesting to get warm carrot cake which was gorgeous.. very expensive but worth it. The grounds are amazing. Love coming here for a treat..and it's only 30 minutes from Dublin city centre..
Food was great, service was friendly, but staff didn't seem to know whether they were coming or going, and I mean the waiting staff, but it's a beautiful place.
Unfortunately. I hav in the past rated the montgomerie course amongst the best in Ireland. But we were not informed the greens had been hollow cored and sanded. Spoilt the round
Beautiful venue for golf, minibreak, spa or afternoon tea. Easy to get vouchers and a pleasure to walk in in person. Gorgeous.
Beautiful, stately, quiet, expansive, relaxing. Great place for business retreats
Very nice, loved the walking trails, food is great, very relaxed atmosphere, very helpful staff.
Awesome place , fabulous food, great staff. Grounds to walk on,and the added bonus of an art gallery on the grounds when its raining!
Had a lovely stay in this hotel. It has a beautiful setting in the extensive estate. The suite was clean and well equipped. The bathroom had a lovely stand alone bath with mood lighting. All the staff were nice and helpful. Will definitely return
I would like to stayed with my family in one holiday to visit lord Edward Fitzgerald biology
DO NOT USE THIS FOR DIRECTIONS TO CARTON HOUSE HOTEL! This is a fake address
The first impression is terrific, a castle with a gigantic park. Unfortunately, the impression of interior is not achieved. The room was musty, the floor was cracked, the fittings scratched and the balcony door so distorted that you could not open the door. The front desk was very friendly, but also the only place with an existing service. The breakfast was very bad. The fruit was either almost lazy or immature. The selection was modest and the service did not exist. It was hardly cleared, no coffee offered, you were ignored and if you ordered something, it took forever. At the bar unfortunately the same result. The SPA area is not recommended. Tiny, half broken (for example, the jacuzzi) and too small for the size of the area.
It takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour to get to Dublin.
Harp music every saturday with afternoon tea.Very relaxing coffee area in the entrance hall. Beautiful grounds. A great escape from suburbia but conveniently close too.
I booked this hotel to celebrate my fiance's birthday and we were hoping for enjoyable gateway but the trip was a let down.
The room was a bit run down, the mattress was so hard that it was probably meant to a 70+ year old with back problems.
The games room was nothing like advertised if you could even call that a games room. (pictures attached).
The spa was OK, Jacuzzi wasn't working, pool was full of children, definitely not relaxing.
Dining was a disaster altogether, poor service and food was cold, served old really hard bread when asked for extra. Waiting for long time even tho the place was empty.
The view and the outdoor grounds are amazing, hence the 2 stars.
Little bit overrated, definitely overpriced. Good golf courses. Service was actually quite poor in comparison to say the k club etc
Have stayed here a few times, nice to see the bedrooms being finally renovated. Staff are always very professional and friendly. Delicious evening meal in the Linden Tree restaurant and a nice relaxing couple of hours in the Spa. We also had a very tasty lunch in the new Carriage house bar.
Room, food, and service were first class all the way
Fabulous setting, food of reasonable price and quality. Staff could do with paying attention to new ,customers arriving requiring menus, getting orders taken...
Lovely place to stay, parking is a bit of a problem, and everywhere seems far away due to its long design and extention, but 4ooms and food couldn't be faulted.
Had the most amazing afternoon tea experience. The surroundings are amazing and Katie who was looking after us on the afternoon, was the best hostess ever
Luxury hotel with excellent service and very good food, the golf club staff were exceptional. The grounds are fantastic with golf, cycling and of course the Spa, wonderful!
Stunning place. Great food. Beautiful rooms and grounds.
Good place to stay and relax. Very good place with friends and family.
Amazing venue. Beautiful location. They seem to have loads going on all the time and despite there being probably loads of people there it doesn't seem busy. Rooms were clean and nice, pool facilities very nice, front bar was nothing amazing but good food and restaurant was very nice. If I was to pick on anything, it would be the desert options at the restaurant. Our table had each of the options and no-one finished theirs.
Attended for a wedding, the setting is very beautiful and the hotel grand but, all in all, I found the place to be a tad rough around the edges. For a four star wedding reception, the food was adequate, but the offerings for guests with special dietary requirements - in this case a Coeliac and vegetarians - weren't particularly good.
Very very nice place to rest, play two very beautiful championship and enjoy Dublin and its guiness ...
Tough golf courses exemplary customer service and lovely members.
Went into the bar in hotel - beautiful! Lovely staff.Thank you so much for finding my phone I left in bar 2 weeks ago :)
Stunning place to go for a walk. Great scenery and plenty of places to see. Only pitfall is it's lacking in adequate footpaths and as such sometimes you find yourself walking on a road.
Rooms lovely and fantastic grounds. Restaurant was closed and bar food was poor. Bar area lacks atmosphere gym facilities poor for a prestigious hotel. Staff were attenative and helpful
